Title: Making soap!
Post by: strangerthings on November 19, 2021, 02:52:45 AM
I would substitute the olive oil, honey, and oatmeal with non gmo organic ingredients ( you wont need huge packages or bottles) and what a cool thing to do one day when your lacking something to do and want a change!

This is great, but I agree, dollar store stuff is not what you want, there's no point to making soap if the ingredients are no better than the soap you can buy in the store.

I haven't bought soap since 2013! I have a great recipe with organic ingredients and it's the best soap I've ever used. It's also great as a shaving cream substitute, very moisturizing. I'm actually due to make some more, I let mine cure for a month to six weeks, so it does taken some planning.

Here's my recipe from my poor neglected old blog: https://theherbanfarmer.com/how-to-make-real-soap/
