Title: The Road to Elmira
Post by: jbseth on July 04, 2018, 12:07:27 PM
Hi All,

Recently I've been thinking about buying a copy of the book, "The Road to Elmira" by Richard Kendall. As I understand it, he was one of the "Boys from New York" that regularly attended Jane's ESP class.

I was wondering if anyone here has read this book and if so, what they thought if it.

Thanks

I bought the Kindle version of the book a few years ago. Not only do I love anything Seth, but I've always been interested in the class members and their personal experiences and feelings about Seth. It goes back to my skeptical nature and wanting to know what they were thinking/feeling at the time.

I enjoyed the book, it filled in some blanks as far as how people "found" Seth/Jane in the first place, what it was like to be in the classes... that kind of stuff. While it is not literature, the book is enjoyable. Rich has a nice sense of humor and there were some personal stories of his own life and also interaction with Seth. I have an eclectic collection of written materials related to Seth and Jane (the Time magazine with story on Richard Bach, some of Jane's early fiction, articles and interviews) and so I ended up buying a signed printed copy directly from Rich to add to the collection. That lead me to helping Rich with his most recent book, Seth Inspired. I did some photo restoration for him. I bought that book too and got him to sign it. Again, not literature but enjoyable and sometimes that's all I need.

Now all I need is a book signed by Jane. Someone posted in FB a few weeks ago that she bought a used book and it was signed by Jane. I've been buying used Seth books when possible with that hope in mind. :)

Hi Deb,

Thanks for sharing. That's exactly what I was looking for.

I have a copy of both of Sue Watkin's "Conversations with Seth" books and I enjoyed them both very much. Like you said, its interesting to hear what other people who knew Jane and Rob, thought and have to say about their personal Seth experiences.

You know, it never even occurred to me that there may be copy's of the Seth books, out there, that Jane signed. Wow, that would be awesome to find one of them. We have a rather large bookstore in the Portland (Oregon) area that sells both new and used books. I'll have to keep that in mind, the next time I go there.

Thanks again Deb,

JBSeth

You're welcome. Coincidentally (lol, this always happens), Rich posted some memories of Jane on Facebook this morning. I made it into a new Memorabilia post, here's just an excerpt and if you click on my name it will take you to the post itself:

Shortly before Jane died, she told Rob, "DON'T LET THEM MAKE A GOD OUT OF ME." So I hope that by providing some details of Jane's personal life, both before and after Seth emerged, you will be able to see her more clearly as the very human being she was. Yet her accomplishments in the field of consciousness exploration spring from that same humanity, so I will also include examples of her often remarkable abilities.

I thought the part about the missing pilot and Jane's impressions was pretty interesting. And her dream in 1981 predicting the Internet...
