What does Seth mean in the first few paragraphs of chapter one of eternal validity of the soul, when he said he is older than us and no longer inhabits a physical form? Does that mean that we all will eventually become like "him" and no longer inhabit a physical form? Is Seth different from us? How come we all aren't the same age? How can he be older than us humans if time doesn't exist?

Sunshinedaydream, welcome to the forum and thanks for your interesting questions. I'll just comment on your last two questions, and leave the others for other members. I don't think Seth ever said that he is "older" than us. If time only exists in physical reality, the word "older" would be rather meaningless. You and I would cease to incarnate in physical reality once we have learnt everything to learn about physical reality. I am aware that the concept of time comes into my last sentence, but I can't see any way around it.

Hi Sunshinedaydream, welcome to the forum.

Could you possibly direct me to specifically where Seth said that or something like that? It's been so long since I've read that book that I'd like to take a look at what you're referring to so I can see if I can explain.

Seth does acknowledge several times in the books that while there are such things as, for example, simultaneous time, he has to talk to us in terms that we understand from our current perspective. So while time and space are illusions, they are real enough to us and what we know.

I don't have specific answers to your questions but I can offer a viewpoint on a process that has helped me with questions along the metaphysical paths I have followed. When I was first training myself to read oracles, a form of divination, I was told:


If reading that gives you a bit of spiritual indigestion, I understand completely. That's exactly how I felt when I first heard the words. More questions instantly appeared in my mind: "What does that mean? And who is talking, anyway?"

But there were other thoughts spawning that were new and different for me. IF the words are true, then it means I (on some level) already know what it means. It also implied that I knew who was speaking (or I could not have asked the question). I wasn't comfortable at all with that part because I wasn't on friendly terms with channeling and I was pretty sure that whoever was speaking, it wasn't me!

Remembering the dilemma makes me smile. So what did I do about it? I learned to frame a question in a different light. "What does that mean?" became a contemplation instead of a question, which is somewhere between an imperfect and perfect realization. I read the words again: "You cannot ask a question without being in touch with the answer." If that was true—and I had no reason to believe it certainly wasn't true—then it meant I was in touch with the answer. That simple shift was a fundamental change in how I used my mind from that point forward.

The perspective I'm offering is this: What if you are already in touch with the answers to each question you've asked? What would you do? How would you navigate from the imperfect realization (the question) to the perfect one (the answer)? One thing is exactly what you did. Ask the questions in a Seth community and get new ideas and perspectives. We're all very lucky to have this forum.

Another thing is to sit with the understanding that you are in touch with something you want a clearer picture of and realize you have made a request to the universe and to the other levels and parts of your self. They hear you. And they will respond.

When? ... Now that's a heluva question, isn't it? Though it is probably true what Violet Fane (pseud. of the English poet, Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie) said in her poem:


WAIT is undisputedly a four-letter-word. Trust me, I know. My present incarnation in this physical body is an Aries. I want everything yesterday. But there is a lot of comfort in knowing that once something has been asked of the universe and the other levels and parts of Self, they do hear the request. And they will answer. If time doesn't exist, perhaps they already have answered.

Be comforted. The moment of perfect realization always comes, if we believe the possibility is so.
