Seth made many references to the consciousness of cells:
“The cellular consciousness experiences itself as eternal, though to you the cells have a brief life. But those cells are aware of the body's history, in your terms, and in a much more familiar fashion than you are aware of the earth's history.”
This is a quote from The Unknown Reality, vol. 1, Session 681. This book refers to “cells” in 92 places, while Volume 2 has 98 references. NOPR has 112 references.

One of the interesting things about cells, according to Seth, is that they are independent of linear time. The conscious ego needs linear time to make sense of physical reality, but cells apparently do not have this need.

“Now: Basically, the cell's comprehension straddles time as you think of it. Period.”
“The cells' basic innocence of time discrimination had to be bypassed. At deeply unconscious levels the neurological structure is more highly adaptable than it appears. Adjustments were made, therefore. Basically, the neurological structure responds to both past and future data Biologically, then, such activity is built-in. The specialized "new" kind of consciousness in one body had to respond pinpoint fast. Therefore it focused upon only one series of neurological messages.”

(The Unknown Reality, vol.1, Session 686, quoted in http://www.subtleenergies.com/ormus/tw/Matti&Seth-time.htm  )

Some scientific evidence has emerged in the past two decades in support of Seth's ideas, particularly in the writings of Guenter Albrecht-Buehler, Professor Emeritus of Cell Biology, Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago:

http://www.basic.northwestern.edu/g-buehler/FRAME.HTM

“...... if cells were intelligent, medical treatment may involve 'talking' to cells rather than to flood the organism with pharmaceuticals as we do today.”

There is a book I read quite awhile ago so I don't remember the title ...but it was by a medical intuitive who "talked" to the parts of the patient's body and each "pain" had a story.     I agree, I feel that these "stories" need to be address for true health.
I've really understood that more with all this body work I've been having.   Little past life stories are being released and after I feel "weapon hits" for about 3 days after.  There was a sword that entered on my shoulder and came out the front, the hatched on my shoulder, chains on my wrists.  The amazement of the process over rode the pain!  LOL

Sena, have you read any of Carolyn Myss?

As I'm typing I'm also listening under headphones to this.

This is an exciting topic for me. I've been a follower/reader of Bruce Lipton/Joe Dispenza for years, both of whom are medically trained (Joe is a chiropractor, Bruce a cellular biologist who was teaching doctors and doing stem cell research in the 60s). Both are teachers of thinking that is right in alignment with Seth's teachings about everything being connected, the consciousness of cells, beliefs (perceptions)/the mind being the architects of our reality. Both are presenting their ideas with scientific data rather than expecting the general public to rely on faith, religion and metaphysics, as they feel that a great percentage of the population gets turned off by "woo woo" concepts. Science, like math, is a sort of universal language in these times.

Just a few (a-hem) related quotes:

"Every cell is made up of two invisible ingredients: awareness and energy." From Deepak Chopra, Reinventing The Body on-line course (Daily Ohm)

"When you look at yourself you see an individual person. But if you understand the nature of who you are, you realize that you are actually a community of about 50 trillion living cells. Each cell is a living individual, a sentient being that has its own life and functions but interacts with other cells in the nature of a community." Bruce Lipton, The Wisdom of Your Cells

"A person's health isn't generally a reflection of genes, but how their environment is influencing them. Genes are the direct cause of less than 1% of diseases: 99% is how we respond to the world." Bruce Lipton

"Crises are harbingers of evolution." Bruce Lipton (speaking to spontaneous/conscious evolution)

"The new physics provides a modern version of ancient spirituality. In a universe made out of energy, everything is entangled; everything is one." Bruce Lipton

“To be empowered—to be free, to be unlimited, to be creative, to be genius, to be divine—that is who you are…. Once you feel this way, memorize this feeling; remember this feeling. This is who you really are….”  (not necessarily related to this topic, just a great quote) Joe Dispenza

Ahhh, Caroline, medical intuitive (Sacred Contracts, to name one of many). Another good one. She was "discovered" by C. Norm Shealy. He WAS a sceptic at the time. I'll try to track down which book of his I read that introduced me to her, it was pretty convincing. He's a very interesting guy, a doctor, 83 now, specialized in pain relief I believe, holds some patents. The two of them put together a lengthy audio program on (non traditional) healing which I listened to years ago. A few open minds. And hope for progress.

"Healing involves great natural aggressive thrusts of energy, growth, and the focus of vitality. The more powerless you feel, the less able you are to utilize your own healing abilities. You are then forced to project these outward upon a physician, a healer, or any outside agency.
If your own belief in the physician 'works' and you are cured of symptoms, you are physically relieved, and yet your own belief in yourself may be further infringed upon."

"Every cell is made up of two invisible ingredients: awareness and energy." From Deepak Chopra,

Great quotes!  How exciting you got to be part of the Joe Experience.  He and Lipton are the New Priests.

To me the Key is this quote.  You satisfy the Energy part with Science and the Awareness with communication through music, art, intuitive visualizations.  The Energy is the Gas and the Awareness is the Key that starts up the Sportscar.   ;D

Auto-hypnosis works.
"For five or ten minutes a day at the most, then, use natural hypnosis as a method of accepting desired new beliefs, eg ‘I am a non-smoker’, during that time period concentrate your attention as vividly as possible upon one single statement.  Repeat it over and over again whilst focusing upon this time period." (NOPR, Chapter 16)

From <http://www.spiritualresponsetherapy.org.uk/articles/article/?nid=201>

I thought I would give this a try. I had suffered from a nagging toothache for 3-4 weeks. I hate going to the dentist. So I repeated silently "My toothache will go" for 5 to 10 minutes. That was two days ago. My toothache is gone.

What does this have to do with cells? I assume toothache, like other kinds of pain, is associated with nerve cells. Do the nerve cells understand English? Probably not, but Seth tells us that thoughts are electromagnetic realities.

"You must understand that your ideas and thoughts do not exist as phantoms or shadow images without substance. They are electromagnetic realities." (NOPR, Chapter 6)

From <http://sethquotes.paradisenow.net/seth_excerpts_part_i.html>

Presumably these electromagnetic realities are a way of communicating with one's own cells.

I find that extremely encouraging. And the quote about auto-hypnosis as well.
Have you heard of EFT (emotional freedom technique)?
I think it goes hand-in-hand with the auto-hypnosis.
It involves tapping on only a few specific (accu)pressure points while repeating a mantra, typically "Even though I ____ (fill in the blank), I unconditionally love and respect myself." It's supposed to release blocked energy. There's at least one video out about it, a technique used to help former soldiers suffering PTSD that purportedly seems to work.

I have to say the first time I tried it, I really, physically felt something move in me. That was a few years ago and I've not been able to repeat the experience.

No, I hadn't heard of that. I suppose this method, as with acupuncture and acupressure, is a way of communicating with one's cells. The Chinese explained it in terms of "meridians" and "qi" because the cell was only discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665. As for PTSD, the effects of trauma on cellular memory need to be sorted out.

I'm always a little suspicious of energy healing techniques, only because of being raised in a "better living through chemistry" environment. I should know better. But I try to keep an open mind and explore new concepts. Here's just one article about the testing and validity of EFT, with references. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/12/26/emotional-freedom-technique.aspx  Several years ago I went as far as getting a video, The Tapping Solution, attracted by commentaries by Bruce Lipton, Joe Vitale, Dr. Mercola, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Dr. Norm Shealy, etc. It's been a while, maybe it's time for me to watch it again.

Coincidentally, I just signed up to hear Deepak speak in person in September! We have a funky new-age church in the Denver area, Mile Hi, that frequently has well-known authors speak (Joe Dispenza, Marianne Williamson, Elizabeth Gilbert, Deepak) for really reasonable prices. I try to go to as many as possible.

I also recently signed up for what may be my final Joe Dispenza workshop, which will be in November. VERY exciting!

A friend of mine did this for police in LA to deal with trauma on the job.

How cool Deb that you have that in your area!  I miss Santa Fe for that reason.  There was so much to do.  Tho I'm 45 min from Durango, Co and there is quite a bit there too.

Everything I've encountered on energy healing explains it different.
but my current subjective take on it is, that consciousness, the non physical stuff communicates to the physical stuff (our body) the intention, or an intelligent bundle of coherent information.

Incoherent information brings dysfunction, so the information needs to be sorted into coherent and symbiosis with the physical organism, the body can not "lie" but only express what we tell it to do via our consciousness through thoughts, feelings, emotions etc.

So healing is the realignment from chaotic disorderly information (the energetic blueprint that maintains the body) to coherent orderly cohesive information or "energy" if you prefer.
Whether it comes about through our own efforts, or the efforts of a healer, doctor etc is the details.
The healer is also a "Pattern interrupt" to borrow a term from NLP who challenges the old dysfunctional pattern of thoughts, feelings, emotions beliefs that constantly create and re-create the body as Joe Dispenza talks about.

In computer terms it's like hitting the reset button but also defragging the fragmented files.

I randomly flipped my just printed PDF to an open page, and it happened to have this exercise on it.
So cut and paste from the digital version:
----

Cellular memory playback

Try a simple experiment. The results will be self explanatory. Think of a sad event from your life. Similar feelings will soon follow, and with them memories of other such unpleasant episodes strung together through association. Scenes, odors, words, perhaps half-forgotten, will suddenly come upon you with new freshness.

Your thoughts will activate the appropriate feelings. Beneath your awareness, however, they will also trigger the cells' ever-present memory imprints of stimuli received when those events occurred. There is, to some extent now, a cellular memory playback - and on the part of the entire body, the recognition of its state at that time.
If you pursue such sorrowful thoughts persistently you are reactivating that body condition. Think of one of the most pleasant events that ever happened to you and the reverse will be true, but the process is the same. This time the associated memories are pleasant, and the body changes accordingly.

Remember, these mental associations are living things. They are formations of energy assembled into invisible structures, through processes quite as valid and complicated as the organization of any group of cells. Comparing them with cells, they are of briefer duration, generally speaking, though under certain conditions this does not apply. But your thoughts form structures as real as the cells. Their composition is different in that no solidity is involved in your terms.

As living cells have a structure, react to stimuli and organize according to their own classification, so do thoughts. Thoughts thrive on association. They magnetically attract others like themselves, and like some strange microscopic animals they repel their 'enemies,' or other thoughts that are threatening to their own survival.
Using this analogy, your mental and emotional life forms a framework composed of such structures, and these act directly upon the cells of your physical body.

John, thanks for this very relevant quote from The Nature of Personal Reality, p.131. A daily visit to speakingofseth.com helps to direct me towards beneficial thoughts.

I find this experience (the cells / emotions) often happens at the dinner table when we tell our partner / family / whoever the replay of events of our day, our hopes, fears, dramas, highpoints, low points. It's easy to get stuck in toxic cycle of the negative experiences (and emotions) however, rather than a balance of all experiences - the feedback loop body / mind / thought / emotion - that Joe Dispenza talks about a lot.
To me it 's HEALTHY to about anything and everything, then LET GO of it and move on. Talking about the same negative experience over and over, and bringing up the same emotions over and over can be really toxic, but can also be healing if done in a way to consciously let go of them, or examine them.

The conventional scientific view is that memory is stored only in the brain. There is no real evidence for that, but it is a "belief" held by scientists. Seth tells us that every single cell in our body is conscious, has its own memory, and even "comprehension". These are some quotes from the Seth search engine:

• "Cellular memory can be changed at any point. Present beliefs can insert into the past new memory, both psychologically and physically."

• "In some cases of healing, in the spontaneous disappearance of cancer, for instance, or of any other disease, certain alterations are made that affect cellular memory, genetic codes, or neuronal patterns in the past."

—NoPR Chapter 14: Session 654, April 9, 1973

"Now, the future is also present in cellular consciousness. The ego, again, simply censors dreams from the cellular consciousness level when they deal with time that is not yet physical in your terms. Cellular consciousness is usually considered as simply a repository for past knowledge having to do with personal or racial existence. Because of the spacious present however, cellular consciousness also contains blueprints of the future."
—The Early Sessions, Book 7 Session 290 October 3, 1966

• "You can dip into cellular memory, for example. Using memory, you follow but one recognized sequence of remembered events backward."

• "The future incident may then occur in its time sequence, and you recognize it through memory, in which case your reactions in that future present will be altered because of the seemingly past memory."

• "In such a way the cells retain their memory, though you do not perceive it, and the body is aware of so-called future occurrences, though as a rule you do not consciously sense this."

—NoPR Chapter 14: Session 653, April 4, 1973

"As I have mentioned many times, cellular comprehension deals with probabilities and encompasses future and past, so at that level of activity time as you understand it does not exist."
—Nature of the Psyche Chapter 3: Session 764, January 26, 1976

"In its own way, cellular comprehension includes a vast recognition of probabilities in your terms, and works with flashing manipulations in which these probabilities are contended with and responded to — and therefore altered."
—NoPR Chapter 19: Session 669, June 11, 1973

The practical significance of cellular memory as I see it is that "at that level of activity time as you understand it does not exist." It is this which enables us to change the future by being aware of our thoughts and emotions in the present moment point. At the cellular level we are able to choose the best probable future.
