Hello!

I am reading the Early Sessioons - Book 1, and finding it really fascinating. There's a lot of personal material which I find very helpful, as I am better able to relate some of Seth's concepts to actual every day circumstances. I'll post about that separately.

But here's what I wanted to ask.

In Session 27 and 28, Seth talks of changing the way Rob and Jane's apartment is laid out and suggesting some changes for her psychic health.

Does Seth talk about home layout and energy flows in a home in any other session? If yes, I'm curious about how it might relate to feng shui.

Deb

Hi @Peace20203.

Seth's advice on Rob and Jane's bed facing north-south came up numerous times in the books. I believe this was because of being aligned with the flow of energy. There were also some mentions of having their refrigerator in the bathroom, which Seth was not happy about. I'll include some quotes that I found on the Seth Search Engine https://nowdictation.com. If you search there you'll find more.

I don't know about other things Seth mentioned, maybe someone else here will. He didn't mention feng shui directly, but there may be other things he mentioned that address the flow of energy. He did say heads north would help expedite OBEs and improve health.

("Is there anything to the idea of sleeping with your head to the north?")"

"Sleeping with your heads to the north is excellent, on your plane only. [...] A point, however: Your bed should never be in your main room. [...]

—TES1 Session 35 March 16, 1964

What I find interesting in the last comment is, assuming Seth meant their living room as the main room, Richard Bach spent a night on their couch and had his first OBE. I don't know the position of their couch at the time.

"When possible a window facing the north should be opened in your room, in the morning particularly. These past episodes, again, have been beneficial to you both. You are quite correct, Joseph. You ended your illness however not twice as quickly, but three times as quickly, as it would have been otherwise."
—TES6 Session 280 August 24, 1966

"I told you many sessions ago that the most healthy conditions could be achieved for the human organism if the body when sleeping lay in a north-south position, and I repeat this remark now....

You will however find a considerable change in your health, though your health is not poor, if you change the direction of your bed as I have suggested."

"In early spring Rob came down with several annoying gumboils and one night he asked Seth how he might get rid of them. Seth immediately launched into a rather hilarious discussion of the unsanitary aspects of a refrigerator in the bathroom. He made a few kindly but definite statements to the effect that we should know better, and suggested that the appliance be moved into the kitchen, where it would hold all our refrigerated food. If so, he assured Rob his gumboils would disappear.

"No control personality or whatever is going to tell me how to run the house," I said. "This is one of those suspicious signs that we've read about. The control personality starts throwing its weight around and trying to dominate the medium's normal personality. Remember what Dr. Stevenson said? Besides, there's no room in the kitchen for the big refrigerator.""

Deb, thanks so much for these snippets. I don't know why I didn't think of searching the database. Will check now. (Still getting familiar with the site, and loving it.)

Just last night and earlier today I was thinking in terms of physical-reality (that you perceive) being a mirror in which your self (personality) is symbolically reflected. This was started by somebody's statement that, no matter how hard he tried, looking inwards he couldn't find / see his 'self'. It dawned on me the analogy with seeing yourself's image in a mirror, with the difference that what you 'see' / perceive in the physical-reality mirror is a symbolic reflection of your personality (self). You have to interpret what you perceive, as deeply as you can.

From this perspective, all that we perceive in the physical-reality isn't what it superficially (here not in a demeaning sense, just as an antonym for 'deeply') means, what it appears to be.

So, advice related to the bed orientation, cardinal points window opening, appliances' location in the apartment, can and should be interpreted symbolically, considering their deeper meaning and representation, the relation between various gestalts of consciousness and their elements, gestalts in their own right.

I believe that there isn't a direct causality, in those example quoted from Seth, in the way (probably) most people would interpret them (it seems that at the time Jane was interpreting in that way too). I think that that kind of advice needs to be interpreted in terms of changing the inner in order to see it reflected in changes of the outer.

It seems fun (and probably stimulative) to try to interpret each of Seth's recommendations from this perspective. :)

Although I don't always write it explicitly, it should be inferred that everything I post is "my belief", "my opinion" on that subject, at that moment.
