Rumi does not deal in right and wrong, good and evil. He is like a spiritual Keith Richards. So much of what he says echoes with what Seth says. I think this is most well known poem -

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase "each other"
doesn't make any sense.
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep."

When he says 'don't go back to sleep' to me he is saying don't go back to believing the illusion.

Wow, that was profound and beautiful, thank you. I'd heard of Rumi, had not read anything of his (from the 1200s! So glad his wisdom is still with us). I agree about the not going back to sleep part—it's something it would have taken me a while to catch on to, lol. I don't want to go back to sleep.

While I never liked poetry in the past*, it's really growing on me. Maybe I'm finally growing up. I did really enjoy Kahlil Gibran. It's been decades since I've seen anything of his, I think I need to look into him again. And feel free to share more of Rumi if you come across more that strikes you, I'm all ears.

*I remember having to write a poem in middle school, and I wrote a poem about hating poetry, lol.

Deb for me too poetry is only something I've really appreciated as I've got older.

Yes 1200 so very old but I'm staggered at how modern it reads, I think he was a real teacher of his time, there seems to be no dogma in what he writes. I've not come across Kahlil Gibran Deb I will take a look.

A fairly well quoted poem of Rumi's, I sure it's familiar, again he mentions sleep or in this case sleepers. I like it's impact -

This place is a dream. Only a sleeper considers it real. Then death comes like the dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief.

I'm searching for something a bit longer and with more relevance to Seth's teachings, will post up when I find..
