Title: Synchronistic Events
Post by: jbseth on August 19, 2018, 01:44:41 AM
Hi All,

Here's an interesting event that occurred to me many years ago. When I was perhaps 7 or 8 years old, my Dad stopped at a 7-11 convenience store and went inside to buy something. While he was inside, I started a conversation with my Mom, who was in the front seat, sitting on the passenger side. I was sitting in the back seat.

In this conversation with my Mom, we talked about what we would do if a man got into the car and started to drive away, while my Dad was inside the 7-11. I don't believe that my Mom and I had ever discussed this before.

In this conversation, I told my Mom that if a man actually did this, while my Dad was inside, I would beat him up and make sure that he didn't go anywhere.

Now here's the interesting thing, while we were in the mist of this conversation, an older gentleman, who was probably in his 70's, came out of the 7 -11 store, came over to the drivers side of our car, opened the door, got into the car and proceeded to attempt to put his car key into our cars ignition switch. Once he did this and realized that his key didn't fit, he realized that he had gotten into the wrong car. By this time my Mom who was somewhat started by this, leaned over and said to him, "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Me, I was so completely dumbfounded that I didn't do a thing.

The car right next to us was an exact duplicate of our car. This man simply made a mistake. He got into our car thinking that it was his.

Here's the thing. I always considered this to be an odd "synchronistic" event. However, just recently it occurred to me that perhaps I started this conversation because I had, had a precognitive insight that this event was about to occur.

Unfortunately, this happened so long ago, that I really don't remember much more about it than what I just told you.

What do you think, was this a synchronistic event (whatever that means) or was my conversation perhaps based upon a precognitive insight from me?

Have you ever had something like this occur in your life?

jbseth,

Thanks for sharing this. I assume that it was not your mom who started this topic. It seems to me that it was a rather odd idea for a 7 or 8 year-old to bring up. It could have been precognition, or it could have been that you created the reality of what happened.

I was thinking about my many synchronicities this morning before I saw this new thread. I will be sharing several of mine soon. For now, here's an example:

I don't know if I had even heard of the term 'synchronicity' in 1974, but I was about to experience it. I had just bought my first property, a condo in Southern California. I had gotten word that it was ready for me to move in – that the carpet had been installed, including clean-up afterward. I moved out of my apartment and arrived with all my personal possessions in a borrowed van. I unlocked the door only to find that the carpet installers had left a horrendous mess of shreds and remnants all over the floor. There was no way that I could move in on top of that mess. I had a $20 cannister vacuum cleaner that I knew was not up to the job. But I had no choice. I had just begun to gather up at least the larger debris by hand when the doorbell rang. It was a Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman. He asked if he could demonstrate his product by vacuuming my whole house. I said, "First, I just spent all of my money buying this house, so I am not buying a vacuum cleaner from you. Second, look at what you are getting yourself into," and I showed him the floor. He said, "I don't care if you don't buy the vacuum cleaner; I get paid for demonstrating it." He worked for two hours, lining the walls with napkins filled with copper-colored carpet remnants, each removed from the cleaner after doing about a square yard of carpet. I have since had only one other vacuum cleaner salesman knock on my door, and there was no synchronicity tied to that one. But at the one moment in my entire life that I desperately needed a high-end vacuum cleaner, the universe obliged. Or in Sethian terms, Framework 2 obliged.

Hi LarryH,

It sounds to me like you got a Kirby salesman who was willing to "demonstrate" his vacuum cleaner just at the exact right moment.  :)

My wife had a Kirby vacuum when I first met her many years ago and we still have it. These were really incredible vacuum cleaners, which had many attachments that could be used for many purposes.

I'm really interested in hearing your other stories.

When I was in college in Detroit, I had an illustration instructor, Syd Mead, who was already famous for his design illustration abilities. He later got the attention of Hollywood and started doing set and vehicle design for science fiction movies like Star Trek Voyager, Bladerunner, and 2010.  I was working at a design consulting office in Southern California when I discovered that Mead had come out with a book of his illustrations. I thought that I would order one for myself and two more as Christmas gifts for my brothers. I knew that Mead had moved to Southern California and thought that perhaps I would see him at some design event, and then I could ask him to autograph the books. I received them and kept them at the office, so they would be handy. I had them there for perhaps two months, but Christmas was fast approaching. I needed to get them in the mail if they were to arrive by Christmas. As I was leaving the office with the illustration books under my arm, I passed our temp secretary who had moved from S. Carolina, and she exclaimed, "Oh, I see you have Syd Mead's Illustration book!"

I replied, "Gifts for my brothers. Wait, you know about Syd Mead?"

She responded, "Oh, yes, he's a friend of the family! He used to stay with us in Charleston when he was there on business! As a matter of fact, he's coming over for dinner tonight! Say, would you like me to take those books and get them autographed for you?"

What were the chances? How perfectly did that outcome match my intention, though in a completely unexpected way?

Hi LarryH,

Wow. That's a neat story. What are the chances that a temp secretary would know Syd Mead, much less that he would be a friend of her families.

I'm curious, did you know about Seth and his ideas regarding you create your reality at the time.

Yes, I started reading Seth before either of those events above, probably in '73 or '74. By the way, a few days ago I was listening to a sci/fi book, and the story mentioned Syd Mead as an inspiration for the design of some high-tech military installation.

Hi LarryH,

I really like the Syd Mead, info. I remember thinking that the movie "Tron" was really awesome.  I thought the concept was very interesting and at the time, I thought those computer generated motorcycles were awesome. I still think they're kind of cool, even given todays computer generated capability.

I didn't start reading Seth until 78' or 79'. I discovered "Seth Speaks" in a local bookstore, and was absolutely blown away by Seth's concepts.

I know there were several other synchronistic events that have occurred to me, but at the moment, I can't think of them.  I'll post them here on this site, when I remember them.

Do you have any others. So far they've really been quite amazing.  :)

Here's another one: Maybe just coincidence? Several years ago, my daughter and I were watching Shutter Island (with Leonardo DeCaprio). It is about an FBI agent who visits an island hospital for the criminally insane. Before we started watching it, I shared with Rachel that I suspected that it would remind us of the old silent movie The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I said that something in the previews that I had seen gave me that impression. She had never heard of it, though. I just told her that I would explain later after my suspicion was either confirmed or denied. We watched about half of the movie the first night. The next day, she announced that her Art History and Appreciation class assignment was to write a critique on a movie. I asked her what movie she was supposed to watch. She went and got her notes as I went to the Netflix website. Then she read me the name of the movie: "The Cabinet of..." and I said, "Dr. Caligari." She hadn't remembered the name of the movie that I had mentioned the day before. We were able to watch it online on Netflix before finishing Shutter Island. By the way, my suspicion about the similarities was confirmed. She even compared the two movies in her school assignment. I will not go into detail about the key similarity so as not to spoil it for anyone who has not seen either but may someday.

Hi LarryH,

Hey that's another great synchronicity. How you knew about the Dr. Caligari movie and how your daughter had it for a class assignment. That's neat. Thanks for sharing.

I've recalled of 2 these types of episodes for myself yesterday, and I'll post them both today. One of them however is possibly more along the lines of a reality creation event.

Hi Larry H, Hi All,

One of the most bizarre synchronistic experiences I've ever had, occurred indirectly as a result of the fact that when I was in my early to middle teen years, on several occasions, the idea came to me that I would not live much longer than about 35 years. At the time, I thought this experience was rather odd; where did that idea come from, but I didn't concern myself with it too much.

Then, when I was 35 years old, I had a dream one night that I was working on something and suddenly I had a heart attack. This dream experience really startled me and I woke up quite shaken as you can probably imagine. After I woke up, and got my bearings about me, I noticed that my wife, who was lying next to me, was crying. I didn't know whether she was sleeping or awake and so I shook her and asked her what was wrong.  It turns out that she was awake and she told me that she was crying because she just had a dream that I had died.

Wow.

To be honest, I have often wondered whether a probable me actually did die that night and in some way, I was able to transfer over from that reality into a probable reality, this one, where I got to experience continuing on with my life.

Hi Larry H, Hi All,

Here's another one of my synchronistic experiences, although I suppose that perhaps this could be classified as inadvertent reality creation as well.

In 1979, before I had discovered any of the Seth books, I had purchased a book written by Harry Homewood, called "Thavis is Here" (see Amazom website below). In this book, Harry, who is a trained journalist, writer and editor, talks about how he made contact with a spirit guide, "Thavis", using automatic writing. The majority of this book is about Thavis's communications with Harry, where Thavis shares his insights on many topics. These include concepts such as: 1) the Soul is immortal, 2) reincarnation does occur, 3) every living creature has a soul, 4) there is no such thing as time, all time is no time and no time is all time, 5) God is light; God is All, All is God, 6) there is no Satan, and 7) the greatest lesson, you will not die.

https://www.amazon.com/Thavis-Here-Harry-Homewood/dp/0449139913/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534956762&sr=8-1&keywords=thavis+is+here

After reading this book I was really excited; finally I had found a book that feels right to me.

Then, I started to investigate the local libraries and bookstores, to see if Harry had written a sequel. Once I realized that he hadn't and perhaps maybe never would, then I began to search in earnest for something similar to this. I couldn't and wouldn't believe that someone had written something so close to what I believed to be true and then never wrote any more on the topic. I searched all the libraries and bookstores as much as I could, as often as I could, looking for something similar. After about 2 months of doing this, one day I walked into a small local bookstore and found a book that seemed, very interesting. I was a book by Jane Roberts and it was titled, "Seth Speaks, the Eternal Validity of the Soul".

Of all the books that Jane had written and published by 1979, the one I found that day was "Seth Speaks".  What was the main point that Seth attempts to get across in Seth Speaks? You do not die.
And what was the main message of Thavis is Here"?  You do not die.

Again, I don't know if this was a synchronistic event or perhaps an inadvertent reality creation; perhaps it was a little of both.  :)

I'm loving all of these stories but while I feel like synchronicity happens in my life all the time (usually around thinking of someone I haven't had contact with for a long time and they call or email me, or I run into them in the most unlikely places), for some reason I can't come up with anything exciting to share. Maybe later.

In the meantime, will precognition do?

I was maybe around 15 or 16 years old, living in NJ. I had a brief dream that I was looking at a mountain in the distance. A train was coming around the mountain (just like the song, lol), and suddenly it derailed and was tumbling down the side of the mountain. I could hear people screaming. Then my alarm went off and I had to get ready for school. Turning on the news, I found there had been an Amtrak derailment in PA. I don't think it was on a mountain, but that sort of thing doesn't happen every day.

Around the same age, I had this weird dream that I was dressed like an oldtime cowgirl-- the clothes, hat, gun in a holster around my hips. I was swaggering through half-size swinging doors, into a saloon of all things. Suddenly someone threw a bar stool at my head. I jerked and that woke me up. I was sitting upright in bed. At the same moment, a heavy large picture laminated to wood (my mom's wedding portrait) had fallen off the wall above my pillow. The hanger on the back had come off because the glue was old and dried out. It would have landed smack in the middle of my forehead if I hadn't sat up when I did. I would have had a couple of shiners at least, maybe more.

Telepathy?: One day I was with some co-workers at lunch, and I was telling them about a very cool elderly inventor for whom I had done some development work about 7 years before. I had not been in touch with him since. The next day, on the front page of the paper was an article about his death. Evidently, his funeral was occurring while I was telling my companions these stories about him.

Whoa, that's too cool. How can anyone deny there is something going on outside of our "normal" communication?

A teensy story: Back to when I was a teen again. 17 or 18, I had my own car at this point and was driving down a highway with my best friend. She started singing a popular song and in an attempt to get her to stop singing  ;) I turned on the radio. The same exact song was playing on the radio and was completely in sync with where she was in the lyrics. She thought it was hysterically funny.

Hi All,

Oh these stories are all very interesting.  Thanks for sharing.

Deb's, last story about her best friend singing in her car, reminded me of a sync event that occurred me many years ago (is what's going on here, what Seth referred to as association? I think so.)

In 1979, was going to a local community college taking courses in electronics. That particular quarter, I was taking a course on televisions.  The back of a TV picture tube contains a large electromagnetic coil called a "yoke".  The changing electromagnetic field that is built up by the current flowing through the yoke,  changes the direction of the electron beam which is aimed at the inside front of the picture tube. This action is performed in such a way that this electron beam very quickly scans across the back side of the front of the picture tube, and in this way is able to draw the image on the front of the TV screen.

After a TV is turned on, if you move the yoke back on the picture tube, the entire image that's displayed on the TV screen will appear as a small round circle. If you then move the yoke forward, the entire image on the screen becomes a larger and larger circle until finally the image completely covers the entire screen.

One day, during a lab session, after we turned the TV on, my lab partner and I noticed that the image displayed on the picture tube was a small circle that looked like an ocean scene.   At this point, we tried to figure out what was wrong with the TV we were using because the yoke was placed forward where the TV image should have been displaying on the entire screen.  After scratching our heads for a few moments, we noticed that the image on the screen started working and everything was alright.

What happened was this, at the moment we turned on our TV set, the local TV station was playing a pirate movie. It just so happened that at the instant that our TV first came on, the pirate in the movie was looking out of his telescope for enemy ships on the horizon.

Talk about timing.  :)

Hi All,

Here are two more possibly related synchronous events that occurred to me and my family many years ago. Certainly it appears that maybe there's more going on in life, than we may realize.

My wife and I were spending 3 days visiting Victoria, British Columbia, and had been staying at a hotel in town. While we were there, in town looking around, I got a call from my sister Pat telling me that my Mom had just passed away. This wasn't entirely unexpected since she was living in a nursing home, close to Pat's after having suffered a major stroke several months earlier. My wife and I went back to the hotel and started packing up and making arrangements to travel down to Prescott, Arizona, where Pat and my Mom lived. Shortly after we arrived in our hotel room, a seagull appeared on the window ledge looking out the backside of the room. These windows were oddly placed about 10 feet high and I didn't think that it would have been possible for even a smaller bird, like a pigeon, to land on this very narrow ledge and stand on it.

I've always loved birds, all kinds; I think because they can fly; and my Mom knew this very well.  This seagull stood on this ledge and looked in on us for probably about 15 minutes. Then it flew away. The entire time that we were there, this is the only bird that ever landed on this extremely narrow ledge and looked into our hotel room.

Was this a messenger, sent to us from my Mom?

When we got to Arizona, we started to look for funeral parlors to help us make the arrangements. I looked in the local yellow pages and contacted a funeral parlor that used a moth/butterfly as a symbol of their business. Then that evening after spending the day and evening with Pat, Bart, her husband, and family, my wife and I went back to our hotel in Prescott and went to bed.

Shortly after we left, Bart went to bed but Pat stayed up for a while longer. After Bart, got into bed, he said that he felt something poking him in the back and it seemed to be moving. As a result, he got up and turned on the light to see what was going on and a large moth, was crawling around in the bed, and then took off, flew around the room and then out the window.  The next day, after telling us this story both Pat and Bart said that almost never have any moths in their house, much less in their bed.

Was this also another messenger, sent to us from my Mom?

Possibly. Also, birds appearing in an unusual way have been viewed as an omen of death. But I think also that a departed loved one can take control of animals and insects to visit or send a subtle message. After an aunt who loved cardinals died, I was taking a walk, and I saw eight cardinals. One allowed me to get within about 5 feet away without flying away. Another swooped close to my head. After my step-father died, I thought I would like him to visit as a butterfly. Even though I never saw any butterfly-related unusual events, I was walking with my daughter one evening about two weeks ago. A butterfly flew past, and I said, "Hi, dad!" Then, I explained to her why I said it. The next day, as I was bringing groceries to the car, I noticed a beautiful dragonfly on a shopping cart nearby. I reached out to it, and it crawled onto my finger. It stayed there for about a minute as I held it up to the sky and brought it close to my face. When I finally went to open the car door, it flew away. As I thought about it, I realized that a dragonfly would be more dad's style.

My understanding of Seth's Frameworks 1 and 2 is that Framework 1 is the world of space and time in which we live, while Framework 2 is the level of reality that "contains all the dreams, plans, and thoughts of all human beings of any time." It may be what is also referred to as the Akashic Field, also possibly related to the implicate order referred to in quantum physics (where Framework 1 would be the explicate order, that which manifests in time and space).

Here's a little from Seth regarding Framework 2 as it relates to coincidence, from TPS4:

"The ordinary events of each day are overloaded with coincidences and significances that are nearly invisible because they are so taken for granted, and they are so multitudinous in number, and fit so perfectly into the framework of the days. These coincidences do indeed hint at another kind of organization and throw a different perspective indeed on the nature of events.

"Those coincidences and significances are indeed giving hints of the actual organization behind the facts of your world. This organization is personally, intimately tuned, in that it gives evidence of a spectacular psychology on another scale that organizes events in a manner that is for each individual personally significant.

"It hints at the most precise and powerful focus, so that amid an infinity of data, events can be arranged at times so that two particular people, for example, separated in childhood, could, 30 years later, find themselves living next door to each other. In the meantime, they might have hired detectives, and all objective avenues may have yielded no results, until by chance they meet at the corner grocery.

"Until our hypothetical friends met each other at the corner grocery, it seemed that all of their efforts and searches brought no success. They might even have been living on the same street for a year before the meeting. They had no idea of faith in the terms of which we are speaking, yet in Framework 2 their desires came about – and not as a result of detective work.

"Your intents in Framework 2 will automatically attract those whose own intents will correspond with your own plans in whatever way. The same is obviously true for others from their standpoint—loose lines, so to speak, or loose maps for action, or patterns for action, begin to form. This kind of interweaving occurs constantly, so that no relationship of the minutest kind exists without it."

So in a similar manner, my examples regarding Syd Mead or the vacuum cleaner had nothing to do with anything that I did in space and time - the desired outcomes simply manifested in a 'magical' fashion, apparently driven simply by intention.

"So in a similar manner, my examples regarding Syd Mead or the vacuum cleaner had nothing to do with anything that I did in space and time - the desired outcomes simply manifested in a 'magical' fashion, apparently driven simply by intention."

I'm curious, who's intention do you think created these events.

It was the intentions of all involved in cooperation. As I quoted from Seth, "Your intents in Framework 2 will automatically attract those whose own intents will correspond with your own plans in whatever way." The vacuum cleaner salesman and I both were served by the synchronicity. In the Mead synchronicity, it was mostly my intention (with no idea how the desire would be fulfilled), but my intent in Framework 2 "automatically attracted" the synchronicity with the temp secretary.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

I agree. It has to do with everyone's intentions, including our own.

Although in some of these event's I'm not really sure that we are necessarily "consciously aware" that we are attracting them.

In "The Nature of Mass Events" Chapter 4, Session 825, Seth says:

"The coincidences that seem to happen, the chance encounters, the unexpected events — all of these come into your experience because in one way or another you have attracted them, even though their occurrences might seem to have insurmountable odds against them. Those odds — those impediments — do not exist in Framework 2."

Yes, our intents do not have to be conscious. Our intents may be embedded in the arc of life that we planned before we were born. Meeting someone at the right time to fulfill a life purpose may not be recognized as a synchronicity, just a serendipitous coincidence. It would not be clear in many cases that Framework 2 was at work. Synchronicity may give us a message that we needed to hear, but not related to conscious intent. Here's an example, seeming to drive home the importance of paying attention to our dreams:

On a trip to Scotland, I spent two days in Findhorn, the alternative community that gained some notoriety in the '60's - and it is still going strong. I was sharing a B&B with my younger daughter, and while waiting for her to take her morning shower, I popped in my MP3 player to listen to a downloaded C2C show ('Surgery & the Supernatural' with guest Dr. Allen J. Hamilton). He was speaking about a time when he and an African guide purposely crashed a boat onto shore to keep from flowing to their deaths. When they got up, an old man was standing there smiling at them. The doctor told him who they were, what they were doing, and how they got there. With each comment, the man said, "I know."

The Dr. asked, "How do you know?"

The old man said, "Because I dreamed it. But what I don't understand is why I was told to come here to this spot and wait yesterday and not today."

What he did not know was that the doctor had been delayed on his journey just the day before for exactly one day. This was a pivotal experience for the doctor who was so impressed that a man would not only follow through with instructions received in a dream but would trust it so much that when nothing happened, he would wait another day. And the doctor's life and mission depended on this happening.

When Rachel came back to the room, she wanted to tell me about her dream, which was long and detailed, and this was the only time over the ten days that she told me a dream.

Immediately after discussing her dream, we went downstairs for breakfast. I asked the B&B owner how long she had been living in Findhorn, and she proceeded to tell her story, finishing with the fact that she built the B&B four years before because she was told to...in a dream.

Hi LarryH,

Awesome story.

The Findhorn experience must have been interesting.

The story about the old man who pays attention to his dreams and was there when the Dr. and his guide crashed their boat onto the shore. Wow.

I agree with everything you said about dreams. They can give us useful insights into our reality.

I have been writing down my synchronicities shortly after they occur. This is to ensure accuracy, as memory can sometimes change the details. Here's one from about a year or so ago:

One morning, as I was preparing to go to a Unitarian Universalist service, an old favorite quote popped into my head: "Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone." I got in the car, and on my way to the service, I was listening to a book on CD, The Untethered Soul by Mickey Singer. Within a few minutes, the book is talking about getting past your comfort zone. I arrive at the UU, and that day's talk was being delivered by the president of the congregation. He relayed the story of when he was first attending and the minister asked him, "What do you want from this fellowship?" He didn't have an answer at the time. But after a few days of pondering that question, he came up with this: "I want to be made as uncomfortable as I can stand it." Thus, I received--within less than an hour--three reminders of the importance of challenging one's comfort zone.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

That's really neat how a quote, just "popped" into your head, and then the same sort of message shows up in the CD and then when you get to the service, the president of the congregation says that he wants to be made as uncomfortable as he can stand it.

Years ago, when things like this happened to me, I just thought of it as a mere "coincidence".  However, after reading Seth for so many years, I now believe that when these types of things occur, this is really a method that my inner self uses to communicate with me.

I'd had many experiences where something occurred in my external environment that got my attention.

Once, about 2 months ago, while driving home from the swim center where I go to swim laps every day, I got an internal nudge to get off the main road that I usually take and take the back roads home.  In the last 20 years or so, I've begun to recognize these nudges much more often than I use to. In this case however, I was curious as to what this was all about.  As I continued down the main road, I positioned myself so that I could make the very last remaining left turn, about ¼ mile before taking the left turn that I usually take. As I looked ahead, I saw a significant amount of emergency vehicle red and blue lights flashing. Suffice it to say, I took that last remaining left turn and saved myself a long wait in traffic. Thank you inner self.  :)

I don't think that a lot of people, outside of some Seth readers and some others, really understand the concept that a portion of you can and does regularly communicate with you via your external environment. It took me quite a few years before I actually recognized this.

About a year ago, I purchased a copy of the Michael Singer book, "The Untethered Soul". I like the way that he approaches the question, "Who Are You." And while I don't agree with him that you are your consciousness, as he seems to indicate, I do like a lot of what he's written in that book.

My wife and I occasionally attend a "New Thought" church here in town. As I understand it, New Thought Churches like Unity and Religious Science (now called International Centers for Spiritual Living) are very similar to the Unitarian Universalist churches.  All of these churches seem to be inclusive and very open to other religious ideas and concepts like the "Seth" information.

Speaking of Michael (Mickey) Singer, perhaps my largest collection of related synchronicities tie to him and/or a neighbor. My written account is a little scattered, as it spans many years. Before I share them here, I have to organize them better.

Meanwhile, here's a little one: As mentioned before, I download some of the Coast-to-Coast shows and listen to them on my MP3 during my walks. One day, I was listening to a show hosted by Dave Shrader called Time Anomalies. When I was nearly home, he listed his five all-time favorite time-travel themed movies in reverse order. His number one favorite was what he called a sleeper, not very well-known, called About Time. I had never heard of it - I thought. When I got home, I found that I had an email from Netflix telling me that the next movie in my queue, About Time, would soon arrive. I don't even remember putting it on the list.

Hi LarryH,

Well, it sounds like it was "About Time" that you did.   :)

(I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself.)

What a neat sync event.

That movie title sounded familiar to me and so I went and Googled it; its the one with Bill Nighy and Rachel McAdams.  My wife and I saw that movie several years ago, and I've got to say, it's definitely one of the best movies (time travel or not) I've ever seen. What an awesome movie, we loved it.

I'm really interested in hearing about your Michael Singer sync experiences. In the mean time, I'll keep thinking about mine because I know I have several more.

In 2014, I went into my box of old books that I could not bring myself to give away and re-read a book that I had first read decades ago. The book was an autobiography, The Scientist, by John Lilly. In it, he writes in the 3rd person about his life, including his childhood, his education, his relationships, his professional challenges, his interest in consciousness, experiments with dolphins, his development and use of the isolation tank, his drug experiments, his participation in workshops at the Esalen Institute, and his many encounters during altered states with (what he calls) extra-terrestrial beings, who oversee, among other things, "coincidence control". Hold that thought.

I had become acquainted with a little hunched-over bearded guy named Marcus, a member of the Unitarian Universalist fellowship. Over the months, I had struck up conversations with him after the service, since I found out that he was an officer in Patton's 3rd Infantry Division in the same outfit as Audie Murphy. Since my step-father was in the same division, they both went all the same places during the war. Later, I learned that Marcus had a background in physics, was a patent lawyer, and a Zen practitioner. Many of his stories were filled with synchronicities.

Shortly after finishing Lilly's autobiography, I asked Marcus on impulse, "Read any good books lately?"
He responded, "My own!"
"What, you wrote a book?"
"Yes, it's about to be printed. I had to proof-read the galleys."
What's it called?"
"Evolve or Perish."
He gave me a synopsis, which was essentially a philosophical autobiography: https://www.amazon.com/Evolve-Perish-Marcus-Dodd/dp/1936634279 (https://www.amazon.com/Evolve-Perish-Marcus-Dodd/dp/1936634279)
Soon after, I got a copy and finished it in a few days. Among the subjects that he wrote about was his encounter with John Lilly at Esalen and his visit with him many years later. So, to sum up, I read two autobiographies back-to-back that were full of synchronicities, and the second author wrote about his personal friendship with the first author. Marcus spent the last two years at a senior care facility and recently passed away at age 97. I am waiting for word of his memorial service at this writing. But before he passed, I was browsing in the UU used bookstore and noticed a copy of The Nature of Personal Reality. I looked inside and found that it had belonged to Marcus.

Hi LarryH,

Wow what an interesting series of sync events.

I'm also finding it interesting that many of your and my situations in this life, seem to be related. This probably is no surprise, given that we are both here at a Seth forum.  :)

I'm a person who has spent much time for very many years in the "New Age / occult" sections of the local bookstores, just to see what's new and interesting. I find a lot of the books in this section of the bookstores to be fascinating.  I also like anything to do with science, birds and flight, the ocean including dolphins and whales, and history. I love almost all aspects of all of these topics.

I came across John Lilly many years ago and purchased a copy of his book.  At the time, I was looking into the "New Age" section of a bookstore, in a section about animal communication.  I thought his book was fascinating.

Here about 2 years ago, I had to literally get rid of many of the books that I owned. I love books, have a library, but they are starting to overrun our space. I'm pretty sure I sold John Lilly's book off or gave it away.

I don't specifically remember him talking about Esalen, though I'm sure he probably did.  I thought that some of his ideas may have been applicable to alternate realities but I was really intrigued with them. He seemed very creative.

I'm a big fan of history. I especially find WW2 fascinating but I also like ancient Roman and Greek history as well as biblical historical scholarship.

I'm sure you probably know that Audie Murphy was the most decorated American Soldier during WW2.
I've read his book along with the book by Jimmy Doolittle and "Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambrose. I like a lot of Stephen Ambrose's books.

How interesting to find out that Marcus was in Patton's 3rd Infantry Division and that he met John Lilly at Esalen. Wow.

And then to find Marcus's copy of "The Nature of Reality" in the UU bookstore. That's incredible.

Now I've got a new book, Marcus's, to look forward to. I'm going to go find it so I can read it. It sounds great. Thanks for the heads up.  :)

Speaking of books, I've got an incredible story to share about finding a book in a "New Thought" Church bookstore, and while it's more of "creation" event than a sync event, I'll go ahead and post it here soon.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

Here's probably one of the most amazing events that has ever happened to me. I actually think that this may be a "creation" event, but it is also a synchronistic event as well.

Over the years I have read many books about peoples past life regression stories. In a past life regression, a therapist will typically hypnotize a client and take them back to a time in one of their previous lives. Then, the therapist will talk to their clients about the situations that occurred in that life. In some of these past life regressions, events in a previous life will occasionally somehow correlate with events in the present life and this past life therapy is sometimes used to help clients with healing in regards to certain situations.

In early 1996, I discovered and read a book by Dolores Cannon, titled "They Walked with Jesus". This book is about various people's experiences with Jesus, which occurred during their past life regressions.  At that time, I had been a Seth reader for about 18 years and so I was well aware of what Seth had to say about reincarnation, karma, peoples past lives and Jesus. Given what Seth had to say about Jesus, I found this book very interesting.

Then, after reading this book, I discovered that Dolores had previously written another similar book called, "Jesus and the Essenes", which was also about various people's experiences with Jesus, that occurred during their past life regressions. Because I was so intrigued with this subject, I wanted to find a copy of this book and read it as well. This is where I ran into problems.

Nobody seemed to have had a copy of this book. First I looked at our local library system and discovered that nobody had a copy of it. Then I went to all the local bookstores in the area, with no luck.

Now this was the mid 1990's. To be clear, there was no "useful" internet at the time and there also wasn't any Amazon.com. In addition to this, there was no Barnes & Noble Bookstores at that time either. Trying to find a book that nobody had, was not an easy thing to do, but I was determined and so I kept at it and tried to figure out where I should look next.  Along the way, somebody told me that this book was no longer in circulation, which was discouraging to say the least.

After about 2 months of doing this, on March 24, 1996, after attending a service at "The Living Enrichment Center", a "New Thought" Church that we were going to at that time, I decided check out the bookstore to see if there were any new books on their bookshelves. My wife who was with me, knew that I had been looking all over for this one particular book.

As I was looking at the books, in the LEC Bookstore, to my surprise, I found one, single, new copy, of this book, "Jesus and the Essenes", sitting on a book shelf.

Suffice it to say I immediately picked it up off the shelf went over and showed it to my wife. We were both very surprised that I was able to find this book in the LEC bookstore. Then, my wife and I took this book to the bookstore teller, so that I could purchase the book and we could leave.

When I got to the teller, I explained to her how I had searched everywhere for this book and I couldn't find it anywhere. Out of curiosity, I asked her, "Where did you find it?"  After spending a moment looking for a price tag on the book, she said to me, "You know, I'm not really sure; let me go check our records."

Then after spending probably about 5 minutes looking through their records, she came back and told me and my wife that she could find no records that anyone at LEC had ever placed any orders for this book. Furthermore, she said that she was also looking through all the records that she could find, because she was trying to figure out how much she should charge me for the book.

As it turned out, the only price on the book, was the price that was printed on its back cover, £6.95, which I believe must be in British pounds, because the book publisher, Gateway Books, was a British company. As a result of this she decided to sell it to me for $6.95, and I more than gladly paid her this price for this book.

Now, here's the thing, while looking for this book, I used all of the methods that Seth tells us to use to create your reality. I focused on the book with excited emotion and with the expectation that I would find it. I also used my imagination and visualized seeing and reading this book many times. Furthermore, I kept on focusing on it, being determined that I was going to find it.

Given this then, and the interesting way that this book showed up in the LEC bookstore, do you think I created it?   I do.  :)

Yes, I do. This reminds me that about a year ago, I heard that Michael Talbot had written a book called Beyond the Quantum prior to his classic The Holographic Universe (one of my favorite non-Seth books). I thought that it might be interesting, but just put it in the back of my mind. The following week, a friend suggested that we visit a massive used bookstore in Jacksonville, FL that I had never been to. We spent hours there browsing an acre of used books. I was not looking for anything in particular, but was glossing over the physics section, and there was the book. Of course, I bought it. I was surprised to find that it had an entire chapter on Jane Roberts and Seth.

Two anecdotes re: the earlier mention of Audie Murphy: When I was 5 (1955), my mother took me to California on vacation. We went on a bus tour of the homes of the stars. I don't remember this, but much later my mom told me that we stopped at Audie Murphy's home, and he came on the bus and shook hands with all of us. Then, in 2014, I was on a bus tour of France with my parents and oldest daughter. It was a 60th anniversary tour of the route through France that  the 3rd Infantry Division had taken as part of the liberation. We stopped at the site where Audie Murphy had displayed his heroism. My daughter was somehow chosen by the French contingent to assist with laying a wreath at the memorial.

Hi LarryH,

Thanks for the info about the Michael Talbot book, "Beyond the Quantum". I checked out Amazon, and it sure appears to be a rather "rare" book. I've got it on my laptop now under a list of "Interesting Books" that I want to read.

I've always been intrigued with the "Holographic Universe" concept, though oddly, as much as I enjoy physics and philosophical ideas, I've never actually read that book. I think that this has just been an issue of so many awesome books, and so little time.  :)

I checked on Amazon, to see if Michael Talbot had written any recent books but it says that he died of leukemia in 1992. I think the Holographic Universe book was his last one. That's too bad. :(

I had no idea that Mr. Talbot knew anything about Seth and Jane.  I think that Seth and Jane have probably made a much bigger impact on the world and any of us actually realize.

That's really neat that you got to meet Audie Murphy, though its too bad, you don't remember this.
I know how that goes, there are several things my older sisters tell me that I did when I was little, and I don't recall any of them.  Some of them, probably for the better. :)

I like the sync event where your daughter got to assist in the laying of the wreath at the memorial.

On a visit to my parents' home, I noticed that whenever my mom would read the paper or use her computer, she would always hold her bifocals up with one hand to see clearly. I suggested that she get prescription reading glasses. She seemed non-committal about the idea. Later that evening, we were watching a DVD, and I had the remote with me on a La-Z-Boy type chair. I got up once during the movie. When the movie was over, we couldn't find the remote. I reached around the seat to see if it had slipped between the seat and the armrests or the back, with no luck. Later, it occurred to me that I had reclined the seat, so I reclined it again and was able to reach much deeper between the seat and the back. Sure enough, I could feel the controller - but every time I touched it, it moved deeper until I couldn't reach it at all. I went around the back and was able to splay open the back cover and reach the DVD remote. I also found a golf tee, a pen, and a pair of glasses. They were my mom's prescription reading glasses that she had lost years ago - and they were still good.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

Yes, I can definitely relate to the lost item in the recliner situation.

My wife and I both have a recliner and it seems like every time I move them around when I've vacuuming the floor, I find something that we've misplaced (pens, remote controllers, change, etc.).

That's great that you found your Moms glasses and that they were still in good shape.

Post by: LarryH on September 02, 2018, 04:07:23 PM
I finally got the remarkable series of synchronicities related to Mickey Singer organized in chronological order:

Around 2004, I was living in Gainesville, FL working on contract for a company in Maryland. After a visit there, I was driving to Dulles Airport in my rental car when I passed a tan Chevy that had been stopped by the police. I returned the rental car and was on the shuttle bus leaving for the airport when a guy frantically pounded on the door. The driver let him in, and he sat next to me. It turned out that he was the guy stopped by the police for speeding. He excitedly asked where I was headed, and I told him I was returning to my home in Gainesville, FL. He said, "Oh, I went to University of Florida! Do you know Michael Singer?" I replied "No". "Well, you should really look him up! He's a great guy! We were roommates and best friends in college! He founded a successful tech company and recently sold it! He's a multimillionaire! He also founded an ashram in Alachua! You have to look him up!" Well, I wasn't going to look him up. But the next morning, the newspaper had a front-page article about Michael Singer.

Fast forward to 2015: I had moved to Alachua, and I was going to buy a book for an acquaintance at a used book store. It was Insights for the Age of Aquarius by Gina Cerminara, whom I had met 40 years before. It had been on the shelf for months, but it wasn't there anymore.

But on the same shelf was a book called Sai Baba The Holy Man and The Psychiatrist by Samuel H. Sandweiss, MD. I bought it because I had also met the author 40 years before. A mutual acquaintance had invited me to "Dr. Sam's" home, a beautiful modern wood and glass structure near the ocean in San Diego. It was an informal gathering of 8-10 people, most of whom were devotees of Sai Baba. The elderly woman with a thick Russian accent and wearing Indian garb who sat next to me that night was world-renowned yoga instructor Indra Devi. It turns out from the book that I bought that she was the one who first introduced Dr. Sam to the teachings of Sai Baba.

Having filed in the back of my mind the prior synchronicity regarding Mickey singer, another book that I bought that night, also from the same shelf, was his book The Untethered Soul. In summary, I went into the bookstore looking for a book by someone I had met 40 years ago and walked out with a different book by someone I had met 40 years before and a second book whose best friend I had met 11 years before.

I finished the Singer book, and it spoke to me unlike any I had read in some time. Then after I finished it, there was an article in the paper about the owner of the bookstore where I had bought it. In the article, she said that her favorite book was The Untethered Soul. So, with the Universe screaming at me, I finally decided to go to this guy's audaciously-named "Temple of the Universe", which it turned out was only 5 miles from my home. Then I would finally tell him his old college buddy said 'Hi' 11 years before.

Over the prior few months, I had gotten to know Bill, the guy who lives across the street. In our earliest conversation, I learned that he used to live next door to the founding family of the company that I was then working for. He watched their kids grow up, including the company's current CEO. I later learned that he once lived in Oceanside, CA, where I had moved from in 2003. Both of his children were born in the same hospital in Oceanside where my younger daughter was born.

So I finally went to the Temple of the Universe, and as I walked up to the entrance, I noticed two people ahead of me, and I recognized the man's voice. I asked, "Bill?" It was my neighbor. He asked if I had followed him there. I said, "No, long story."

We went into the 70's modern wood and glass structure. Most of the 50-plus people who eventually arrived sat on pillows. Bill and I sat on some of the few chairs. The walls had many pictures of Hindu gods and gurus as well as Buddhist and Christian images. Everyone was quietly meditating. Then some people started to play instruments and sing. After a while, I started to wonder if this was really going to work out for me. Finally, Michael Singer came in. He sat cross-legged on the floor and started to play an electronic keyboard and sing. Most others joined in. I would later find out that Singer wrote the music that he was playing. After the singing was over, he spoke without notes for at least an hour, and it was as amazing as I had found his book to be. Afterwards, a lady announced that she would soon have 72 copies of Singer's newest book, The Surrender Experiment at her book store (of course, she was the lady in the newspaper article). Later, we all gathered in the middle of a field, and Bill introduced me to Singer. Bill also introduced me to the owner of my daughter's favorite yogurt shop. Then, he took me on a tour of the grounds.

I later read The Surrender Experiment, which was, by the way, full of examples of synchronicity.

I only went to the temple a few more times, carpooling with Bill. But as we got to know each other, we discovered that not only had we  both lived in Oceanside, CA, and the same two cities in Florida, we had also lived about 5 miles apart in Orange County, CA and had also lived in Dearborn Heights, MI. Furthermore, he had been brought up in Hamtramck, MI, which is surrounded by Detroit, and I lived in Detroit for a year. So we had both lived in the same six metropolitan areas in three different states. Then in 2017, I went to a cousin's wedding in Detroit. It had been a Polish Catholic Church but was now only used for weddings. I texted Bill with a pic of the interior, and he immediately replied that the church was where he attended as a kid.

Last year, my former wife, a professor at Goddard College in Vermont, was meeting with several colleagues, and one of those in her department started talking about Mickey Singer. She mentioned that I knew him, and he said that he and Mickey were "best friends". The next time I saw Mickey, he confirmed that he has known her colleague for many years. So this series of synchronicities starts and ends with two people who claimed to be "best friends" of Mickey Singer's.

Hi LarryH,

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.

I wouldn't have thought that this many sync events could all occur and be so interestingly interrelated.

Wow. :)

I went to the University of Florida (Go Gators) in the fall of 1976, directly after getting out of the Air Force.
I lived on the 3rd floor of the Murphy Hall Dormitory for that 1 quarter, which as directly across from the UF football stadium. After this, I decided I wasn't quite ready for another 4 year commitment, but I stayed in Gainesville until the summer of 1977 when I travelled across the country and ended up in Oregon.  I sure had a lot of fun in Gainesville.  :)

Sometime in the early 1980's I saw a documentary on television about the various guru's of India. In this documentary, they talked about Sai Baba and mentioned that many people have claimed that he could materialize various items like rings, out of the air.  More recently I purchased a book title, "Sai Baba, Man of Miracles" by Howard Murphet, who was a follow of his. Howard definitely seems to believe that Sai Baba could actually materialize objects from nothing.

I've always wondered whether Sai Baba was the man that Seth was referring to when he said: "One such man has already been born in India, in a small province near Calcutta, but his ministry will seem to remain comparatively local for his lifetime."

This quote comes from "Seth Speaks" Chapter 21, Session 586, where Seth was talking about the men of miracles who will be born prior to the second coming of Christ.  As I understand it, Sai Baba lived in Puttaparti, which is not near Calcutta.

Most of those who were present at Dr. Sam's home that one night had been to India and had seen alleged miracles. The first time I had ever heard of him was in a yoga book in which this story is told: A woman comes to visit Sai Baba, and he asks her why she is wearing only one earring. She explains that her husband had given her this pair of earrings, but she had lost one of them. Her husband had since passed, but she wore the one earring to honor his memory. Sai Baba then asked, "Do you love me enough to give me your earring?" She replies that she does and hands him her earring. He hands it back along with the one that she had lost.

Interesting that you also lived in Gainesville and recently purchased a book on Sai Baba. From my perspective, the jury is out on him. There is a YouTube that suggests he used slight of hand, but if so, manifesting a specific earring is pretty good slight of hand. In Dr. Sam's book, he was quoted as saying that chakras don't exist. Food for thought.

Hi LarryH,

I've known about Sai Baba for probably about 40 years now. I recently learned about the Howard Murphet book and decided to get a copy because Howard takes a more "Western" approach to things and wasn't just another one of Sai's local disciples (see link to Howard Murphet book below).

I don't know if Sai actually materialized things or not, but I do believe that it may be possible for a man to do such things. Seth's teachings make me think that often, the only thing that limit us is our beliefs.

On the other hand, (I know, this is going to sound strange now that I've just stated what I did in the last sentence) I've never really been sure that the "chakra" concept is valid. I've always kind of felt like this concept was some past gurus explanation for how the energy field works and it was and has been accepted as valid without question for perhaps many thousands of years.  For some people, this chakra system is accepted without question.

From the writings of the critical historical scholars of both the Hebrew bible and the  Christian bible, I have come to question many of the accepted beliefs of many of the worlds religions.

To me this accepted belief that chakra's are valid is kind of like the accepted belief in the caste system or in the belief that you must find a Master teacher, or Guru, and follow him.  I believe that participating in a Guru / disciple relationship, can be risky and potentially be very unhealthy or dangerous such as with Charles Manson or Scientology.

I don't think that a belief in chakra's is unhealthy, but it may not be valid and just like many things, those who people who "believe" in chakras, just like those people who don't "believe" in synchronistic events, generally experience their belief systems, because they create there own reality.

For me, I like Seth's inner sense idea of the energy field tissue capsule.

I've always taken the Western stance that chakras are somewhat correlated to the endocrine system, though I don't believe there is a 100% correlation in location and function. It may be that there is some distortion in the original intuitive concept. Regardless, as you say, if one believes in the validity of how one deals with and interprets chakras, they become real for the purposes of that individual. I was just surprised that a spiritual teacher from a Hindu culture would say that. Then again, the Christ story, from Seth or the bible, upset conventional thinking of the time and place.

Hi LarryH,

Yeah, I agree.

From what I've learned about Sai Baba, he messages seemed to be much more aligned with love and helping each other. There didn't seem to be much of a Hindu influence in his teachings, unlike many of the other teachers from that part of the world.

If you don't mind me prying too much, I was wondering why was that?

jbseth, I found the chanting and singing in a language that I didn't understand to be boring and repetitive; if I didn't get one of the few chairs, I had to sit on the floor for about 2 hours, which I found painful; I enjoyed when Mickey finally talked, but it was essentially just like reading The Untethered Soul with different ways of saying the same things; I had other options that I found more to my liking. I think I went 5 or 6 times total. I will always value having gone, but it had diminishing returns for me. I may or may not go again.

Hi LarryH,

Thanks for your reply.

I was just wondering if you didn't go back because you moved out of state or something like that.

Yeah, I'm no longer comfortable sitting on the floor for more than about 20 minutes, much less 2 hours. That would never work for me. Plus I'm really a big Seth fan; something would have to be very good to make me want to sit on the floor for 2 hours.   :)

I don't think that a belief in chakra's is unhealthy, but it may not be valid and just like many things, those who people who "believe" in chakras, just like those people who don't "believe" in synchronistic events, generally experience their belief systems, because they create there own reality.
I think there is some truth in the chakras, linked to hormones in the body:

Hi Sena,

I used the Seth search engine to take a look at what Seth has to say about chakras. I thought that this would give us something interesting to talk about. To my surprise, it appears that Seth never said anything at all, about the chakras, which I find really hard to believe.  The only statement made about the chakras from the search engine, I've copied below.

This statement comes from "The Unknown Reality, Book 2,  Appendix 19, Note 5.

In this statement, Rob is referring to a comment that was made by Jane made prior to a Seth session, where Jane was talking about rubbing her eyes in a circular motion, where the third eye would be.

Then, in Note 5, Rob explains how in this comment made by Jane, the third eye is related to the chakras.  Below is this statement from Note 5 made by Rob.

UR2 Appendix 19: (For Session 712)

[... 69 paragraphs ...]

Many are familiar with the Hindu discipline of Yoga. In that ascetic system of breathing, meditation, and postures, the third eye corresponds to the sixth chakra, as one starts counting the positions of those seven nonphysical wheels of psychic energy from the base of the spine to the brain's cerebrum.

Seth actually has very little to say about Eastern philosophies. This I take as a mark of his genuineness. Suppose there was a fake channeler, he/she would tend to spout New Age stuff, much of which is from Eastern philosophies.

Hi Jbseth,

I'm starting to wonder if Seth knew if he spoke about certain topics then the books never would have been published.
Maybe that's why he didn't mention much on the chakras.
I'm kinda surprised at times Seth even got published. There is a control structure on this planet that doesn't like to be challenged.

Hi Sena, Hi T.M., Hi All,

The more I think about this issue of Seth having never said anything about the "chakras", the more I believe that this was probably just not a high priority discussion item for him, and it just never came up.

In addition to this, it appears that Seth never spoke said anything about "Chi", the Chinese concept of the vital force behind all of life, or the related Hindu concept of "Prana" either.

Again, maybe this was probably just not a high priority discussion item for him, and it just never came up.

Hi T.M.

I don't think that Seth ever worried about certain topics being to "hot" to publish.  On the other hand, I do think that Jane was concerned that some these topics were too "hot" for her personally, and as a result of this, she did block Seth on occasion.  Along with this, she also never for example took the time to gather the information from Seth for the "Christ" book and I'm pretty sure that this was very much intentional on Jane's part.

I don't personally believe however, that this had anything to do with why Seth didn't discuss the chakras.

Last night, I was at a meeting called 'Psychic Circle', where attendees share their psychic experiences and discuss related issues. One person asked what we thought was happening with poltergeist activity. I mentioned that many of these phenomena have in common the presence of a young teenage girl, often troubled in some manner. I had never put together the concepts of chakras and Chi with this phenomenon, but it suddenly made sense. A young teen would be going through chaotic hormonal changes, thus the endocrine system, thus chakras, and the Chi or life energy generated by those changes might be manifesting in uncontrolled ways. In a way, it is a synchronicity that the discussion here veered this way just before the question was asked last night for me to make the connection.
___

I have another sync story: In 1982, I heard about a 6-week seminar (one evening per week) about Seth. I went to the first lecture, which was conducted by two men who had attended Jane Roberts' ESP classes (Andy Hauck and O.G. Tigerman). When I entered the room, I noticed two attractive women sitting together, and I said 'Hi' to them. They looked at one another and laughed. I took the hint and sat on the opposite side of the room. Since the lecture series was some distance away, I decided not to attend the remainder of the series.

Several weeks later, a co-worker asked me if I could meet him and his wife at a local restaurant on the weekend because he wanted me to tell his wife about Seth. He had relayed to her some of our conversations, and she was intrigued. We arranged to meet for brunch in Laguna, about 30 miles away from that lecture series. While we were discussing Seth, I looked over and saw that O.G., one of the two men who had conducted that lecture was eating nearby. I said hi to him, and he remembered me. He knew that I had only gone to the first lecture, but he said that he was having a party for the attendees the following Saturday, and I was welcome to come. I did come and had a good time interacting with the other attendees. As I prepared to leave, one of those two young women walked in the door. O.G. introduced us, and we immediately hit it off. We began dating, and two years later, we were married. Even though the marriage is dissolved, we stay good friends. Our two daughters can thank Seth for their present incarnations, though I know Framework 2 pulled many other strings.

Hi LarryH,

I really like that story. Especially the part where you were just about to leave and in walks your future wife.  :)

I'd say that you and your ex-wife's 2 daughters each made an interesting choice for themselves; to come into this life, where both their parents knew about the Seth teachings.

What a head start is that.  :)

Hi All,

Here's both a synchronous story and a creation event story that occurred to me many years ago.

In May of 1983, I had somewhat of a friend/girlfriend who was in the mist of rebounding from a previous relationship and as things worked out, we ended up breaking up. Being somewhat depressed about this whole situation, I decided that I was tired of having this happen to me and I wanted something more out of life. I figured that I too was worthy of having a happy and healthy relationship with a woman in my life.

At this point, I had been a Seth reader for about 5 years and I knew all about his, "you create your reality" concepts and basically I believed that this was probably true.  I honestly believed that if you strived really hard and used a great deal of determination, you could accomplish many things; the power of positive thinking kind of thing, but I never actually tried or used Seth's ideas themselves.  As a result of this, I thought, OK, let's really give this Seth stuff an honest try. If Seth is correct about this, then I should be able to focus my attention on what I want and receive it.

So then, I started to focus my conscious thinking on seeing myself in a wonderful relationship with a woman and having a happy life. I really did this and spent time consciously focusing on this for about 8 weeks or so. I was really determined to see if Seth's concepts would really work. I didn't figure I had anything to lose by trying it out.

In early August 1983, I went to a local bar with a great dance floor called "Earthquake Ethel's". This was an awesome place where they had lighted disco balls, 3 dance floors, one of which was lighted, perhaps 6 large screen TV's and an awesome powerful surround sound system.  In 2018 terms, this doesn't sound like it was all that special, but in 1983, this was about as close as "state of the art" as you could get.

Every night at 8 pm, they simulated the earthquake from the 1970's movie "Earthquake" using the surround sound system while showing scenes from the movie on the big screen TV screens. During this particular night I noticed a woman and her girlfriends all walked in, grabbed some drinks and then sat down at a table near the dance floor. After a few minutes, I went over and asked this woman if she wanted to dance and she said yes.  We ended up dancing all night and to make a long story short, 8 months later we ended up getting married and here now 35 years later we are still married and very happy to be with each other.

Suffice it to say, I'm a very strong believer in Seth's concepts that you can change your world for the better by using his methods.

jbseth, so we both got married in 1984. What does your wife think about Seth? My girls, both brought up as Unitarian Universalists, are now on their own paths. The older one is agnostic, while the younger identifies as Christian. However, both are open to the ideas of Seth, and in fact, I text the younger one a Seth quote every morning. And if I don't, I hear about it.

Hi LarryH,

Thanks for asking.

When I met her, my wife was what we now call a "recovering" Baptist.  :)

Her father was a Deacon in the Baptist church, I believe it was Baptist, and so she spent many years around the Christian based concepts.  However, she never felt quite right about some things that the Christian churches taught like being a "sinner" from birth and had some nagging doubts about many of the other Christian ideas.

She was pretty open-minded when I met her, and she still is today. She's not quite the Seth follower that I am, and she's never taken the time to read any of the Seth books, but she probably knows more about Seth than many people, because I'm always talking to her about what Seth has to say on some topic.

She likes Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, many of the "New Thought" teachings, and we're both very comfortable with UU churches and their philosophies. We're always sharing our dreams and talking about what the symbolism means to us and reminding each other our beliefs when the other person seems to be down.

She's definitely not an atheist, but she doesn't quite share the same understanding that I do about critical historical biblical scholarship. When I tell her that I don't believe that Jesus ever did many of the things it says in the New Testament, she reminds me that Seth says there are many probable realities, which usually puts me in my place.  :)

While I would say that her personal spiritual "philosophy" may not be quite as in-depth as mine, how she demonstrates her spirituality in life by the way she demonstrates love, is quite a bit beyond, where I'm at.

Hi LarryH,

Your "Psychic Circle" meeting sounds really interesting.

I think that in many cases you may be right in regards to your poltergeist comments.
It often seems to me that these poltergeist activities seem to have something to do with someone who is having a significant amount of emotional distress in their lives. My guess is that these people, with there powerful emotions are drawing up massive amounts of energy, and it is this energy which is probably released is uncontrolled way, that is causing these poltergeist type of activities.

Seth talks about how "emotion" is the driving force that helps to bring about reality creation. I think that powerful emotions can also play havoc in the energy field. It definitely does so in the Psychological reality.

I suspect that these people typically may not even realize that they "can" do this, or that they "are" doing this, and along with this, I also suspect that in most cases, the probably have no idea "how" they are doing this.

As with your poltergeist sync event, I've noticed quite often, that if I have some sort of situation in my life and if I leave it alone for awhile, quite often, my inner self will build up the exterior events in my life such that these exterior events seem to communicate some sort of message to me.

When this occurs and when I recognize it, I often think to myself with a smile that, "the universe, is talking to me".   :)

Synchronicity can play a part in matters of life and death. In my freshman year in college, I had a roommate Bob who was kicked out of the program after the first semester. He stayed for the next semester, taking random classes, but aspirations had been dashed, and he went into a deep depression. One day, he told me that he had nothing to live for and was thinking of doing himself in. Long story short, I got in touch with the school counselor, who made an appointment for Bob with a psychiatrist at a local hospital for that afternoon. I got him out of bed (it was already afternoon), and he said, "This time, you've gone too far, Larry!" as he quickly got dressed. We took the bus together and got off within a few blocks of the hospital. It was a cold Detroit day with slush on the ground. We walked quickly to make it on time. But there was a very short, very wide lady slowly waddling down the sidewalk in front of us. We darted around her and continued to the hospital. At one point, I looked back, and she was perhaps 100 feet behind us. Then, in what seemed like an unusually short time, she was right behind us. I heard her ask, "So, you boys want to splash slush on me, do you?"

I was confused, since I knew I didn't do that, and I was unaware of my roommate doing it. But I was also confused with how this lady caught up with us so quickly. I was apologetic, but Bob's response was rude. The lady then said, "I recognize you boys. You were the ones who stole my purse two years ago."

I explained to her that neither of us lived in Detroit two years before. Bob continued to berate her, telling her that she was crazy, etc. She continued to insist that it was us who had stolen her purse. Then, she said, "I have a weapon, and I will use it!"

I looked down and saw her hand around a large wooden knife handle, with the blade mostly concealed in her purse. She had us backed up against a picket fence in front of the hospital. I continued to express our innocence and to apologize for whatever happened when we had walked past her. Bob continued in his belligerent manner until he finally saw the knife. At that point, his demeanor changed, and he became polite. This changed the woman's attitude, and she finally said, "Oh, so it wasn't you boys who stole my purse?"

We both said, "No."

That satisfied her. We walked together up the steps of the hospital. I opened the door for her. She went left, we went right. Bob made it to his appointment. After he came out, I asked him how it went. He said, "That was a total waste of time. I'm never coming back here!"

Later, when we spoke about the lady with the knife, he said, "You know, when I saw that knife, I never wanted to live so much in my life."

Hi LarryH.

Wow. Synchronous events are certainly interesting. Here's a couple that are directly related to your latest post.

Just the other day, Sept. 5, 2018, I was right here in this Seth forum writing reply # 3 on the topic of "Seth on Abortion".

https://speakingofseth.com/index.php?topic=1549.0

In this reply, I was sharing with the group, what Seth calls "violations" because I thought that these were pertinent to this topic.

In, "The Nature of Personality, Chapter 8, Sessions 634 and 635, Seth talks about the things that man does that violate the natural instinctive sense that animals have.  Seth calls these things "violations".

In these sessions, Seth says that "Killing another human being is a violation."  He also says, "Killing while protecting your own body from death at the hands at another through immediate contact is a violation."

Then further down, he says, "Because you consider aggression synonymous with violence, you may not understand that aggressive – forceful, active, mental or spoken – commands for peace could save your life in such a case; yet they could."

Then today, you tell me the story of you taking your roommate Bob, to the hospital and on the way, this woman, who sounds like she may have had mental issues and was carrying a big knife, threatened the two of you. Then, as you and then your roommate recognized the situation that you were in, you took an active assertive role in looking for peace in this situation and as a result, "This changed the woman's attitude, and she finally said, "Oh, so it wasn't you boys who stole my purse?"  "

Then,

As I was reading this story, I was remembering how in the fall of 1976, after attending the University of Florida, for that one fall quarter, I decided to discontinue going to college for a while. As a result of this, I had to move off campus and so I asked my roommate Carl, if he knew anyone, who was looking for a roommate for maybe 6 months or so.

It turns out that he did. Carl introduced me to 3 of his UF friends who all lived together, off campus in a large apartment in a large apartment complex. These guys were looking for a roommate so that they could reduce their monthly apartment costs.

After this, I moved in with them and got myself a job. In the spring of that year, The Grateful Dead were having a big concert in Tampa. One of my roommates, who I'll call "George" though that wasn't his name got himself a lot of drugs (LSD, coke, marijuana, etc.; which were pretty easy for these guys to come by, in Gainesville, in 1977) prior to this concert. Then, George went to the concert, got high and had a great time.

The following week, after he got back from the concert, for the first couple of days I didn't see him. This wasn't unusual because our schedules were always out of sync (pun definitely intended). Then, on Wednesday, when I did see him, he seems to be having some difficulties focusing. I just thought that he was really tired or something. After trying to sleep for about 30 minutes, he got up and told me that he had been having trouble sleeping recently and so he took off and went to see some friends.

The next day, my former roommate Carl called me and asked me if I knew what was going on with George. I asked him what he meant and he told me that he took George to the hospital because he wasn't making any sense. I told Carl what George had told me about having some trouble sleeping.

Fortunately, Carl's father was a doctor and his mother was a nurse. Carl had the foresight to recognize that something was terribly wrong with George and got him to the UF psychiatric hospital. We contacted George's parents and they immediately flew down to be with him.

This was about 2 months before I moved away from Florida, and before I left, I stopped in to see how George was doing. Unfortunate, he still wasn't doing very well. After leaving Florida, I eventually lost touch with these guys and I never found out how it turned out for George. I sure hope everything turned out OK with him.

I haven't thought about this for a very long time until recently you mentioned living in Gainseville and  Mickey Singer.

So here's what we have. Four days ago, several of us on this site were musing over Seth's "violations" and in regards to this Seth, also says that assertive spoken words for "peace" can get you out of a life threatening situation. Then today you proceed to tell us a story about how, in the past, you and your roommate used assertive spoken words for "peace" and got out of a life threatening situation.

Next, in telling us this story, you tell us about how, your roommate in college got to a point where he needed to talk to psychiatrist about an issue he was having and then I recall a similar story about a roommate in college who needed to talk to psychiatrist about an issue he was having.

jbseth: Freshman year of college, roommate seeing a hospital psychiatrist, life threatening situations, both of us having lived in Gainesville. There's an echo in here!

I want to mention that in my last story, I never felt the least bit in personal danger. My concern about the woman with the butcher knife was not for my personal safety, but rather for the loose cannon next to me, who was obviously not at his best that day. It was not me who needed to be shocked back to realizing that he wanted to live. Note how there was this initial intention to intervene with a person contemplating suicide and a plan carried out (seeing the psychiatrist) that was ineffective. But what WAS effective was this coincidental threat to Bob's life just outside of the hospital. Framework 2 brought that woman with the butcher knife to save Bob from himself.

Hi LarryH,

Oh yeah, I didn't think that you were necessarily concerned for your life.

However, situations like that are extremely volatile and can very quickly get completely out of hand.

On a more personal note, I was raised in Fort Lauderdale, and so after high school and four years in the Air Force, I went to the UF in Gainseville.  While there, my friends and I use to occasionally drive over to Daytona Beach on Saturday morning and spend the day, body surfing, partying and just generally having a great time. My car did get stuck a few times on Daytona Beach, but I always had enough people with me to help me push it out.

I do miss swimming in the warm Florida ocean and gulf coast waters. The ocean water here off of the Oregon coast is pretty cold, even in the summer time.  :)

Wow Larry, you sure have had a lot of interesting experiences with synchronicity. More than I could ever imagine for the average person. I don't think you're average.

BTW I thought I'd add that I also lived in Florida for a while. But in Sarasota. From 77-82. Never been to Lauderdale for some reason, but have been to Daytona and a few other places. Had my fishing pole broken in half on the pier in Daytona. I think I hooked into a shark and it went right under the pier below my feet at lightening speed. Damn.

Deb, I don't know if it happens more for me or if I have just been paying attention more than most. I started writing them down in the '70's, or I might have forgotten some of them or at least some of the details. For a few weeks now, I have been preparing a talk on the topic, and when jbseth started this thread, I thought it would be an opportunity to organize my thoughts and get feedback. Of course, I wanted to include what Seth had to say about the topic, and I recently came across this:

After a series of synchronicities in the lives of Jane and Rob, Seth addressed the issue as follows (from TPS6, deleted session June 8, 1981):

"These are all quite mundane events, of course, yet they show over a period of a few days glimpses of the inner order of activity, similarities and coincidences that actually lie at the heart of events and serve as their true organization."

"These encounters in their own ways are meant to show you that other people do indeed mean well, that they send good wishes in your directions, and the small clues mentioned earlier are meant, again, to remind you of the inner unity and correspondences beneath events."

So what might all of these synchronicities say about reality? I thought that if I were to categorize those that I have compiled, I might see a pattern. Looking at the 17 synchronicities, I identified four categories: those that assisted in moving one toward a life path, those that offered spiritual guidance, those that fulfilled an intention in unexpected ways, and those that were simply reminders of Seth's "inner unity and correspondences between events". The results are as follows:

Life path: 3
Spiritual guidance: 7
Fulfilled intention in unexpected ways: 4
Reminder of inner unity: 5

That adds up to more than 17 because some of the examples fell into more than one category. One could say that all of the examples were reminders of inner unity, but I limited that number to only the examples that did not fit into the other categories.

TPS4, deleted session Nov 19, 1977: "All of your exterior communication, your physical events, national affairs, and private gatherings, are the result of the interrelationship of subjective realities, whose very basis is not physical at all. The power that moves the world does not come from the world, but at each moment comes into the world."

Hi LarryH, Hi Deb,

I've been watching the news recently and monitoring Hurricane Florence, and I've got to say, that is one thing I don't miss about Florida.

During the 15 years or so that I lived there, I got to experience several of these hurricanes, and boy we were lucky. During that time we never got hit by one of those super Hurricanes like, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Camille (which hit Biloxi Miss in the 1970's with 200 mph winds) or Hurricane Andrew (which hit south Florida in the early 1990's with >150 mph winds) and I wouldn't care to experience that at all.

LarryH,

Thanks for the info on the Michael Talbot books. The local library didn't have a copy of either one of these 2 books (The "Holographic Universe" or "Beyond the Quantum") and so they did an worldwide interlibrary request for me and the "Holographic Universe" just showed up today.  I don't know why, I never bothered to read this book before, in thumbing through it really quickly, I can see that it's amazing.

I should get the "Beyond the Quantum" book sometime soon and after reading these two, I'll do the same thing and see if they can find and borrow a copy of "Evolve or Die" by Marcus Dodd.

Thanks again for the tip.    :)

I did enjoy the book, but at least to some extent, it was because I knew him. The most fascinating anecdote was that near the end of the war, he and a driver were in a jeep traveling through the countryside alone when they were surprised by a small group of German soldiers. They thought they would be taken prisoner. But someone went to get the German commanding officer, who told Marcus, who was a 1st Lieutenant, that they wanted to surrender to him. He asked the officer how many soldiers he had. He answered, "13,000." Marcus said that he could not handle that many, and asked them to stay put for a day while he went back to base where he had 100 in his command. They agreed, but it took him a week to get permission. When he finally got back, they were still there. The commanding officer suggested that his officers be allowed to keep their weapons so that they could assist in controlling the other German soldiers. Marcus agreed. They took the prisoners back without incident.

When I was on the bus tour in France, the leader of the tour had also been in the 3rd infantry division, and I told him that story. He said, "I remember hearing that!" I ended up giving him Marcus' book, and I gave Marcus that guy's book.

My library has neither one and I can't find the Evolve or Perish book anywhere. Not even Amazon. Maybe I need to drive up to Boulder and check out the used book store.

Or maybe it will just show up on my front stoop this afternoon.  ::)

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

I've been reading Michael Talbots book, "The Holographic Universe" and I just came across the section in Chapter 3 titled, "A Flaw in the Fabric of Reality". In this section Michael describes "synchronicities".

In this section of his book, Michael Talbot talks about the classic example of synchronicity being Dr. Jung's scarab story.  In this example, Dr. Jung was treating a patient who was somewhat resistant to therapy. One day while this woman was in his office she was telling Dr. Jung about a dream she had involving a scarab beetle. Dr. Jung was thinking about telling this patient that in Egyptian mythology, the scarab beetle represented rebirth. While he was pondering this issue, a scarab beetle made a tap on his window. It was the only time that a scarab beetle ever appeared at his window. He opened the window and the beetle flew in while he was interpreting this dream for this patient. The woman was so stunned by this, that she tempered her excessive rationality and from that point on, her response to therapy improved.

Then in the very next paragraph, Michael Talbot writes:

"Jung encountered many such meaningful coincidences during his psychotherapeutic work and noticed that they almost always accompany periods of emotional intensity and transformation: fundamental changes in belief, sudden and new insights, deaths, births, even changes in profession. He also notices that they tended to peak when the new realization or insight was just about to surface in a patients consciousness."

LarryH, you mentioned that you were putting together some information for a talk on synchronicities. If you haven't already considered these insights by Dr. Jung, and you probably have, then this information might be helpful to you as well.

Then, as if this wasn't interesting enough, on the very next page, Michael Talbot mentions that Dr. Jung coauthored a book with physicist Wolfgang Pauli, titled, "The Interpretation and Nature of the Psyche".  I knew that Jane Roberts / Seth has written a book whose title had to do with "The Nature of the Psyche" but I never knew that the Dr. Jung, the man who developed the concept of the "collective unconsciousness" also wrote a book who's title had to do with "The Nature of the Psyche".

And why did I discover this? Because I'm reading a book that I had never bothered to read previously, and that I was "inspired" to read because LarryH told me that this is one of his favorite books. This occurred here in this Seth forum, where we are discussing "synchronicities"

Very interesting.  :)

jbseth, I did have the scarab story almost exactly as stated from another book. But I think the next part that you quote from the Talbot book would be a good addition, so thanks for that. I hadn't even considered checking that book for reference material.

Post by: LarryH on September 16, 2018, 09:37:21 PM
One Christmas many years ago, I got a book from my parents, written by my cousin Dr. Jeffrey Bonner, called Sailing with Noah. He is CEO of the St. Louis Zoo. The book is a collection of zoo stories from around the world. We decided as a family to go to see Night at the Museum, the Ben Stiller comedy. After we got back, I decided to start reading my cousin's book. Early in the book, he tells of getting his PhD in Anthropology at Columbia University. While there, to help with expenses, and at the suggestion of Margaret Mead, he took a job in the anthropology department at the Museum of Natural History. This was the first I ever knew that my cousin had worked at this museum, synchronistically right after we had watched a movie that had been filmed at that very museum.

As I continued to read, Jeff relayed his own synchronicity (although he didn't call it that). The museum experience eventually led to a ten-year career as director of the St. Louis Science Center. One day, he received a call from an executive recruiter who wanted to know if he would be interested in becoming president of the Indianapolis Zoo. Since he knew nothing about zoos, he thought it would make sense to visit the zoo before he talked to anyone about working there.
A week later, he was on a plane to Indianapolis. He arrived early and had plenty of time to kill, so he stopped at Smiley's Pancake House for breakfast. It was a run-down, eclectically decorated place with reproductions of Red Skelton's clowns and Elvis on black velvet. His booth, however, had only a framed quotation on the wall, from the book, The Outermost House, by Henry Beston:

"We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature, and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby the feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken a form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."

He described the coincidence of this quotation over his bench in a roadside pancake house as "singularly improbable", but as beautiful a thought as he had ever seen expressed. He thought it had been placed above the booth specifically for him. He spent many years at that zoo and later CEO of the St. Louis Zoo. It's a great example of Jung's observation of synchronicities often coming at times of (among other things) "...changes in profession."

Hi LarryH,

Yeah, that's a great example of Jung's synchronicities having to do with a job change.

After reading your post. I was thinking that I don't know of many examples having to do with job changes when I suddenly remembered the following. This story falls into the category of when one door closes another one opens.

In 1987, I was working for a large electronics firm as a "reliability" technician. For most of the 7 years that I had worked for this company, this was my job title and job function. In 1987, times were tough and I was placed on a "redeployment" list. Basically, I was told that I had 3 months to find another job within the company or I'd be let go.

As it so happened, there was an opening in another group in this company for a "reliability" engineer. Prior to being placed on the redeployment list, I didn't seriously consider applying for this job because I only had a Associates degree in electronics and typically you need a Bachelors Degree in electronics to be hired as an electronics engineer.

Having nothing to lose, I applied for the position any and given my seven years of "reliability" experience, I was hired.

As a result of being on the redeployment list, I was forced into a position of applying for a new job and as a result of this, not only did I get a new job, but I also got a sizeable increase in salary as well.

As we often say, "God is good, all the time?"  :)

I don't personally believe however, that this had anything to do with why Seth didn't discuss the chakras.

jbseth

Chakras keep coming into my awareness.  I used to attend a "Yoga for Backs" class and my instructor always mentioned chakras.  My wife does yoga classes online and the instructor mentions them frequently.  So, having no real idea what they are, I had to look them up.  It seems that many people accept that they exist, even without any actual proof.  I recently read the book Mind to Matter, by Dawson Church.  He talks a lot about the energy body, what it means and mentions chakras often.  This book reads like a college research paper, including many studies and experiments to support what he's saying.  Further research shows me that the concept of 7 chakras is but one interpretation, and a newer one at that.  Turns out that there are many interpretations of this and some say that there are many more energy centers than just 7.

Hi usmaak,

As I understand it, in Hinduism, the life force is called prana, yoga is a Hindu practice and there is a belief that there are 7 energy centers, the 7 chakras.

Given this Hindu based relationship between these concepts, it is not a surprise to me that a yoga instructor would talk about the chakras.

Again, as I understand it, in Chinese medicine, the life energy is chi, and practitioners describe a meridian system for how energy flows through the body. Again, as I understand it, there are something like 12 or 24 meridians.

I think it is the recognition of this difference between the Hindu system and the Chinese system that makes me wonder when people see chakras, are they just seeing what they believe exists; and I also wonder the same when people see meridians.

Kind of like how Caine "believed" that the pool contained acid.

I don't often notice synchronistic events, but here's one that just happened to me.

So we have been mentioning the TV show Kung Fu in a couple of threads.  I watched it when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old.  We used to have these family friends and me, my sister, and my mother would go over their house in the evening so that the moms could watch some show like Love American Style. The kids (five of us) would all sit in another room and watch Kung Fu.  My mom lost touch with our friend's mom somewhere before I was a teenager for whatever reason.

Anyway, I joined a Facebook group for my old hometown and just today, I had a brief conversation with our friend's mom about memories.  One of the memories that I brought up was watching Kung Fu while she and my mom watched some other show.

I don't know if this qualifies, but I haven't talked to her for somewhere around 40 years.  It's funny that this memory came up in conversation.  And I haven't thought of that show for many, many years.  Until the last week, anyway.

A few weeks ago, I had told a friend that several of the large pizza chains had started in the Detroit area. These included Hungry Howie, Dominos and Little Caesars. I thought there was at least one more, but I could not remember. I speculated that it was Pizza Hut, but it was just a guess. A few days ago, I was listening to a downloaded radio interview on my MP3 player while on a walk. I wondered again about the origin of Pizza Hut. The interview had nothing to do with the topic until just a few minutes later when the person being interviewed mentioned that two brothers had come home from Europe after World War II and opened a pizza restaurant in Wichita, KS and named it Pizza Hut.

Hi LarryH,

So after you first speculated that the other franchise was Pizza Hut, how many other times do you think that you thought about this, in the last few weeks? I'm just curious as to whether you may have created the Pizza Hut answer. Either way its pretty awesome.  :)

I think the question came up in my mind every few days since the first conversation, so there would have been 4 or 5 other times. Yesterday I finally did a google search to get the answer to whether there was a fourth chain from Detroit. There were a few others, but none that I had heard of. The search did confirm the three that I had mentioned. The synchronicity had no great profound meaning, just a "wink from the hidden domain".

Hi LarryH,

If you've thought about this say 4-5 times, in the mean time, then maybe this was just your inner self getting back to you on the Pizza Hut question that you had in your mind.

You've had some amazing synchronistic events occur in your life. Have you ever consciously intentionally tried to create something as well. My guess is that you're probably really good at it.

On a side note, I find it interesting that some franchises seem to be more regional than others. We have Pizza Huts, Dominos and Little Caesars here in Oregon, but I've never heard of a Hungry Howie Pizza place.

That's a good question. It has more than one answer. First, I have always been "lucky", and that may be due to a knack for being in the right place at the right time. I "expect" things to work out, even if I have no idea how that will happen. My synchronicities often have that characteristic. That most recent one may be an example of consciously intending to have a sync. I had been thinking that of all those syncs that I had shared here, none of them were very recent, and that it would be nice if it were to happen again. And there it is.

I am retired, but I had a successful career as both industrial designer and mechanical designer. Those are both "consciously trying to create something", though in a different sense from your question. However, the process is related, in that both involve imagination, visualization, and strong intention. Both also involve for me an active use of the subconscious. Whether work or general life-related, if I had a problem that I couldn't solve, I have used the technique of "sleeping on it", and a solution often presents itself the next day, even if I have no recall of a related dream.
Title: Re: Synchronistic Events
Post by: jbseth on October 05, 2018, 06:30:51 PM
Hi LarryH,

Do you really think that you're "lucky" and just happen to somehow be in the right place at the right time?

You say that you "expect" things to work out and "expectation" is a major focus of reality creation. In, "The Early Sessions", Book 2, Session 76, Seth says the following about "expectation".

"If a man wants to change his fate, desire is not enough, but expectation is. Desire may grow into expectation, but alone it is not enough. Expectation is actually the main trigger that switches inner data into the realm of physical construction. Without it, no physical construction results."

"Expectation is the force, then, that triggers psychic realities into physical construction."

"Emotional power behind your expectations powers your expectations into physical reality."

Regarding your comments about being an engineer and consciously trying to create something, I think the processes of doing that and consciously creating something in your reality (like a new job) are probably the same and both involve imagination, visualization, and strong intention.

In regards to "sleeping on it", I've never actually done that specifically. However, whenever I brainstorm a solution to a problem, I consciously put myself in a relaxed, almost meditative state of mind, and solutions just start coming into my mind.

Sometimes, I also wake up early in the morning, like 3 am, and being relaxed, I'll think about a problem and solutions just seem to come to me very quickly. This happened to me just last week as I was trying to figure out how I was going to top off some 20 foot arbor vitae bushes by myself while keeping them from falling into my neighbors back yard.

I put "lucky" and "expect" into quotes on purpose in my prior post. Both words are dog whistles for those who understand the principles of reality creation. Wink, wink.

I think we are all here to practice reality creation. Most of us don't know that. Many of us are stuck in the role of victim to one degree or another, not getting the way in which victim-hood was a chosen role (though I want to make clear that this does not excuse a perpetrator). The process of reality creation is not obvious, and there are many lessons to be learned along the way. There is a company (I forget which) that asks its employees to "fail spectacularly". It even gives an annual award for Failure of the Year. High risk, high reward. We are in a tough school, and we are all at different stages of development. Another explanation is that some of us chose the easy classes this time around (having set up less extreme challenges for a particular life).

Hi LarryH,

Hey, I like what you said in your post.

"I think we are all here to practice reality creation. Most of us don't know that. Many of us are stuck in the role of victim to one degree or another, not getting the way in which victim-hood was a chosen role (though I want to make clear that this excuses a perpetrator). I think that these are important truths about how physical reality works.

I believe I have another synchronous event.  Just an hour or so after I posted my previous message here, I was taking a look at "The Early Session" Book 9, and a came across Session 493, July 14, 1969, which I haven't previously read.  I've only started Book 9 but haven't completed it yet.

Anyway, Session 493 is kind of interesting in that it is somewhat different than most of the other sessions in these early books. It begins with Jane giving her impressions while in a light trance. Apparently she starts to get some impressions about something having to do with an accident, possibly involving her and Robs friends Bill and Peggy Gallagher. It sounds like this might consist of an automobile accident near a coffeehouse. Possibly involving 2 other young men. In this accident Bill's right hand or right arm could be severely injured. Jane gets very uncomfortable about this and decides to call Bill and Peggy but they don't answer. Then about 10 minutes later she tries again, Peggy answers and they talk.  After this Seth comes through.

Seth says that Bill has been driving himself too hard; I think he means at work. Then Seths says:

"Such an accident would occur in a period of exuberance, rather than for example when he was driving in connection with his duties at work. In letting down, there is the danger that he would let down too far, forgetting caution."

Then Seth talks about how the information given by Jane automatically changes the probabilities. Then after this Seth says:

"The two lads involved may very well cause an accident in any case, unless actions of their own alter their reactions."

After this Seth talks about this situation where he says that Bill would want to hurt himself and become the victim in such an accident while the boys would want to hurt others and that unnumbered elements can still intrude to change their probability however the probability when Ruburt perceived the impressions were that the event would occur.

Then along with this, Seth also says:

"The knowledge prickles the balloon of emotions that were building up within our friend. Otherwise they would emerge in an over-exuberance when relieved from work pressure, resulting in carelessness. Beneath this of course the psychological need to be hurt, to punish himself, because he cannot strike out against a superior in a work situation."

Following this, there is another section in this session on Jane's notes of July 18, 1969 and after this another section on the ESP Class of July 15, 1969. In this ESP Class, Seth tells the class:

"When you immense yourselves completely in physical reality, then you have no time for the inner voice."

I still haven't finished reading this session yet, but I think it's kind of interesting how after earlier today asking the question in this forum about why "unlucky" event occur, I then was led to take a look at this session.  I think this probably qualifies as a synchronous event.

Very well said! I had to search for fail spectacularly, it sounded like something Apple would say but I never did narrow it down. Point well taken though, we ARE here to create and too many people also hold back because of fear of failure and even self-disappointment. I have a hard time finding time to paint and draw and I realize a good part of that is I am my own worst critic and don't want to disappointment myself. After seeing this quote, I just had to smile given the nature of our discussion here regarding synchronistic events, Michael Talbot and these 2 books.

That made me smile. When I travel, I always take at least one printed book with me and then I have a load of things on my laptop. This time I brought two printed books. I just had to bring the Thavis book (https://speakingofseth.com/index.php?topic=1577.0) because I figured I could get a quick feel for it. I read as much as I could handle and then left it on the plane for rehoming. The other book, which I started reading on the same flight, is Holographic Universe by ummm, ummm, drumroll please, Michael Talbot. Coincidence or synchronicity? I don't know. I did get the idea to buy the book from you or Larry, figured I have volumes of Seth on my laptop so I brought that for when the laptop battery dies. I'm really enjoying the book so far, he makes it very easy to understand. Totally enjoyed the Lynne McTaggart intro. I loved The Field too, but could only get so far and it was over my head.

Oh, I did read most of Drawing on the Right Side many years ago, I was really impressed with explanations with the brain/drawing mechanics, the before and after drawings. A friend borrowed it a couple of years ago, I should get it back. The up-side-down drawing was especially useful for me. I struggle with shutting off the left brain. I'm a graphic designer, illustrator (not as often) and web developer, love the computer side of things and am a bit left dominant. It's that ego refusing to let go. But once I get it to back off the magic happens. The Zen of Drawing is very good too -- biggest takeaway is that you can't draw well if you don't see well, meaning quiet observation is the key and not the "hurry up and move onto something else" left brain mentality.

I'm not sure whether this is what LarryH, was referring to but apparently, the following quote is from Ransom Riggs: "If you must fail, fail spectacularly."

I did see that mentioned in my search, but didn't put together who Ransom Riggs was. Some of the best wisdom and quotes come from children's books. Another favorite quote, "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed." (The Little Prince) The Harry Potter series was amazing and even before I was introduced to Jane and Seth, I felt the books had to have been channeled. They were too perfect in so many ways — even tying up the smallest of details from the first books in the end.

Oh thanks for the vote of confidence for tonight's flight. I feel same way. Even the weather — yesterday morning Denver was cloudy and foggy, loads of turbulence as usual. Weather in Philly was affected by the hurricane — raining, dark, lots of wind  and lightening and turbulence both out of Philly (got as far as Boston) and all the way back. Rough landing, too fast, apparently little or no brakes, instant engine reversal upon landing. Then, today, the sun has been shining and right now the sky is baby blue and clear. A completely different atmosphere than yesterday. The plane is completely full, but I'm "expecting" a row to myself again. The only way I can sleep on a plane.

I do believe that sometimes we do discover why "the events of our lives" turned out the way they did, like this man, and sometimes we don't,

Yep, put that together with "There are no accidents" and there you go. I completely accept that things happen for a reason, whether I know what they are or not. Some people hate that way of thinking, they say it's too pat or cliché. For me, it sure beats thinking that things happen for no reason. I've often wanted to say this to my single friends who say there are no single good [men/women] left in the world, they've been betrayed by a [man/woman] once again, all [men/women] are jerks. See attachment below. I bite my tongue.  BTW despair.com is a fun web site. Demotivation. Their posters (https://despair.com/collections/posters) are priceless.

Quote from: LarryH (https://speakingofseth.com/index.php?msg=11670#msg11670)

Hi All,

An so, synchronous events continue on in our lives, real time.  :)

The other day, I started a new topic in this forum titled, "Is Life a Dream?"

In this topic, I mentioned an interesting statement made by Seth and I mentioned the song, "Row, Row, Row, your Boat", which ends in the words, "Life is but a Dream".

Last night, while partly reading comments made in this Seth forum, and while partly semi-watching TV with my wife, a commercial came on TV by "Casper Mattresses".  In this commercial, they used the phrase, "Life is but a Dream".

This is the first time in my life, I have ever heard of "Casper Mattresses" and the first time I have ever seen a commercial by them. I didn't even know that they existed.  When I heard the phrase, "Life is but a Dream" phrase, I just had to smile.

Here are some quotes that I gleaned from doing a Google Images search on synchronicity:

"Synchronicity is the universe's way of saying 'Yes'."

"Synchronicity is an ever-present reality for those who have eyes to see." -Carl Jung

"Synchronicity is choreographed by a great pervasive intelligence that lies at the heart of nature and is manifest in each of us through intelligent knowledge." -Deepak Chopra

Synchronicity: The experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated or unlikely to occur by chance, yet are experienced as occurring together in a meaningful manner

"Synchronicity is the Universe helping you with exactly what you need. Make sure you listen."

"There are no coincidences in the universe, only convergences of Will, Intent, and Experience." -Neale Donald Walsch

"The Universe does this thing...where it aligns you with people, things, and situations that match the energy you put out. The more you improve yourself and raise your vibration, the more you will see things that are beneficial to your well-being."

"Coincidences, synchronicities and serendipities are all signs from the Universe that you are on your true path."

"When the student is ready, the master appears."

Oh jeez, now I can't say whether that popped into my head after having read your story or not. I have read this entire thread but had been waking up groggy at 2 in the morning the past two weeks, reading several posts and then going back to sleep. So I could have seen it, stored it, and then it came out later. But it is one (maybe #1) of my favorite sayings because for me it's very true. I've only come to that realization over the last few years, and in looking over my life taking those steps outside my comfort zone have always resulted in the most satisfying experiences and life changes.

Yet I don't think I'd like to be as "uncomfortable as I can stand it," that sounds too much like life in the fast lane to me.

Great, varied list. I just came across the above definition the other day, it's attributed to Carl Jung (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronicity), which I found really interesting. I need to learn more about him: "Jung used the concept in arguing for the existence of the paranormal."  Sometimes I'm the last to know this stuff, where have I been all my life? He was a lot more than what I'd heard from a lifetime of hearing his name.

This could be an interesting read, or it could be entirely over my head:

Jung, Carl (1973). Synchronicity: An Acausal Connecting Principle (first Princeton/Bollingen paperback ed.). Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press. p. 8. ISBN 978-0-691-15050-5.

PS
I know the "when the student is ready" quote, but I think Seth also said something very similar to that. I'll look for it when I get the chance.

Last night I finished the book Hypnotizing Maria by Richard Bach. I was pleasantly surprised by the series of coincidences that occur in the story and the protagonist's insight in the midst of the book that was reinforced when it was repeated in italics at the end of the book: "Coincidence shall lead me to others who bring lessons for me to learn, and for whom I have lessons to give, as well."

I really like the phrase, "When the student is ready, the master appears." because I have experienced this several times in my life.

From my personal experience, I've found that, "the master", isn't always necessarily a person either.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

My wife and I have recently watched several episodes of a new show on TV called "God Friended Me".

This show may not be for everyone, but it's really pretty awesome. Its about a young man, who is somewhat of an atheist, who has an internet talk show. This young man, who's father is the minister of a church, get's friended by God on his smart phone. The stories are all about the people that this young man ultimately ends up helping out because of all the synchronous events that occur as a result of this.

It's very upbeat and positive.

Now that's a synchronous event.  :)

I'll have to look into that show. I don't have cable TV any more, just internet, so hopefully I can find it somewhere.

OK, here's something that could at least be considered a coincidence.

When I was getting ready to leave for this trip I decided to get some small gifts for the family we'd be staying with in Austria. Business partner/friend of my hubby, his wife, two teen daughters. I bought the older girl (17) a journal and on a whim decided to buy her a set of colorful fountain pens to write and draw in it. Pilot makes a set of 7 in really fun, bright colors. I have always loved fountain pens, have a small collection, and most people don't even know what fountain pens are these days.

Before we'd gotten to the presents, the older daughter was doing math homework at the kitchen table. With a fountain pen. She said she loves them and showed me her small collection. Needless to say the gift was a hit.

Oh, the younger girl (15) is into ballet and I'd bought her a sterling silver ballet slipper necklace. I added a Swarovsky crystal in her birthstone. Of course she loved it, no surprises there. She's still wearing it 4 days later. But her mother was the surprised one — she said she had been looking for the slipper pendant forever and couldn't find one anywhere. Amazon is my best friend. :)

This might better a better story of synchronicity:

One little story, which could be written off as coincidence: When I was debating whether I should make this forum or not, I went out to run an errand. Within a couple of minutes a car I was next to at a traffic light had a sticker  for Elmira College on the back. A while later, at another intersection, a different car had an Elmira, NY dealership sticker on the back. Later on, Elmira showed up on something else. Keep in mind I live near Denver, 1500+ miles away from New York. I finally decided it was Jane giving me the go-ahead nod. Am I delusional? Could be. But, to see Elmira not once, but three different times on one local outing is quite the coincidence to me.

Those, "on a whim" moments, like the one you had where you decided to buy this young woman a set of colorful pens, can be powerful intuitional nudges.

Love the story about the 3 incidences occurring in one outing, having to do with Elmira.

Hi All,

Recently, on Oct. 15, 2018, in the topic, titled "Thavis is Here", I referenced a quote that I have sometimes heard, "There are no "atheists" in foxholes."

Today, Oct. 21, 2018, while my wife and I were catching up on the recent TV episodes of the show, NCIS, one of the characters on the show said, "There are no "atheists" in foxholes.", I just had to smile.  

I suspect that these types of things probably occur much more often than we realize.

Nice one!

I just had one. I'm back in Prague, was supposed to fly home tomorrow but the flight was cancelled without warning, so we have an extra day here.

It's night, dark out, just had dinner, walked around a bit, crossed the Charles Bridge and took some photos with my iPhone which turned out pretty nice.

FYI my son is moving back home for a few weeks at the end of October, until his next housing situation is available. He's 23, often ignores our texts and rarely initiates contact. To his credit he's a sous chef, works long hours, but he still thinks his parents are nerds.

I just decided to send my son one of my photos with a text asking if he wants to move some things into the house ahead of time, and to let him know we'll be getting home a day late. As soon as I pressed Send I got a text from him asking if we were back home yet and how the trip was. I looked at my Sent message and saw it was still sending -- Internet is slow here and the photo delayed my message a few seconds.

While my original text was still being sent, I wrote back asking if we had texted at exactly the same time. Yes, we did. Considering my son's low contact rate, for me this was definitely a synchronistic event.  ;D

A little story of synchronicity and also precognition.

My 23 year old son moved back home Nov 1. A temporary arrangement as he was waiting for his friend W's lease to expire in 2 months. There is a saying that a grown baby bird does not fit so well back in the nest. Truth.

Three adults in one house, two cars. My son works about a 30 minute drive from my house, and as a prep cook sometimes works 12-14 hour shifts. He normally takes the 4 wheel drive vehicle to work (public transportation from here would make the trip 1.5 hours one way). On Nov. 24 unknown to me he decided to take my 2006 Prius to work. Gas mileage was his reason. We were expecting light snow that night, and that car is not the best in deep snow or on ice. I've driven it here for 12 years of summer and winter and everything in between, with no problem. But I am a seasoned driver.

The evening of the 24th, a Saturday, and at home, I had a bad feeling. I can't express it other than texting my son, "It looks bad out there." That was about 10:45 pm. His shift was to end at 11:00 pm. I didn't get a response. Typical.

True confessions: lately I head up to bed about 9 pm. I read and surf the net for as long as I can stay awake. That night, I was still awake around 11:30 pm. In bed, but still fully dressed. I had the strongest feeling that I should not sleep, or relax, or change my clothes. That is unusual for me.

At 11:27 pm I got a call from him, that he'd been in a bad (single vehicle) accident. He had refused ambulance service and we were on the scene within 10-15 minutes. He tried to pass a truck that was traveling at a low speed in front of him. He moved to the right lane, and spun out on ice. Hit a large sign, mowed down a tree, came to rest nose to nose with a street lamp. Ended up with a broken right wrist, recently increasing right rib pain which we will examine tomorrow. Could have been much worse. My car was old but in perfect condition, was a total loss. I loved that car.

The synchronicity part: The friend he is planning to roommate with had a 2008 Prius. He came to visit my son several days ago, after the accident. W told me he'd had a similar weather-related accident in the past, in a Jeep. Four days ago he also had an accident... in his 2008 Prius. Not weather related. The car is totaled. And he has a few fractured ribs.

Hi Deb,

I'm so sorry to hear about your son and his accident.  I hope everything turns out OK with him. Sometimes in an accident, our bodies go into shock and a day or so later, we discover aches and pains that we weren't aware of at first. I'll visualize healing energy for him.

As far as the car, that's really too bad. My wife and I had a similar experience years ago. We had a 10 year old Toyota Corolla and it was a great car. It got totaled in an accident and while the insurance gave us some money back for it, it was not nearly as much as this car was worth to us. I think it could have easily gone on for at least another 100,000 miles.

Title: Re: Synchronistic Events
Post by: Deb on December 05, 2018, 06:13:54 PM
Thanks jbseth. X-rays today show no rib fractures, so maybe just bruised bones. He'll recovery quickly.

As is typical for my "luck" -- the insurance company has been amazing and is actually sending a check that is double what research said my car was worth, because it was in excellent condition other than a little hail damage. But at 12 years old with 155,000+ miles on it, the car was the most reliable one I've ever had and could have gone another 100,000 miles. Other than a few tricky headlamp bulb changes that required some contortion and the use of inner senses (lol), everything still worked. I'm amazed at how safe the car ended up in being in such a crash. Drawers, visors and armrests having been flipped open tell me how hard the impact was.

I always feel things happen for a reason, and have been pondering the timing of this event and how it served as value fulfillment for several people all at once. I've got a little Seth in me. :)

The 2006 Prius has been replaced with a 2018 Prius of the same color. The new car is so smart I don't even have to think any more, it does it for me. This recent story (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/tesla-autopilot-police-speeding-sleeping-driver-california-steering-wheel-a8665811.html) is not far off from some of the abilities of my new car. And what was really amazing for me is that the new car was priced similarly to what I paid for the 2006 model.

A small event that I almost missed today.

I went to the local Floyd's to get a haircut this morning. My stylist was behind on her schedule, so I decided to pick a magazine off the rack to kill some time. Of the two dozen or so magazines with impossibly young and beautiful models and starlets on the cover, I settled for a tattered National Geographic dated Oct 2018. About half way though there was an article on jellyfish. That's when I remembered a dream from last night. I was walking somewhere near what I thought was a lake or stream. Washed up on a rock near the shore was a small jellyfish, maybe 2" in diameter. It looked just like a Moon jelly in the article (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/10/jellyfish-species-reproduction-feeding-ocean/). I didn't see tentacles, just the top, as it was lying flat on the rock. But I knew what it was. I can't say I've EVER dreamed about jellyfish, so while this was a small matter it was significant enough for me.

Oh, there was also an article about flowers being viewed under ultraviolet light (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/photography/proof/2018/february/glowing-flowers-ultraviolet-light/). Gorgeous. Talk about the senses being lovely liars (planning a response to that topic). There is much outside of our perceptible EMF range of vision and sound. There are insects and animals that have the ability to sense things outside of the human range, and yet most people only believe in what they can see, hear or feel.

Hi Deb,

That's awesome when that occurs (remembered that you dreamed about something last night, after you saw the dream symbol or experienced the dream event, the following day). This happens to me on occasion.

Sometimes, I'll also remember the dream the next morning, and then after this, I'll see the dream symbol or experience the dream event, later on in the same day or within a few days.

Does this happen to you too?  :)

Hi Deb,

I just took a look at those flowers photographed under UV light.

Wow, those pictures are beautiful. I especially liked the Bee Balm and the floral bouquet.  Like the Nat. Geo. article says, it does seem to make you think that you are on Pandora, from James Cameron's movie "Avatar".

I wonder if this is where he got the idea for that???

Thanks for sharing.

Great question, I don't know. I do love the bee balm as well. I went to his web site but it didn't explain how he got into the UV photography, although he does explain the process a little. I have a special interest in it because I used to have African Grey parrots and I'd read they see into the UV spectrum. Bees as well. Plus I'm a certified botanical illustrator although I haven't done any of that for too many years. His flowers would be a lot of fun to paint. When I was a kid I used to try to imagine what I was seeing in different colors because at some point I realized that people probably see colors differently. Such as, what I see as blue may what you see as my orange, but we both agree to label the color "blue." I'd try to imagine a yellow sky, pink grass, etc. I think part of the charm of these photos for me is that they provide such a different color spectrum from what I'm used to.

It happened again, another dream connection!

I'm starting an art class tomorrow. Many years ago I was teaching my son and a couple of his little friends how to draw. I had bought them all art supplies, we didn't get too far, and about a year ago I gave my son all the supplies we hadn't used. He was storing them in a closet.

This morning I asked if he still had some sketch pads. He pulled out 5 sketch pads and gave them all to me. I picked one, put it aside. I just now opened it and there, on the first page, written in little boy printing:

[heart] to mom.
I love you alot its hard
to explain I wish could
do it but it not that
plain. I love mr. blue
I
like that mr. blue
is blue. I think
he does too. How about you?

Mr. Blue is a stuffed bear that I was given at my baby shower. He was my son's favorite stuffed animal and I still have him somewhere in the house.

Seeing this reminded me that I had a very brief dream about Mr. Blue last night. In it, my son was with a friend, who was holding Mr. Blue. I was explaining to the friend about Mr. Blue and that the toy is actually a little older than my son, who is 23.

I have NEVER dreamed about this toy before, and no reason to have dreamed about it last night, I haven't thought about the toy in years.

;D

Most of the synchronistic events, all of the quotes from Seth and others, and my accompanying opinions are already in this thread. I think I shared about 10 synchronicities, and the talk lasted about 1/2-hour. It was very well-received with many positive comments afterwards and requests to speak again. Maybe my next topic will be Seth. This forum and the Seth search engine will be great tools if I choose to do that.

Hi ALL,

Last week on Tuesday, I was looking at a post from Sena, on a Gnostic ebook (see link below) and in the first chapter of this posted ebook, it talks about the murder of a woman who lived in Alexandria in the 5th century CE named Hypatia. I don't recall ever reading about or hearing of Hypatia before.

Then, 2 days later, on Thursday, while I was looking through a book on Calculus, in one of the side boxes, used throughout this book, where they talk about various people that had an influence on math, there was a side box on this very same person, Hypatia. Apparently Hypatia, also wrote about or did some work on conic sections.

Thus, a person that I had never heard of, Hypatia, showed up 2 times in my life, all within 2 days of each other. I think that perhaps this qualifies as an interesting synchronistic event.  :)

Recently, a Coast-to-Coast radio show guest was talking about synchronicity, and a caller shared this anecdote: he was in a small group discussing whether they could create synchronicities, and they decided to all create intentions for certain specific things to happen. They came up with 4 or 5 events, and most of them happened while they were together. He gave two examples, the first of which I forget. The second was that they decided that they would give an orange to a spiritual master. They were in a public place, and a man selling incense asked one in the group if he was trying to open his third eye because he could see that it was opening and closing. The caller asked this street vendor if he was some sort of spiritual master, to which the man replied, "Yes, I am a Sufi master!" The caller said, "Well, then, I guess this orange is for you."

Synchronicity (?) from a long time ago. My husband and I planned a trip to England. It was going to be my first trip to Europe. The plan was to have no real plan because I like to wander. We rented a car at Gatwick, were going to drive south and then west and stay in whatever town or village suited us at the time, following the b&b signs. I'd said I wished we had a theme for our travels, but was happy with being spontaneous. A few days before we left, the travel section of the local newspaper (which I typically didn't read) just happened to run a story on henges across England. We had our theme! I had no idea about henges other than Stonehenge and wasn't interested in seeing that because it's fenced off and you can't get near it. Well, you can't even imagine how many henges there are in the UK! http://www.stone-circles.org.uk/stone/

We spent maybe 10 days combining the original plan of wandering with some henges as destinations to give us a sense of direction. We went as far south as Penzance (Merry Maidens), visited some coastal villages in western England, took a one day trip (two steps forward, one step back) into the bookstore town of Hay-on-Wye in Wales, back to England to visit The Hurlers henge in the Cornwall, stayed in a town that was built inside an enormous henge (Avebury) and saw a few smaller henges, burial mounds, barrows and tumuli from the Neolithic age along the way. Because where ever you are in England—there's probably a henge nearby. Hands down, it was THE best vacation ever and the henges made it special. Which I never would have experienced were it not for the perfectly timed newspaper article.

Hi Deb,

Thanks for that. I had no idea that there were so many henges in the UK. Neat sync with the newspaper. :)

Both happened on Monday!

Event #1: In the morning I was researching a solution to a technical issue on a website, and after searching on the error message I ended up at StackExchange. A person that offered the solution made a comment that it was an Ubuntu solution. I didn't know if that was someone's name or what. Later that day, a friend posted a meme on FB showing African kids in a circle with some sort of story and a brief explanation of the word Ubuntu. A little more research and I found out it's also the name of a software operating system, which is probably what the first person meant. So two different uses of a word I'd never heard of before, in the same day, with a fairly appropriate demonstration of the word. Triple play!  ;D

"In Africa, ubuntu means humanity. It is often translated as "I am because we are," and also "humanity towards others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity"."

"Ubuntu is an open source software operating system that runs from the desktop, to the cloud, to all your internet connected things."

Event #2: In the afternoon I was at a friend's house. I was telling her about Jane's Little Book to Leonard that I had the pleasure to lay out for printing. I was telling her that Mary Dillman sent me the original book so that I could get quality photos of the pages. As I was telling her how excited I was to have original art of Jane's in my hands, I relived the rush of excitement and goose bumps of holding the orginal book. At that moment, the electricity went out in her house. I stopped and said, "Did I do that?" and immediately the power came back on. No reason for it to happen, the weather was beautiful, no work being done in the area. It hasn't  happened again. She texted me this morning, and added at the end "What a wonderful energy demo, I will make time to look up Seth!!!"

Update: It happened again. On March 12 someone posted an image on FB, a page from a book I'd never heard of called The Velveteen Rabbit. I saved the image because I thought it was funny -- it's about becoming "real" but to me it sounded an awful lot like getting old. Today I finally had a chance to put the image up in my own FB post. Then I went out to run some errands. I was listening to the local comedy station on the car radio, and Maria Bamford was talking about getting older. I wasn't listening 100% but then she ended her story with, "ah, The Velveteen Rabbit."  ;D

Hi Deb,

Wow, those are all awesome "sync" events.

I like the meaning behind the word "Ubuntu". It reminds me of the Hawaiian word "Ohana", which means something like, "We are all one" or "We are all family".

The second event with the Jane book, your excited energy and the power fluctuation; that's very cool. Then, along with this, the fact that this event inspired your friend to make time to look up "Seth"; that's very, very cool. :)

The Velveteen Rabbit sync event is also very cool.

It's things like this that make me think, Seth really knew what he was talking about, when he said, "There are no accidents."   :)

OK, this is nuts. Yesterday I was familiarizing myself with a theme for a new website I'm building. Big learning curve, lots of bells and whistles and settings, etc. I was looking over the font choice settings, and one of the maybe 15 fonts available was named Ubuntu!

I wonder if a trip to Africa is in my future...  Actually, it's one place I've not been interested in visiting. I've heard some horror stories of animal attacks and had a friend almost die from a parasite she picked up there.

Hi Deb,

After your post today, I thought I'd take a look at the version of MicroSoft Word, I have on my laptop, to see if they also have a font called "Ubuntu".  Unfortunately, it turns out that they don't, but it sure would have been fun to find out that they did. 

On a different topic, I don't know if this is a sync event or not, but the other day, I just happened to come across and view a site that listed the State Departments Level 1 – 4 ratings regarding travel to other countries.  I haven't been able to find this same site again but below is a similar link.

https://thepointsguy.com/news/us-travel-advisories/

There are a lot of African countries, listed in Level 3 and Level 4.

In the 1990's, one of the many people that I occasionally worked with at my job was a woman named Susan. During a conversation I had with her, Susan told me that she'd be out of town for a couple of weeks because her and her fiancé, were taking a trip to Africa. She told me that they were going to go on a tour to see the Mountain Gorilla's and then go on a safari.

While Susan and her tour group were in Africa, a hostile armed guerilla group found her tour group and brutally murdered most of them. Some of the tour group members somehow managed to escape, but Susan wasn't one of them.

This event didn't occur as a result of 2 hostile African countries. Instead it occurred as a result of an armed conflict going on between 2 African cultures (the Hutu's and the Tutsi's). Susan and her tour group unfortunately just got caught in the middle of this.

Sadly, the following website from the NY Times talks about this very specific incident and it is somewhat graphic. It's definitely OK, not to read it.

https://www.nytimes.com/1999/03/03/world/8-tourists-slain-in-uganda-including-us-couple.html

I know we each create our own reality, but if you're going to go to Africa, please be sure to check out which countries you'll be visiting and look into what's been going on there in the recent past.

I'd love to go to Africa. But I'd definitely do some research before I ever did so.

Hi All,

Ever since we started this post, I've been trying to keep alert consciously for any synchronous events that occur to me. I think I may have just had a synchronous event this morning about a book on "Synchronicity".

This morning I was posting a reply to Sena at "The mystery of life" post at this site, in response to a previous post that he had made there, where he attached a link to a blog by an open-minded neuroscientist called Natalie Trent (see link below)

https://drnatalietrent.com/blog/intuition-and-the-filter-theory-of-consciousness/

In this link, Natalie references an article by herself, M. Beauregard and G. E. Schwartz.

In my reply to Sena this morning, I told him that I was familiar with both Mario Beauregard and Gary E. Schwartz.  Then, after this, in this same reply to Sena, I posted a separate Amazon link to the books written by each of these 2 authors.

At the Amazon site for Gary E Schwartz (see below) it shows that one of his latest books is called, "Super Synchronicity: Where Science and Spirit Meet".

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=gary+e.+schwartz&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

I don't know if I just had a synchronous event about a book on synchronicity or not, but I thought that some of you may want to check out this book, if you get a chance.  I did the "look inside" thing that you can do at Amazon on some of their books, checked out the table of contents of this book and it look really interesting. I don't recall ever hearing about this book before, prior to having I looked at this Amazon site this morning.

Last week, my daughter in Brooklyn was taking a bus home. Since she was talking to her mom on the phone, she was distracted enough to miss her stop. She got off at the next stop, and saw a man lying in the street next to a car. At first, she thought maybe he was working on the car, but she went over to check, and he was dazed and bleeding. She asked him questions, and he was incoherent, so she called 911. She waited until the EMTs arrived and after awhile, she walked home. She said that there had been other people on the street that evening, but nobody else paid any attention to the man until she did. Synchronicity made sure that he got the treatment he needed earlier than would otherwise have happened. This also qualifies as a related phenomenon, serendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

Which leads me to a side note: I had a co-worker who had a habit of mispronouncing words, often to humorous effect. I secretly started to collect these words and applied my own definitions to them. After the list was three pages long, I presented it to him, and he loved it. He had pronounced "serendipity" as "serpendipity." My definition of serpendipity: The faculty of acquiring a snake just when you need one.

In 2008 I worked late and was walking to my parked car. As I crossed the intersection at 57th and 7th Avenue in Manhattan I was struck by a truck, it hit my leg and ran over my foot. I mean a huge truck, just kept going probably never saw me. It was 10:30 pm and strangely the street was empty. I laid in the street for several minutes yelling for help, with nobody paying attention. The first people that walked by stopped to help and call 911. One of the two women asked my name and she asked if I knew Loretta, my cousin. Wow! They both were involved at a local church chorus I believe.

Interesting coincidence!

And yes it felt as though something yanked me away, another few inches would have been even more serious. Miraculously I had only tissue damage and a tiny toe fracture.

It was not my time, just a little lesson. Pay attention! I always check before I cross, just not this time.

OK you guys, these recent posts gave me total goose bumps. Seriously. All of them are amazing. And @dougdi yours make me think of the Netflix series Russian Doll (another topic), where she WAS killed in a similar situation but in another life that was eventually corrected.

And @jbseth since you started this topic, I too have been paying more attention. Your story about your friend visiting Africa was a shocker. That's a scenario that's never anticipated unless you're considering a visit to some war-torn country like Syria. I can't even imagine.

@LarryH, I loved the serpendipity definition, that actually did make me laugh out loud. And your story... again goosebumps. Or truthbumps as they've come to be known.

One of these days I'll share a story of when my best friend died when we attended a horse show. She had asthma and had a reaction, but everything about the situation was serendipitous. I just don't have it in me right now.

This is my favorite synchronicity.

A year after my dad passed away I met and worked with a freelance writer that became one of my closest friends and musical partners. A year later we decided to share an apartment and set up a small music studio. As the movers brought in my shelving my buddy said "That looks like the shelves my friend Dave makes and sells". I said "Oh my dad used to work for this company Kxxxx and was a sales rep".

As it turned out, my dad worked for Dave and his dad during the last few years before he died. Dave is also a very close friend of Steve. Hmmm. Then a month later Steve and I drive up to Dave's home. Parked in the driveway was a car identical to the one my dad drove. And Dave, whom I've not yet met, said "Oh that was your dad's company car, the lease transferred to me".

There were no apparent reasons for these coincidences. The fact that Steve and I are like brothers suggests, to me, that there is a reason we are all connected in this way. I've been reading Seth since the first book was published and to me it all makes sense.  I believe all the important people in my life are all part of the "cast" in the play we're living. It should be a fantastic cast party when we all meet up after our physical lives!

Wow, another amazing story @dougdi. Yep, I can just imagine the conversions we're all going to have in F2, discussing what went right, what could have gone better, virtual slaps on the back, chiding...

Your mention of the car triggered a memory from my childhood. I grew up in a small town in central Jersey. I remember my dad's license plate was EXN333. We had an old beater station wagon, he kept it running forever. Back in the days when you could actually repair your own car.

One day my aunt and uncle (my father's brother) drove down from north Jersey, about an hour or so away in those days. At some point I noticed their license plate—EXN334. So two brothers living in two different towns/counties, with cars purchased at different times (not even sure it would have been the same year), had license plates off by one digit. Even at the age of maybe 10, I was impressed by that. Still am, I guess.

I don't know how the DMV issued license plate numbers back in the 60s, so there could be an explanation other than coincidence. I hope not. :)

Hi Dougdi,

That's a really nice grouping of synchronistic events between your Dad, Dave, your friend Steve and yourself.

I'm with you, I too believe that the important people in our lives (both the good and the not so good) are all part here as members of a cast in this play of life. :)

Thanks for sharing.

dougdi's favorite synchronicity reminds me of my series of interrelated career connections: The first industrial designer I ever met, as a teenager, Dick, was the husband of a co-worker of my mother's. He worked for Chrysler at the time. His portfolio was one of my inspirations for going into the same profession. When I was in college in Detroit working on my degree in industrial design, a practicing designer, Bill, came a few times to lecture. While a student, I was one of three national student representatives for IDSA, the professional organization of designers. I went to one national conference and roomed with Tony, one of the other student representatives, from San Jose State. After graduation, my first job was in California, where I joined a group of about 15 designers and clay modelers. Four of them had worked for Dick at Chrysler. In my second job, I worked for a design consulting firm in California, and they eventually hired Bill, the guy who had come to my school to lecture. He eventually became my manager. It turned out he had also worked for Dick at a large firm in Ohio after he left his Detroit job. In my third job, there was only one other designer at my facility, John, and he had worked for Dick as well. Three jobs, six connections back to Dick. But to top it all off, I found out from him that when Dick had left his position as Vice President of Design at this large Ohio firm, he had been replaced by Tony, the student that I had roomed with so long ago.

Hi All,

Several weeks ago, I ordered the book "Channeling" by Jon Klimo. When I ordered this book on-line, I didn't really pay much attention to the price (about $20), but I did recall that the shipping was free.

Today my wife was taking look at our recent purchases and she asked me if that book I purchased cost nineteen dollars and fifty four cents.  At the time she asked me this, I wasn't really paying attention to the cost, I was just focusing on looking it up.

When I finally saw the price, I noticed that it was $19.54 and that caught my eye.

I was born in 1954.

I'm not so sure if, $19.54, is a typical price for a book from Amazon, but maybe it's not that rare.

I'd have to say at this point there are NO coincidences. And the price does not seem typical in any way.

My copy came a few days ago. I'm in the process of finishing up A Gentleman in Moscow (I'm absolutely in love with this beautiful book), so Channelling is next on my list.

I think that perhaps this qualifies as an interesting synchronistic event.
jbseth, I only read your post today. Maybe Hypatia is a "saint", meaning an entity who is communicating with us.

Hi All,

I just saw this today on the internet. What an interesting synchronous event this was.

A man was having a heart problem. His heart was tracing at 200 beats per minute. An ambulance was called. On his 7 mile trip in the ambulance to the hospital, the driver hits a big deep pothole, and the physical shock of hitting this pothole resync's {no pun intended  :)} the man's heart beat to a normal rhythm.  How amazing is that?

You can read about it or watch the video at the link below.

Hi All,

Wow, I had a real interesting synchronous event today. About a month ago, I read the book, "Channeling: Investigations on Receiving Information from Paranormal Sources" by Jon Klimo. In this book, in Chapter Nine, under the subheading, "Receiving Spiritual Experience" the following quote can be found.

"He [my Guru] asked me to pray, but I could not pray. He replied that it did not matter, he and some others would pray and I had simply to go to the meeting ..., and wait and speech would come to me from some other source than the mind [ I did as I was told].

The speech came as though it was dictated, and ever since, all speech, writing, thought and outward activity have so come to me from the same source.
                                                                                                          -Sri Aurobindo"

This afternoon, I went to a local laundry room to do some laundry as we still haven't replaced our defective washing machine from several months ago. While in the laundry room, I started talking to a man I had never met before named Dileep, who's clothes came out of a dryer, with a fair amount of lint on some of them. It appeared that the lint trap in this dryer didn't work.

We started talking and Dileep shared with me that he has been very blessed in his life. I asked him what he meant by this and he told me that recently he spent some time in Dharamasala, India. I asked him, isn't that the Dalai Lama's residence and he responded yes, and then he said that he had spent a few days there. I told him that, this must have been awesome. Then he told me that he had also spent some time in some Buddhists temples in Thailand and in Hanoi.

After this, he mentioned the names of several guru's from India that he had met, some of which I was vaguely familiar with. Next he asked me if I knew who Sai Baba was? I told him yes, he's the man who was able to materialize objects. He told me that he has visited Sai BaBa's ashram on 5 separate occasions. He then showed me a photograph of Sai Baba that he had purchased in his ashram, which was a black and white photo of Sai Baba when he was a maybe in his 30's.

After this, he mentioned Sri Aurobindo, and asked me if I knew who he was. I told him that I knew of him and did my best to recall the quote above from the channeling book. Then he told me that Sri Aurobindo didn't have a master and I replied that this is what I had heard. He told me that Sri Aurobindo was really someone I might want to check out.

Next, he mentioned that one of these Guru's came to him in a dream and told him that this Guru told him that he needed to stop following these people and get on with his life. I asked him if he thought that maybe this might be his higher consciousness talking to him. He responded by saying no, he thought that it actually was this Guru.

We both thought that it was interesting that we had met each other, in a laundry room, in Hillsboro, Oregon on an April afternoon, and then he said, "There are no accidents" and I just had to smile. He commented that he was surprised that I knew something of what he was talking about and I told him that I was a reader of Jane Roberts, "Seth" channelings. In response to this, he told me that he knew of Jane Roberts and had read some of the Seth books in the 1980's.

We talked some more as he was getting ready to leave and I asked him what his future plans were. He told me that in June he planned to go to "Oh – Hi" (this is my spelling; I think he may have been talking about Ojai, California). Then in September he mentioned that he was going to France / Spain for a trip. I asked him if this was the Camino de Santiago, and he said yes. He told me that these trips just seem to call to him.

As he left the laundry room, we both wished each other well. I said good luck on your trips and he wished me well with getting my washing machine replaced. I think we both sensed a mutual connection with each other as fellow spiritual travelers on our independent journeys through life.

What an amazing synchronous event this turned out to be.

Has anyone here ever been to Ojai, California. It sounds like, from the internet, it may be a town with interesting art galleries and New Age shops.

Hi All, Hi Larry H,

Well, here's another interesting synchronous event.

This morning, I was responding to a post made by Sena, about Susan Watkins.  Years ago, I had read a book of hers called something like, "Dreaming a Town" but I couldn't recall the exact name of it.

As a result of this, I decided to go to Amazon on the internet, and look up its name.

While at the Amazon site, I discovered that Sue also wrote another book that I didn't known anything about. This book, which apparently was published in 2005, is called, "What A Coincidence, the wow! factor in synchronicity and what it means in everyday life."

Here's a link to this book.

Larry H, I don't know if you're still collecting interesting stories on synchronous events or not, but I'll bet there are probably some very interesting stories in this book.

A real ghost story. Again, I see a blurry line between coincidence, precognition and synchronicity.

Years ago (maybe 15?) I was a part of a local paranormal investigation team. A design client of mine, Patty, asked if we could investigate her sister's ("Sister") house in Park Hill, an older area east of Denver with charming old brick homes dating back to the turn of the century. Sister's two young children saw and heard an older female in the finished basement playroom a few times. Sister was afraid and was not present during our investigation.

There were 5 of us investigating that night. We had all our various meters and digital recorders. We did EVP (electronic voice phenomena) recordings in various parts of the house. At one point we were on the second floor landing and I saw a beautiful oil painting of two old charming houses. One of them looked like the house we were investigating. Patty said a friend had found the painting years ago at a garage sale, thought the house looked familiar, and gave it to Sister. It WAS the same house we were in. Of more interest, the second house turned out to be the house where Sister's husband had lived as a child. The houses are not located next to one another — they are several blocks apart. No idea who the artist was, or why the houses were painted together.

We had some interesting meter readings, a couple of interesting responses using my Frank's Box hack, but that was about it. We called it a night. I spent a few hours the next day listening to the digital recordings. I heard something that caught my attention, saved the clip and submitted it to an EVP forum. One of the people played the recording in reverse and it sounded like a very husky voiced man asking, "Margaret?"

Next day I was talking on the phone with Patty about work and impulsively asked, "Who is Margaret?" Silent pause. Then she asked, "Why?" I said it was something that came up during our investigation. A longer pause. Then she explained that the mother of Sister's husband was named Margaret. When the husband was a child, his father, a prominent doctor in the area, shot the mother and himself in the 2nd house in the painting. Husband, age 10 at the time, found the aftermath when he came home from school. Husband and his brother spent the rest of their childhood with relatives.

In the end, we all decided the grandparents were only lovingly interested in their grandchildren's lives and would "visit" on occasion. Not scary ghosts, but just loving grandparents. A clearing was done in the house, Sister asked the grandparents to please stop visiting because they scared everyone. The last thing I heard, things had calmed down and the house felt safe and peaceful.

I still don't understand the painting. If anyone has a feeling for how or why the painting came about, please pipe up.

Reading the Seth materials made me think and feel differently about ghost hunting and I lost interest for the most part because his explanations answered my questions. I was amused how often Seth mentioned ghosts in the books, and even referred to himself as one.

Hi Deb,

That was a very interesting synchronous / ghost story.

It seems to me that there are some artists, who seem to specialize on certain themes. Bob Ross painted pictures with mountains, rivers and lots of trees. Thomas Kinkade, painted pictures where the focus seemed to be on light; the light coming from a cottage, a campfire, or a lighthouse. Robert Wyland paints pictures of ocean scenes, with dolphins, orcas and whales.

https://www.bobross.com/

https://thomaskinkade.com/

https://www.wyland.com/

Along this line, perhaps there was an artist who specialized in painting charming houses. Furthermore, this particular artist may have known about and liked both of these 2 houses and so he/she painted a picture that contained both of them. I don't think that this would necessarily be very unusual.

A friend saw this picture and recognized that one of the 2 houses in the picture looked just like her friends ("sister") house.  This kind of thing seems pretty rare.

Then, the fact that the other house in the picture was actually the house that "sisters" husband grew up in; this kind of thing seems very rare, interesting and synchronous to me.

Of course, we all know from Seth that there really isn't any such thing as an event that occurred "on accident".

Hah.

I am very familiar with Bob Ross. I own a Kinkade. And also very familiar with Wyland.

An unknown local artist painting two charming but otherwise unremarkable houses in a part of town where all the houses are charming remains a mystery to me.

But then, there are no coincidences.

Robert Wyland paints pictures of ocean scenes, with dolphins, orcas and whales.

Wyland is from Michigan and went to the same art school that I went to in Detroit (now named College for Creative Studies). We had some of the same teachers.

Hi LarryH,

Thanks for sharing.  That is really cool.

Back in 2008, while in Honolulu, my wife and I got the opportunity to see him and meet him in person. He was at his studio in Honolulu, on a Friday evening and while their he painted a whale picture in about 45 minutes in front of the audience. It was impressive to see just how fast he can paint a first rate picture.

Back in the 1990's he came to Newport, Oregon and painted a large (maybe 50 foot) mural on the side of a building. This mural consisted of a picture of grey whales, which travel up and down the Oregon coast from Alaska to Mexico, twice a year. Once down and once back. It was awesome to watch him paint this mural.

I've read, that he says that he see's the whole image in his mind's eye visually, while he is painting. That's pretty awesome.

Hi All,

I was reading, "The Nature of the Psyche" the other day and came across a term that Seth uses in this book called "significances". I think that what Seth has to say here about significances, has a lot to do with how synchronous events actually occur. Here he gives an "Aunt Sarah" example of how events can occur that is quite interesting. Like many of the topics that Seth discusses, this discussion of "significances" gets kind of deep and as a result I had to read through it several times to grasp the significance, no pun intended,  :), of it all. (Note: The usage of bold font below is mine.)

NotP, Chapter 9, Session 788

Dictation: Basically, events have nothing to do with what you think of as cause and effect. This is perhaps apparent to some degree when you study dream events, for there the kind of continuity you are used to, connecting events, largely vanishes.

Instead events are built up, so to speak, from significances. But let us forget that term for a moment and consider association, with which you are already familiar, since your stream of consciousness operates in that fashion. By its very nature each consciousness is a particular, peculiar, and unique focus of awareness which will experience any possible realities through its own characteristics.

It also "stamps" or "impresses" the universe with its own imprint. No portion of the universe is inactive or passive, regardless of its seeming organization or its seeming lack of organization. Each consciousness, then, impresses the universe in its own fashion. Its very existence sets up a kind of significance, in whose light the rest of the universe will be interpreted. The universe knows itself through such significances. Each consciousness is endowed with creativity of a multidimensional nature, so that it will seek to create as many possible realities for itself as it can, using its own significance as a focus to draw into its experience whatever events are possible for it from the universe itself. It will then attract events from the universe, even as its own existence imprints the universe as an event with the indelible stamp of its own nature.

And how do "significances" operate?

Significances fall or happen in certain patterns, and when these become very obvious they appear as cause and effect. They are simply heavy-handed significances. Your associative processes and habits are perhaps the closest examples that can give clues of how significances operate. Even then, however, associations deal with the passage of time, and basically significances do not. You might think of your Aunt Sarah, for example, and in a few moments the associative process might bring you images of periods in the past when you visited your aunt, of her friends and neighbors, the articles in her house, and episodes connected with your relationship.

(9:49.) At the same time Aunt Sarah, unbeknown to you, might pick up a blue vase, one that you had just seen in your mind as belonging on a shelf in her living room. Touching the vase, your Aunt Sarah might think of the person who gave it to her, now on the other side of the continent. That person, perhaps thinking of buying a present for someone, might settle upon a vase in a flash of inspiration, or suddenly begin humming a song with the name "Sarah" in the title, or possibly even think of your aunt. If on the other hand any opposing associations existed anywhere along the line, the "chain" of association could be broken. The last lady might consider a vase, for example, but reject the idea. Because of the time element, it seems to you that the first episode caused the others, and that your first association concerning your aunt brought about the "following" events.

The inner significances, however, the associations, existed all at once, to be tuned in to at any point of time. They had their reality basically apart from time, even though they appeared within it.

Actually the three sets of events could easily occur to the three people at once, and if no normal communication happened no one would be the wiser. The inner tapestry of events deals with just this kind of association. Emotional intensities and significances compose the nature of events. In dreams you work with the kind of intensities involved, exploring multitudinous significances. These are like charged emotional patterns, formed of your own highly personal emotions and intents.

Using such significances as yardsticks, you accept or reject probable events. You imprint the universe with your own significance, and using that as a focus you draw from it, or attract, those events that fit your unique purposes and needs. In doing so, to some extent you multiply the creative possibilities of the universe, forming from it a personal reality that would otherwise be absent, in those terms; and in so doing you also add in an immeasurable fashion to the reality of all other consciousness by increasing the bank of reality from which all consciousness draws.

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

Now: There is no such thing, basically, as random motion. There is no such thing as chaos. The universe, by whatever name and in whatever manifestation, attains its reality through ordered sequences of significances.

Small synchron event but a hit as far as I'm concerned.

I have been emailing with someone I met on this forum for maybe a couple of years. We've never met in person.

Well a couple of weeks ago I had a dream that I was told I'd been enrolled in a writing course. I was really surprised (and a little dismayed) because it's not something I am interested in and didn't remember signing myself up. But then I thought about it for a moment and figured I'd give it a shot, who knows, I might enjoy it.

That morning I got an email from this pen pal friend saying she was very excited about a writing course that she had just started. She had a great class and was very excited about it. Because we've never talked about writing, writing classes or courses, I couldn't help think it was more than just a coincidence. Fun stuff!

Yesterday I watched a Netflix DVD – a 2015 Norwegian disaster film called The Wave. Earlier in the day, I stopped by the library and picked up another movie that was at the bottom of my Netflix queue of 34 movies (which I organize by number of stars assigned by Netflix based on my prior ratings, highest first). This was an obscure 2016 American independent film-noir sci-fi movie. I had other choices, but why would I on impulse decide to take out the lowest-rated movie on my long list? At the beginning of The Wave DVD, as usual, I watched the previews of other movies. The first preview was of the obscure movie that I had just picked up at the library. At first, I thought that I had popped in the wrong movie. After watching The Wave, I popped in the movie from the library. The first preview shown was of The Wave. So, two obscure movies of different genres, made in different years and from different countries, each including the others' previews, watched back-to-back, was a nice synchronicity in itself. But I haven't mentioned the name of the second movie until now: Synchronicity. I have no idea why it had that name. The story did not really have examples of what I would call synchronicity. After the movie, I watched an interview with the female co-star, and she said that they discovered that she and the male co-star had gone to the same high school in Atlanta, which she referred to as "a nice synchronicity".

Hi LarryH,

That's a nice set of sync events, the 2 movies and their previews, and then the title of the second movie along with the male and female costars who both attended the same high school.

I just noticed that this topic has 155 entries, that's awesome too.

I rated The Wave with 4 stars out of 5 because I couldn't give it 3.5 stars. I love foreign movies, mostly because we are only exposed to the best. Some people don't like subtitles, but I don't mind them at all, and I like hearing the foreign languages and trying to pick out the words similar to English. The movie is a suspense thriller centered around the collapse of the side of a mountain into a fjord, causing a tidal wave that threatens a small resort town. The focus is mostly on one family, including the scientist who was the first to warn of the impending disaster and his wife and two kids. Great special effects and very suspenseful.

I rated Synchronicity with 2 stars. It was a little hard to follow for the first half. It was compared to Bladerunner in the reviews, but that is being overly generous. The music did remind me of that in Bladerunner, but by a different composer (similar to Vangelis, but not as good). All of the scenes, every set, every building, every room, all the clothes were grey or close to it, and there were always glaring light sources, evoking a harsh, somber mood. The focus is invention of a time travel device by a young scientist, the manipulating man funding the experiments, and the scientist's love interest whose motives and allegiances are unclear through most of the movie.

I had an uncle who was a welding apprentice for Ford Motor Co in the '30's. One day, he was asked to go out to a home that Henry Ford was having built for a friend and do some welding for some window frames. Years later, he had three children, two boys and a girl. They all went to Clare Bryant Junior High, named after Henry Ford's wife. The girl, my cousin, ended up marrying a man whose father was an architect. When my uncle's family was invited to the architect's home, it turned out to be the home that my uncle had worked on decades before. The architect had known about the house's history and had been intrigued at the prospect of owning it. Henry Ford's "friend" had been Ford's mistress. My cousin and her husband eventually inherited the house and brought up their children there.

@LarryH you always have the best synchronicity stories! I have one myself from this week, but it was not pretty and I'm not sure I'm ready to share. Still puzzled over the "why" of it.

BTW Edison and Ford were buddies. I've been through Edison's winter property (home and lab) in Ft. Meyers, Florida several times, and their properties were right next to each other. I was a big fan of Edison until I found out what he did to discredit Tesla. Dreadful stuff.

OK here are two little ones, not earth shattering, but fun.

1. A couple of days ago I had coffee with a friend I see maybe once a year. While we were catching up, I asked her if she'd talked to a mutual acquaintance, Leti, lately. She said no, they hadn't talked in at least a couple of years. It's been even longer for me.

Leti was a client of mine several years ago. I introduced the two of because they are both interested in nutrition counseling. I have a lot of tomatoes in my garden this year and told my friend I should call Leti to see if she was still into canning and wanted some (Leti had bought tomatoes from me a few years ago.)

Later, heading home, I made a mental note to myself to call Leti when I got home. And then there she was, calling me!

Since we haven't been in contact for maybe 3 years, I assumed my friend had called her after our conversation. Nope! Leti just wanted to know if she could refer her sister to me for help with her website. And yes, she wanted tomatoes! She stopped by in the afternoon and bought 15 lbs.

2. Today I spent a little time walking around an outdoor local art show and sale. A woman wearing a dress that caught my eye was looking at a booth. The fabric was very pretty, pale green background with pink flowers similar to the Arizona Original Green Tea label. As I was thinking about how much the fabric and the tea label looked similar, another woman came walking towards me wearing the same dress. They didn't even notice each other and they were less than 20 feet apart. :)

Or maybe more coincidences. :)

Two weeks ago I flew to Ireland via Providence, RI. I CANNOT sleep on airplanes because the accommodations are uncomfortable in every way. I kept thinking about one flight I was on many years ago where I ended up seated in a row by myself. I was able to lie down and actually slept for a few hours. It was amazing.

So, I get on the plane in Providence, knowing the flight was near capacity, but kept an image of myself sleeping in an empty row. Sure enough, there were maybe 3 rows that were empty and I was in one of them. I did lie down but didn't get any sleep as the seats are smaller these days and the arm rests and seat belts are in the worst places. But it was still great having a row to myself!

Then headed home the other day, even though I had paid extra in advance to choose my seat (row 14 window), the airline did not honor that. It was a 10.5 hour flight. The only window seat left was in row 47! But I took it, since a window is better than center on a flight like that. I thought there would be no way to get a row to myself again, but kept the image in my mind of being curled up in a row of my own even though the flight was once again near capacity. Son of a gun, they closed the doors and I still had a (2 seat) row to myself! Even more impossible to lie down, but I had some room to keep stretching out in different directions so that my body didn't seize up from sitting in one position for 10+ hours.

Hi All,

I came across the following set of synchronistic events from the book, "The Afterlife of Billy Fingers". While this story is somewhat long, the sync events that occur in this story are really quite amazing.

First some background. The book, "The Afterlife of Billy Fingers" contains the true story, as written by Annie Kagan, about her brother Billy. Apparently Billy was the "black sheep" of the family, while Annie, his sister, was just the opposite. Billy was always in trouble, into dealing drugs, spent time in prison and just never seemed to get his act together.

One night Billy, in an alcoholic state, ran out into the street and got hit and killed by a car.  Sometime after his death, Annie began to notice that Billy would occasionally communicate intuitively / psychically with her. Much of this book is about Billy's messages and how they seemed to be helpful to others.

In chapter twenty nine of this book, Annie tells us the story of taking Billy's ashes to Jamaica, a place that he very much loved, so that she could release them there.

Billy requested that she take and release his ashes to a place called Dunn's River Falls.
He also tells her that when she does this "there will be a sign."

Then Annie asks Billy if he could do something special with her guide, such as having his name be William. She also asks Billy if she should leave her bracelet at home because she didn't want to lose it. This bracelet was very special to her, it belonged to her meditation teacher. In response to this, Billy tells her, "If the falls takes your bracelet, it will be a good thing."

Next Annie takes a taxi to the falls and the first thing she sees is a huge banyan tree. Since she's always wanted to see one but never has, Annie wonders if this was the sign that Billy was talking about.

She then goes over to seek out a guide, to help her navigate the falls. At this, she notices one, sitting alone in a corner, who seemed to be downhearted. She asks him if he would come here, and as he does, she notices that his name, written on his shirt, is "Willie".

Next, she then tells Willie that her brother died about a year ago and that she's giving him a funeral today. She also tells him that her brother loved Jamaica and loved this waterfalls. She says that she wants to release his ashes in the falls but is scared to death that she will fall and kill herself. In response to this, Annie noticed that a change came over Willie, and he told her that he would help her.

After they climbed up to the first pool, Willie helped Annie get into the pool. While in the pool, Annie said that she felt Billy, in the sunshine, shining down on her. Then, as she released some of Billy's ashes she cried and smiled and cried some more. She also said that she noticed that Willie had also shed a tear or two.

Then they climbed up the falls the rest of the way, Annie gaining confidence in her ability to do so with Willie's guidance, releasing Billy's ashes as they went. At the top of the fall's Annie and Willie talked about how this falls is a very spiritual place and Annie noticed that Willie's sad face was now smiling.

After finishing the climb, Annie returned to the rental shop, where she rented her shoes and excitedly talked to the 2 women still working there. She told them her story about her brother Billy and how she thought that Willie was the best guide in the world. The women then tell Annie that Willie had a brother who had died at about the same time as Billy. Furthermore, they also told her that Willie's brother had died right there at the falls.

After returning her shoes, Annie ran to find Willie.  Once she found him, she asked him why he didn't tell her about his brother and he replied that he didn't want to spoil it for her. Willie then tells her that his brother had been drunk that day and was clowning around acting crazy. Then he slipped and hit his head on the rocks and died. This happened at the first pool where Annie released some of Billy's ashes.  Willie said he saw it all, he watched him die and it still hurts so much.

Annie takes the silver bracelet off of her wrist and put it on Willies. She then led him over to the banyan tree where they sat down and she proceeded to tell Willie her story about Billy and how Billy's been communicating with her.

When she was done, Willie then thanked her for this and then he told her that he's felt like death had been chasing after him. He said that his sister died, just a little while before his brother, and then his father had just died last week. He then tells her that today was some kind of miracle.

After this, Willie once again thanked Annie and also asked her to thank her Brother for him. Then, as Annie was getting ready to leave in a taxi, Willie tells her that he'll, never forget either her, or her brother, Billy.

For anyone who's interested, here's a video of Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica.

Wow, what a story. It makes me wonder if Willie's brother was a counterpart of Billy. Thanks for that! I'm thinking I'll have to read the book.

Thanks for the video too, it was nice to see. Jamaica was actually my first trip out of the USA decades ago, my ex had surprised me with the trip. Dunn's River Falls was closed because there was supposedly no water at the time so I never got to see it in person. Also, a funny aside, we were on a tour bus and I noticed that while all resorts had US, Jamaican and I think Canadian flags up the day we'd arrived, the second day all the US flags had been taken down. I asked the driver what was going on (thinking I should be concerned). He shrugged and with his Jamaican accent said, "I don't know miss, maybe dey washing dem." Lol.

Hah! Another synchronicity. I have not told that story about Jamaica for probably 30 years or more.

Last night my ex texted me. He's in Florida, where we lived part of the time we were married. His mother recently died and he was down there to help his father sell the house. He needed to get out of the house for a break and drove over to our old neighborhood, sent me a picture of a house and asked if I knew what it was. It was not our old house. He texted back "Lou's house." Lou was a neighbor, an acquaintance really, we were not really friends with Lou. But Lou had asked us to ride with him to the airport in his car. He had a flight to catch but didn't want to pay for parking so we were to bring his car back to the neighborhood. When we got to the airport, my ex presented me with the tickets for us to fly to Jamaica and Lou drove himself home.

My ex and I only rarely keep in touch. The timing of his text could not have been better—I had not even remembered the neighbor's name, only that the trip was a complete surprise.

In addition to this, I think that there might be some interesting synchronistic activities going on here as well?

I for one think so. I've noticed for the past couple of weeks our different topics have been crossing over each other like a braid. I've never noticed that before. It feels like there's something going on.

This Russian Doll of synchronicities for me just came full circle today and I'm blown away. And chuckling to myself:

Just a little background info before I get to the "good" stuff. I'm a graphic designer who happens to be able to develop websites too. I'm no tech wiz but I manage. In July 2014 I purchased The Road to Elmira for Kindle. In June 2017 I asked Rich Kendall (New York Boys) if I could purchase a signed copy of his book. At some point in our communications I mentioned I'm a GD and he was more than welcome to contact me if he needed help with any future projects. He said he was coming out with another book, and I cleaned up the photos for the book. After that, he introduced me to Mary Dillman and I helped her with a couple of small projects. Then a few weeks ago Rich asked if I would do the design and layout for a new book he was working on, which I've been working on since.

So, on to the synchronicities. Kate Holton (The Seth House) emailed me last week about Seth's "experiment that was never tried." She had bought a used copy of Seth Speaks from Amazon three years ago and the name Michael Goode was written inside. Oshara Waago (The Seth House), Kate's partner, knows Michael and told Kate who he is. One of the original class members. Michael also helped Oshara put together a Spirit Board, another synchronicity I'll explain in a bit.

Fast forward to last year when I was making the Seth House website and illustration. Kate and I communicated quite a bit at the time and I'd brought up the experiment, giving Kate the page number in Seth Speaks (pg 163, Session 546). Kate pulls out her SS and stuck in that page is Michael's original receipt for the book. What are the chances? I asked Rich Kendall the other day if he knows Michael and he said yes, he knows him very well, they were close friends when growing up. AND Michael did the design and layout for many if not all of the Seth books Rick Stack has published. If you have The Early Class Sessions, The Early Sessions or The Deleted Sessions, look at the copyright page and you'll see his name. To add to that, I actually used the copyright page from one of those books as a guide for a layout idea, since I've never actually made a "real" book before. I was focused on design and never noticed his name.

Kate has put two and two together and feels she's being pulled towards do the experiment and emailed Michael and me last week for input. I've already sent her my vision of how that could work, we'll see what happens.

So as far as the spirit (aka Ouija) board connection: Another client asked me to move a bunch of websites and domain names around for him asap. I told Rich I'd have to carefully spread my time between his book and the website migrations. That client is Robert Murch. He is an expert on Ouija boards and has a museum. I made a website for his non-profit Talking Board Historical Society about 2 years ago, and a promotional one for him this past year for speaking engagements. I'm also currently designing a new website for his new The Salem Witch Board Museum. The only thing that would make this better is if it was for The Elmira Spirit Board Museum, lol. God I love this stuff!

Oh I'm not done yet. The first time I met Murch was at a bbq at his house. I was invited by a friend of mine who is renting the mother-in-law apartment over his garage. I asked him if he'd heard of Seth/Jane Roberts and the famous Ouija board. Murch got very excited—he had read the Seth books growing up and would LOVE to have that board. I introduced him to Ron Card who owns Jane and Rob's Ouija board. I knew Ron would never part with it, but Murch did get some high quality photos of it. Murch has really embraced the Seth life and is the nicest and wisest person I know. So much so that I accidentally called him Seth when telling someone about him the other day.

Murch has told me he has some things of Jane's, an original manuscript or something, and plans to give them to me the next time we get together, which may be a while. I'm really curious about what they are!

I think next I'll ask Rich and Murch if they know each other.

Hi Deb,

That is really some awesome synch events.

Hey, could you keep us posted on both Rich's new book and whatever Kate's going to do with the "Experiment that's never been tried". Even if we don't get invited to participate, I'm really curious to hear about what she plans to do.

Maybe I'll start a topic on this so that we here could kick around some ideas. Would that be OK with you?

Yes, of course. I just sent another edited version of the print book to Rich today. Once that's finalized I can work on the Kindle version. He was hoping for a pre-Christmas release, but we're way ahead of the deadline.

Starting a new topic sounds like a great idea, I'd love the input! I figured I'd start a post anyway when Kate gets back to me with a positive response. I still need to email her with today's contributions to the synchronicities.

One thing I deleted from my post was another little detail that to me fits in: I've been to Murch's house a few times now and would see his progress in getting the museum together. He moved here from Boston and still has tons of boards in storage. But, I noticed that while he had many boards in various world languages, there was not one in Russian. I have a fascination with Russia and Russian history. I've been there a few times and loved it (with a few synchronistic connections I won't bore anyone with), have been learning the language. I realized that Murch didn't have a Soviet era style board. So I made him one as a sort of gag Christmas gift. So I too have created an Ouija board, had a member of this forum who moved to the US from the Ukraine confirm the lettering was correct, just like Michael the graphic designer/Seth student created a board.

Murch posted it to Facebook on February 18, 2019, with this caption. Image attached below:

Quote"Ouija spells C-O-L-L-U-S-I-O-N-? Hi friends, while Mueller investigates if collusion occurred between the Trump campaign and the Russians, the Talking Board Historical Society was hard at work trying to discover the method of the alleged communication, and we believe we found it! С Д-Н-Е-М П-Р-Е-З-И-Д-Е-Н-Т-А  Robert Murch, Chairman of the Board - Talking Board Historical Society"

Ha ha ha, you can't make this stuff up.

Hi All,

Here's another synchronous event.

Recently my wife and I have been watching episodes of TNG ("Star Trek: The Next Generation) as we've only recently discovered that we have access to these shows via our cable network.

We watched these shows many years ago (in the late 80's and early 90's) and loved them, but haven't seen them since. Re-watching them now has been fun, because there like all new episodes. It's been so long that we don't remember much about them.

Anyway, just this morning I was going through a "TNG Companion" book that I bought many years ago at a star trek convention. In this companion book I was looking for information on an episode that I recalled, that had something to do with a space probe affecting Captain Picard, such that he lives basically an entire life on a distance planet in the timespan of about 20 minutes on the Enterprise. It turns out that this specific episode was called, "The Inner Light" and it occurs near the end of Season 5.

Anyway, at the front of this companion book, I had written a note in it, many years ago (early 1990's) from a friend of mine by the name of Doyle. In this note, I had written down what Doyle had told me, was the meaning of the Star Trek "Warp Factors".*

I have no idea if what he told me was true or not, but I wrote it down anyway so that I could later check it out.

Today about an hour after I did this, my wife got a "Happy New Year" message from Doyle via Face Book Messenger. We haven't heard from him or his wife in perhaps 10 years or so.

Wow.

* Doyle told me that in Star Trek, Warp Factor "x", was, x cubed, the speed of light.

Thus:

Warp Factor 1 was, 1 cubed the speed of light, or 1 times the speed of light.
Warp Factor 2 was, 2 cubed the speed of light, or 8 times the speed of light.
Warp Factor 3 was, 3 cubed the speed of light, or 27 times the speed of light.
Warp Factor 4 was, 4 cubed the speed of light, or 64 times the speed of light....

jbseth, I believe that my favorite episode. Is it the one where in that other life he marries, has children, and learns to play the flute? The whole experience was so that a lost civilization would not be forgotten.

Hi All,

Yesterday on this forum, Sena and I were talking about the various topics around Christmas and Christmas time. I told Sena that I really liked the lights.

Today on Bing, the image that came up on my laptop was the attached image. This image is called, "A Field of Light at Sensorio" and its by Bruce Monro.

What an interesting coincidence.  :)

My college illustration instructor, Syd Mead, died a few days ago at age 86. His futurist visualizations and designs for movies and major corporations inspired and entertained us all. My post #4 on page 1 of this thread is about one of my favorite synchronicities, which involves how he ended up signing some copies of his illustration books for me. Hi LarryH,

It must have been awesome to have him as your instructor.

I really liked his artwork on "Blade Runner"; I've always thought that was really great movie.

I agree with Syd about the Pontiac Aztek, I think it's just plain ugly.  I can see why he thought the 61 Cadillac was cool.

I remember your post about him! Wow, sorry to hear that. What an amazingly creative and talented person. I don't know how people come up with visions like he had, creating such intricate designs with imagination. I loved the Blade Runner scenery, it was so moody and futuristic. It created an atmosphere that really sucked me into the movie. I had to watch it a few times in order to take in all the details.

You were fortunate to have him as an instructor, I bet you learned a lot from him. And wonderful how he shared his talents to educate others. It would be great if someone made a documentary about him.

Ha ha, the Aztek made the World's 15 Ugliest Cars list. For me it's been a tossup between the Pacer and Gremlin.

Hi All,

Here's another interesting sync event.

Yesterday LarryH, announced that the object for ESP Experiment 005 was a hammer.

Today my wife and I were watching "StarTrek: The Next Generation". This particular episode was called "Shades of Gray" and it was Season 2, Episode 22.

In this episode, Commander Riker, or Number 1, was stung by a poisonous plant on a planet that they were investigating.

About 12:00 minutes into the episode, there was a conversation between Riker and Captain Picard, where Picard was talking about Rikers lack of upset at the plant. In response to this, Riker said something like, "When you drop a hammer on your foot, it hardly makes sense to get angry at the hammer."

Hah, I just came here to share a Star Trek-related synchronicity and found that the last post was about a Star Trek-related synchronicity.

Last week, I watched the 1960 WWII movie Hell to Eternity starring Jeffrey Hunter. I had never seen it before. A young boy loses his parents and is taken in by a Japanese American family before the war. As a young adult, his foster brother is played by George Takei, who later played Sulu in the original Star Trek series. Before seeing that movie, I had ordered and received the second season (2019) of the CBS All Access series Star Trek: Discovery from the library. This series takes place in the Star Trek timeline a generation or so before the original TV series and stars a black female character curiously named Michael Burnham, who as a child was fostered by the mixed-race parents (human and Vulcan) of Spock and grew up with him. Then in Sunday's paper, there was an article entitled "Captain Kirk 2.0", which focused on the character in Star Trek: Discovery, a captain Christopher Pike. This character was resurrected from the original rejected 1964 "Trek" pilot. He made "only a fleeting appearance in the series, mainly so the pilot footage could be recycled." Then, the very next episode of Discovery that I watched began with "Previously, on Star Trek: Discovery..." and then it shows a scene from that 1964 pilot. I was surprised to see that in that old pilot, captain Pike was played by Jeffrey Hunter, the star of Hell to Eternity that I had just watched! So that movie had two major characters played by actors who later were in the original Star Trek series, and the main characters of both the movie and Discovery were the subjects of interracial adoptions. The timing of me seeing the movie, reading the news article, and watching the very episode in a year-old series that introduced the character 56 years ago that was the topic of the article seemed quite a coincidence.

Beyond that, possibly of interest to readers here and quoting from the article, "'Trek' aficionados were thrilled this month to learn that Pike (now played by Anson Mount), his first officer "Number One" (Rebecca Romijn) and the still-evolving, pre-Kirk version of Spock (Ethan Peck) would be following up their season-long stints on 'Star Trek: Discovery' with a brand-new show. Called 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,' it is set in the decade before Kirk takes command."

Hi LarryH,

Hey, nice group of sync events.

I've never heard of the 1960 movie, "Hell to Eternity". However, I do know that Jeffery Hunter also played in a movie, I think it was called, "King of Kings". It was about the life of Jesus, and Jeffery played Jesus. I think that it came out somewhere around the time of 1960.

My wife and I love the Star Trek shows. Right now we're watching season 5 of Star Trek: Voyager.

We've watched the "Discovery" shows with Michael Burnham and the new "Picard" show. We thought that both were great.

Thanks for the "head up" on the upcoming "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" series.
We'll be keeping our eyes open for that.

How often do we see "this author predicted THIS in his or her book"? And the author is like, "just a coincidence." LOL.
Yes, the most recent is that decades ago, Dean Koontz wrote a novel about a pandemic that starts in a lab in Wuhan, China. He did say that it was "just a coincidence".

And not that long ago, there was some publicity about some books written around 1900 about a young boy named Baron Trump, the son of a U.S. president who lives in luxury in Manhattan. There were references to Russia, protests in the street, and a guy named Don. I think there were even more tie-ins with the current administration, but I cannot recall them - something like the last name of one of Trump's advisors was the same as a character in the book?

Then there's the novel about an unsinkable ship called the Titan that sinks when it hits an iceberg, written before the Titanic existed.

Sometimes I don't know if it's manifestation, synchronicity, or premonition.

I was reading more about pyramids lately and was curious about the Washington monument. Particularly the pyramid cap, the pyramidion as it is known. It is made of copper and other materials at the monument to absorb lightning. I've been reading about properties of copper minerals because they conduct electricity and destroy viruses with oligodynamism.

Then recently, the Washington monument got struck by lightning and injured some national guard at the D.C. protests. Bizarre.

Billy was always in trouble, into dealing drugs, spent time in prison and just never seemed to get his act together.
jbseth, thanks for recommending this book. I downloaded it last year, but only finished reading it today. I am posting an extract from the book which I found interesting:

"I was kind of cocky about being dead, but if this would have happened right away ... well, I wasn't ready for it. I had to be prepared for this kind of majesty. As I stand before my Goddess, my appearance is changing. I'm getting taller and thinner, and overall I'm looking more like her. I call her my Goddess because somehow she is mine. For the first time, my Goddess moves her perfect ruby lips. Hers is the intoxicating flute-like voice I've been hearing all along. She sings me her name: Shvara. It fills me like a mysterious perfume I have been forever seeking. Shvara smiles a smile so gorgeous and powerful, if there could be a smile like that on earth, all war would end and everyone would stop what they're doing and go feed the hungry children. It is that powerfully good. I'm not sure I could have withstood the power of that smile before this moment. Then, my Goddess sings me her full name: Shvara Lohana. Do I really belong to the same tribe as this magnificent Goddess? I try to control myself but have to ask, "Does that mean I will be with you forever?" Her smile dazzles me. "In this dimension, forever is longer than you can imagine." I admit that sounded disappointing, but she didn't exactly say no, right? This time, hearing Billy through my crown chakra opened its petals into a lush flower. As Shvara's beauty entered my soul, my heart beat so fast I thought it might burst. Instead, it melted like a burning candle, filling me with molten grace. I searched the Internet to see if the name Shvara had any meaning. I was fascinated to learn that Shvara is the short form of I-shvara, a Sanskrit word, Sanskrit being the sacred language of ancient India. So Billy's description of Shvara as an Indian goddess wasn't a coincidence. What delighted me the most, though, was discovering that in Hindu tradition Shvara means Supreme Lord. And when Shvara takes on a feminine form, she is no less than the Supreme Goddess, the one and only Goddess above all others. Was Shvara Lohana an actual Divine Being or a vision Billy was having? Was she his personal God or was she God? Is God actually a goddess?"

Hi Sena, Hi All,

Was Annie actually in touch with her dead brother Billy?  Who's to say?  I'd like to think that perhaps she was, but then again, maybe she wasn't.

If Annie wasn't in touch with Billy, then all of this was her experience and not Billy's experience.

Throughout the book, it seemed to me that Annie was associated with Eastern / Hindu religious concepts. She mentioned that her crown chakra opened for example. Given this then, I'm not surprised that she would experience gods and goddess, in the form of the Hindu traditions.

This is no different than if she were associated with voodoo, she might experience  spirits in the form of voodoo traditions, or if she were associated with say, Hawaiian beliefs, she might experience Hawaiian gods and goddesses such as Pele.

Personally, I prefer Seth's explanation of All That Is over Hindu, Voodoo, Hawaiian, Christian, Jewish, Islamic, ... explanations of who or what is God.

Hi All,

Here's another interesting synchronous event that just occurred to me today.

Lately here in this forum, Deb and I have been talking about Richard Bach and his books. Deb told me that she read his book "One" and that the story behind it was a kind of probable reality type of story that has to do with Ricard and his wife.

Since I've never read this specific book and since it sounded pretty interesting, I thought I'd see if our local library has a copy. It turns out that our library does have a copy, and so about 3 weeks ago, I ordered it electronically. This afternoon, I was notified electronically that this book was ready for pick up and so I went and picked it up.

In the last 6 months or so, my wife and I have been binge watching all of the various Star Trek shows, both the new ones like "Picard" and "Discovery" and the older shows like, "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Deep Space Nine", "Voyager", etc.  Just recently, we've started watching the old Star Trek shows, "The Original Show" with Captain Kirk, Mr Spock and Dr. "Bones" McCoy.

This evening during and after supper, we watched the last episodes of Season 1 and the first two episodes of Season 2. The very last episode that we watched tonight was Season 2 Episode 2, which was titled, "Who Mourns for Adonis".  For those of you who may remember, this is the episode where Kirk and company run into a being on another planet who claims to be the god, Apollo.  In this episode, there is an actress who plays the part of Lt. Carolyn Palamas, who is an archeologist or anthropologist and she goes down to the planet with Kirk and company and then seems to really fall for this being, Apollo.  The person who played the part of Lt. Carolyn Palamas, was the actress Leslie Parrish.

After watching this last show, before going to bed, I thought I'd take a look at this book that I got from the library today, Richard Bach's book, "One". In this book, Richard starts out by telling a story about him and his wife, Leslie, who's flying in his plane. It turns out that his wife, Leslie, is the very same actress who many years before, played the part of Lt. Carolyn Palamas, in this Star Trek episode, Leslie Parrish.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708488/?ref_=ttep_ep2

Now, how synchronous was that?  

Star Trek pops up again in this thread. See my post from June 5. Also, my old illustration instructor Syd Mead (also mentioned in this thread, Jan 30) was a set designer for the first Star Trek movie.

As an aside, since this is not really a synchronicity, Jonathan Frakes (Captain Picard's "number one") was in my wife's graduating high school class. I went with her to her 15th high school reunion, and he was there. This was before the release of Star Trek: Next Generation, so I didn't know him, but he was known as an actor from some daytime soap, and word had spread that he would be in the new Star Trek show. He's still involved, having directed some of the Star Trek: Discovery episodes.

Wow, good one!

Yes, Star Trek keeps coming up here. I haven't seen the show since the original series. I'll have to watch some of the new stuff and see if I get hooked.

This is also not really a synchronicity, but Alan Nimoy, Leonard's nephew, was my chem lab partner in high school. It was the blind leading the blind. He looked just like his uncle, except for the pointy ears.  ;D

That reminds me that when I was working for a design firm in California, a lady in Marketing claimed that she had been asked out by Leonard Nimoy. She referred to him as "Leonard Nemo". We doubted her story. She had a reputation at work for using way too much perfume. Maybe Vulcans don't have a sense of smell.

Hi LarryH, Hi Deb, Hi All,

Those are some awesome "Star Trek" stories everyone.

Deb, the blind leading the blind in a chemistry class, sounds like a potentially explosive event to me.  :)

When I took a chemistry class in a community college many years ago, I can remember my Professor telling us that when he was a young man, he and his friends use to go down to the Mississippi River and throw handfuls of pure sodium (which reacts violently with water) into the river, just for fun.

LarryH, maybe Vulcans do have a good sense of smell and that's why she's not married to Leonard Nemo.  :) 

And then, there's this.  I just started reading this book, "One" by Richard Bach. In the third chapter, the Richard and Leslie of the late 1980's, run into the Richard and Leslie of 1972. The Richard and Leslie of 1972, haven't met each other yet, but they both unknowingly have just rode up in a hotel elevator at the same time together.

As they both leave this elevator, the late 1980's Richard writes the following in his book, "One" in the third chapter.

"And that we don't know what's going on, I thought, doesn't keep us from being the ones in charge. It felt like a baby-chick roundup, these two going in opposite directions when we knew their destiny was to spend the rest of their lives together."

(The bold font in the above quote, is mine.)

Now, along with this, just 3 days ago, at another location in this forum, under the topic of "Laughter is the Best Medicine", Deb posted a video about a woman, Camille, who found a rescued baby chick that was lost in New York City. Camille took this baby chick home with her and over time they have become fast friends.

Then, in response to this video, on the same day that Deb posted it, LarryH replied, "Now, I'm gonna feel guilty next time I eat chicken!  "

Well I guess we're all still on the same page here!

I thought it was interesting Bach felt he and Leslie were meant to be together forever, he's on wife #3 at the moment. I have to say I've never heard the term "baby-chick roundup" before. I've had baby chicks before, they're like popcorn in a popper.

BTW I found Nemo.
Title: Re: Synchronistic Events

Hi Deb, Hi All,

In regards to finding Nemo, I'd say that there's something fishy going on here.  :)
(That was bad, I know, I'm sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself.)

In regards to Richard Bach and Leslie Parrish, I also had the same thoughts. The internet says that they got divorced in 1997. So much for being soul mates for life.

I did a search on her on the internet and I found out from Wikipedia that she's really a pretty interesting person.  She's been an Environmentalist since the 1950's and she was quite involved in stopping the war in Vietnam.  She talked to Bobby Kennedy and really encouraged him to run for office in 1968.

She created STOP (Speakers and Talent Organized for Peace) and on April 4, 1968, her and Leonard Nimoy, who was also a STOP member went to San Francisco to open Eugene McCarthy's new headquarters. Only later to discover on that day that Dr. Martin Luther King had been shot. As a results of this, both she and Leonard Nimoy cried throughout the speeches that they gave that day.

Along with all of this, it also says that for the film Jonathan Livingston Seagull, she was the one who was responsible for the care of the film's real-life seagulls, which she kept inside a room at a Holiday Inn for the duration of the shoot.  I wonder if this is the same Holiday Inn that he mentions in his book, "One" where they went up in an elevator together, each not knowing the other person, at that time?

All in all, it sounds like she's quite a bit more than just your typical actress.

Hi All,

Well, here's another synchronous event that I experienced recently.

During the recently past Christmas time, I rediscovered an "a capella" group that I really enjoy who calls themselves "Pentatonix". This group of 5 people, sings a lot of Christmas music. I really enjoy this group because the quality of their music is, for the most part, absolutely outstanding.

However, in addition to doing Christmas songs, they also cover many other people's songs, including, "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle, "Bohemian Rhapsody", by Queen and "Imagine" by John Lennon, just to name a few.

Being an "a capella" group, they make all the sounds that you hear with their voices and bodies. That is, there are no musical instruments used in the vast majority of their songs. Kevin, one of the members is an amazing "Beatboxer". 

Anyway, recently I came upon a video of them singing the song "Amazing Grace" and so I decided to check it out. Not because I care that much for this specific song or its message (being a Sethite, I hold a different belief system) but because this group almost always sounds so amazing whenever they sing a song. Anyway you can check it out at the link at the bottom if you like.

In this video where the Pentatonix sang the song, "Amazing Grace", the location itself is really beautiful. I did some digging into this location and discovered that it's a place called "The Wayfarers Chapel" which is located in Rancho Palos Verdes, in California.  Rancho Palos Verdes, is a suburb of the Los Angeles area and it's on the sea coast, slightly north and mostly to the west of Long Beach California (where the ship, the Queen Mary, is located).

Furthermore, this location, "The Wayfarers Chapel" is a National Memorial to Emanuel Swedenborg.  According to wikipedia, Emanuel Swedenborg was a Christian "philosopher". Furthermore, according to the wikipedia site, Emanuel Swedenborg had some very open ideas about Christianity, somewhat more "Seth like" in nature and his theological revelation, where a man appeared to him, and gave him his divine inspiration, also sounds a lot like some of the experiences that happened to Jane with her "idea construction" and Seth related experiences.

At another location in this forum, we have recently been talking about philosophers.

jbseth, your Pentatonix post today is the basis for my latest synchronicity. After listening to the link that you posted, I received an email from my neighbor Bill. Bill and I have had numerous synchronicities over the last few years, most of which I have shared in this thread. In this latest email, he shared a link to a different person singing Amazing Grace. But before he sang it, he talked about its history. He shared that its melody is likely to have been overheard by the writer of the words from the gallows of a slave ship that he had once worked on. He also shared that almost all negro spirituals can be sung to a tune played on "only the black keys", and he demonstrated that this was also true about Amazing Grace. The black keys on a piano consist of five notes, and these five notes are referred to as pentatonic notes.

So:
1) You share a song in the syncronicity thread
2) On the same day, a neighbor with whom I have shared many synchronicities sends me a link to the same song
3) The speaker in that link talks about pentatonic notes, using a word that presumably inspired the name Pentatonix.

Hi LarryH, Hi All,

Wow, that's a really cool synchronous event, LarryH. Thanks for sharing.  :)

In the past I've heard (I don't actually know if this is true or not) that the song "Amazing Grace" was written by a man while on board a ship. It seems to me that I may have been told that this came about as a result of this man's ship being involved in a terrible storm. Beyond that, I don't know much about its history.

I do however, know more about the group "The Pentatonix".

Between 2009 and 2014, NBC has a show call the "The Sing Off" which featured a sing off competition of a cappella groups. This was kind of like "American Idol" or "The Voice", only for a cappella groups.

In 2011, Scott, Kirsten and Mitch, three people who had all known each other for some time, and who have sang together in the past decided to try out for the "Sing-Off" show that season. However, they were told that they needed 5 members to participate. As a result of this, they then quickly added Avi (the bass singer) to their group first and then, just 2 days before the competition added Kevin as well (the Beatbox guy).

As I understand it, they very intentionally chose the name "The Pentatonix", for themselves. Again as I understand it, partly because the pentatonic music scale is a 5 note ("penta" = five) scale, partly because the pentatonic scale is used a lot in rock and pop music and partly because there are 5 members of their group.  I personally think that their decision to name themselves "The Pentatonix" was pure genius.

Now, it turns out that they were a really good a cappella group. So good, in fact that they actually "won" the NBC's Sing-Off competition that year.

In 2017, their bass singer, Avi, sadly decided to leave the group under amicable conditions and so they then hired a new bass signer named Matt.  If you watch any of their videos, some of them contain Avi and some of the newer ones contain Matt instead.

The major pentatonic scale consists of the first, the second, the third, the fifth and the sixth notes of the major scale.

While it is true that the black keys on a piano (G-flat, A-flat, B-flat, D-flat, and E-flat) make up a pentatonic scale, (specifically they make up the G-flat pentatonic scale) not all pentatonic scales, are necessarily this G-flat pentatonic scale.  This is kind of like saying that all thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs.

As I previously mentioned, the pentatonic scale is used in a lot of rock music. Back in the 1950's, at the birth of rock music, it consisted of a merging of many different kinds of music including, "the blues". Since the blues has always been largely based upon the pentatonic scale, it is for this reason that a lot of rock music is also largely based upon the pentatonic scale.

After writing all of this, I finally watched the video that you (LarryH) attached.

Wow. Talk about goosebumps. That man, Wintley Phipps has an awesome voice.

Thank you, thank you, LarryH, for sharing this video with us. I loved it. :)

Hi LarryH,

I noticed that in the video that you posted in reply #200, the video was titled "Bill and Gloria Gaithner – Amazing Grace ft. Wintley Phipps (Live).

From what I've been able to determine from the internet, it appears that it was Wintley Phipps who told us the story behind the song "Amazing Grace" and then sang this song in this video.

Wikipedia describes Bill and Gloria Gaithner as singers of contemporary Christian music.

https://nortonsafe.search.ask.com/web?q=bill%20and%20gloria%20gaither&prt=NGC&chn=1122&geo=US&ver=22.20.5.39&locale=en_US&tpr=111&guid=999377F7-F2C8-4C03-915B-1CBE18013915&doi=2017-12-12&o=APN11912

Wikipedia also describes Wintley Phipps as a singer, songwriter and Seventh-day Adventist minister.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wintley_Phipps

I've found a similar video where Wintley Phipps sings at a national prayer service where President Obama was in attendance (see link at bottom)

The video that you posted in reply #200, looks like it was shot at some place like perhaps the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.  I was wondering if you or maybe your neighbor knows where this video was actually shot?

Thanks

I think the Kennedy Center has a much more contemporary architecture, but I will ask my neighbor if he knows the location.

Here's a fun little synchronicity that just happened yesterday. My BIL, who lives in Florida, asked me how he could start seeds for a native plant, Butterfly Pea flower, and how long they would take to germinate? I'm a long-time gardener, so he thought I'd know. I said germination time varies from plant to plant, so he'd have to look on the seed packet or search the internet since I'd not heard of the plant before. Then I realized the plant he was asking about sounded oddly familiar to me and I made the connection.

One week ago my ex texted me asking how he should handle starting seeds for a native plant (he's in North Carolina). Spurred Butterfly Pea Flower! He even sent me a photo, they're beautiful. I may be moving to FL in the fall, this will be on my wish list.

What makes it even more of a "coincidence" is that the BIL and ex are both named Peter.

Which was also my father's and grandfather's name. Or as the family joked, Pete and Re-Pete.

Hi All,

Here's another synchronous event.

Last night my wife and I took a look at the usual TV shows that we typically watch and discovered that we were all caught up, on all of them.  That being the case, we decided to watch a movie that my wife had heard some time ago in the past, and has been wanting to see, but we haven't seen it yet. This movie is called "Radioactive", and it's all about the life of Madam Curie, the woman who discovered among other things, the element, Radium.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6017756/

On Bing, typically every day, they have a link called, "On this Day in History" and on this link, they typically show 4 events that occurred sometime in the past, on that particular day.

Today, on Bing, under their "On this Day in History" link, the first of the 4 events, was the story that on this day, April 20, 1902, the Curies isolated Radium.

I'd say that this was some pretty interesting timing.

I don't know if these fit the description.  Both have happened in the last week.

These could easily be lumped into the category of coincidence but what if all coincidences are actually synchronistic events?

And of course the chips one could just be Amazon listening to me through my Echo that I have set up in the living room.  ;)

I guess the case of chips was a case of careful what you wish for!  ;)

Well, everyone says there are no coincidences. I take things like this as a little wink and nod from the universe. You get enough of these in a row and it's another clue that there's more to reality than what we've been told.

I was actually happy.  The BBQ are really good! :)

The "there are no coincidences" thing is a saying that many people use, perhaps without giving it any more thought than they do any other saying.  It is kind of cool to think that perhaps there is actually something to the saying. ;D

Hi All,

I'm not sure exactly how to put this into words. I'm wondering if it's a slight flip of perception.  Do we experience what we do because we caused events on a 3d level. Or do we experience events in the 3d that we created from another level of our being, that we then call synchronicity?! :o

That's as close as I can get to verbally describing it.

I believe I have shared somewhere here about the controversial minister Terry Jones, who used to have a church in Gainesville, FL about 6 miles from my current home. About 10 years ago, he got international attention when he posted signs that said "Islam is of the devil" in front of his church. He also threatened to burn hundreds of Korans at one point, but he did not go through with it. Incidentally, he was in the same graduating HS class as Rush Limbaugh (for that that's worth). He has a distinctive look with a horseshoe mustache. I saw him twice in the grocery store.

Fast-forward to last week when a person in my HS graduating class, who is now a Unitarian Universalist minister, emailed me. After we emailed back and forth, I had the impulse to do a Google Images search for our high school in Dearborn, MI. The school now has a majority Muslim student body. When I did the search, there was a picture of Terry Jones. (//)"What's this?," I thought. It was part of a 2012 article detailing his visit to my high school where he wanted to have a rally against the problems that he perceived related to this Muslim issue. He had a handgun, and when an officer saw it, he made Jones return it to his car, which, as described in the article, was parked at a corner that would put his car in front of the house next door to where I had lived.

The rally was scheduled to run from 1 to 4 pm, but they left about 2:20 pm. Officers then escorted Jones back to his car.

"During the rally, about 10 people stood with Jones and Sapp in support of them in front of the school; a like number of protesters were kept about 25 yards away, behind barriers. They held signs and chanted things like "Stay away from our kids" and 'Terry Jones go home.'"

So the guy had driven his car over 1,100 miles to have a rally for 1 hour and 20 minutes where 10 people participated and a similar number protested his presence.

I emailed my friend again, and she emailed me back that she remembered that incident and had participated in "a loving interfaith response to his presence" at a Muslim Mosque in Dearborn. But the real synchronicity is my brush with him both in person in Florida and his parking next to my former home in Michigan.

@T.M. ,that's a good question. Seth did not say much about synchronicities, but this is one quote:

"The inner senses, though I have in the past described them by separating their functions and characteristics, basically operate together in such a way that in your terms it would be highly difficult to separate one from the others. They function with a perfect spontaneous order, aware of all synchronicities. In that psychological universe, then, it is possible for entities "to be everywhere at once," aware of everything at once. Your world is composed of such "entities"—the units of consciousness that form your body. The kinds of conscious minds that you have cannot hold that kind of information."
—DEaVF1 Chapter 5: Session 900, February 11, 1980

The concept of synchronicity originated with Carl Jung. He collaborated with the physicist Wolfgang Pauli to come up with an explanation. They came up with the concept of "unus mundus", Latin for one world. I wonder whether unus mundus corresponds to Framework 2. In that case, we could say that synchronous events originate in Framework 2.

"Jung, in conjunction with the physicist Wolfgang Pauli, explored the possibility that his concepts of archetypes and synchronicity might be related to the unus mundus - the archetype being an expression of unus mundus; synchronicity, or "meaningful coincidence", being made possible by the fact that both the observer and connected phenomenon ultimately stem from the same source, the unus mundus."

Based on this quote, I see synchronicities as guidance from nonphysical:

"It is, therefore, quite to everyone's advantage that Framework 2 is not neutral. Faith in a creative, fulfilling, desired end, sustained faith, literally draws from Framework 2 all of the necessary ingredients, all of the elements however staggering in number, arranges all the details, and then inserts into Framework 1 the impulses, dreams, chance meetings, motivations, or whatever is necessary so that the desired end then falls into place as a completed pattern."
—TPS4 Deleted Session October 24, 1977

Since things don't happen for "no reason," synchronicities are part of the path to accomplishing a goal, but some are less obvious than others. And may become more obvious when the goal is met and we think about all the events that came together to bring us where we are. Because I feel the universe also has a sense of humor, I wonder if some things like the bbq chips are just a wink, or maybe an acknowledgement?

Then there's Larry experience around Terry Jones. @Larry, do you have any sense of the "why" behind all of that? I can look back at some synchronicities in my life and connect the dots, but others just leave me scratching my head.

Many of my synchronicities have some sort of spiritual connection, and this one is no exception. A further small synchronicity is that I am in contact with exactly two fellow high school graduates and exactly two fellow college graduates. The one high school graduate is the UU minister. One of the college friends is now a Catholic Priest in the same small town as the UU minister at the time, a fact that I did not know until now. So in a way, we have a complex confluence involving a Catholic Priest, a Unitarian Universalist minister, a conservative Christian minister, the Muslim religion, and myself, a person whose spiritual beliefs are grounded in the Seth materials.

Hi All,

Hi Sena,

Funny you should mention Jung. I've gotten bored with my regular YT channels and started watching channels that discuss Jungs various books and concepts. It's very much helping me to organize the various subjects Seth talks about too. It's almost like they are students in the same classroom in some respects.

Hi Deb,

Yes the quote from TPS4 comes very close to what I was thinking!

The other day, I was thinking about an old mystery related to the place that I rented while in college. It was the second floor of the home of a widow whose deceased husband had been the chief chassis engineer of the original Ford Mustang. The mystery started when decades later, while working at a medical device company, I attended a seminar on product safety, and the case of the Ford Pinto was discussed. The Pinto had a reputation for exploding when rear-ended because the gas tank was just in front of the rear bumper, causing the tank to sometimes rupture in a rear-end collision. During the presentation, a memo that was damaging to Ford was displayed on the screen. The last name of the person who signed it was that of the deceased husband of my landlady. I could not remember his first name, so I filed away what may have been a coincidental same last name and didn't think any more about it until the other day. The day after I was thinking about this, I was listening to a music CD in my car when I had the impulse to switch to the radio mid-song. The radio was tuned to NPR, and the discussion was about the Pinto crash class action suit, which was now nearly 50 years past. This coincidence prompted me to google the issue when I got home. I found that indeed the Mustang chief chassis engineer was the person who had signed the damaging memo. One of the articles in the google search discussed this engineer's involvement with the Boss 429 Mustang, a high-performance version of the vehicle. Also mentioned in that article was a discussion between this engineer and Larry Shinoda, who had not only contributed to the styling details of the car but had also come up with the "Boss" name. That is an added synchronicity because Shinoda, later working for a different company, gave me my first job offer out of college, and I had no idea that these two knew one another.
Title: Re: Synchronistic Events
Post by: Deb on November 01, 2021, 07:42:31 PM
Hah, I saw the name Shinoda and my mind immediately went to Richard Bach's Illusions book (Donald Shimoda character). Why is it I can remember things like that, but sometimes not know what day of the week it is? Lol.

Wow, nice story, glad you could put all of that together. Actually, it's pretty crazy. I love how things happen to us—we usually just accept experiences as life at the time, and then many years later finally connect the dots. Sometimes it doesn't take that much time to realize how things/events are related, but it's always fun and awe-inspiring. I've long felt that everything has meaning, or happens for a reason, but we often see that in hindsight*.

I've recently had three "ah-has" involving telepathy and also reality creation. I'll post about them when I get a chance.

*non sequitur warning: I used to have an optometrist whose name was William Hines. His practice was "Hines Sight." Hindsight is 20/20. How perfect is that? :)
