A meaningful poem (for me) - A Rock Called Earth

I found this on Facebook a week or two ago. I wish I had taken note of the author's name. I remember he was from somewhere in the Ukraine. I thought it was really meaningful, and will continue to try to track down his name so I can give him credit for this.

Dear Crew
We are flying through space, on a tiny rock called Earth,

We weren't born in countries, this whole rock's our place of birth.
We all like to travel and explore this place, in search of beauty and grace,

Yet we're already flying through the universe, we just don't feel the pace.
We're exploring the depths of the cosmos, carried on this tiny rock,

Many of you may call me crazy, many more may try to mock.
Some too busy to realize, what this journey's all about,
Some too busy feeding their egos, to ever feel self doubt.
Fighting tooth and nail, just to score some of this petty cash,

Money makes us free, but when it's spent our freedom turns to ash.
So I say look dear brothers and sisters, feel the love inside my heart,

We are not here to surpass each other, let's all just press restart.
Let's work together to rebuild, and cover our rock back up with moss,

For if we trip and fall on concrete, there is sure to be blood loss.
So far we've lost a lot, because this rock is ours, yet we fail to share,

I see that many of us love, many more still help and truly care,

My respect goes out to you, for indeed so many hearts are in despair.
Precious crew, we have a spaceship to maintain, so don't complain,

We must learn to self-sustain, despite all imaginary chains.

There's no more room here for disdain.
