Title: BodyMap Assessment Tool
Post by: John Sorensen on March 12, 2016, 07:57:39 PM

I've never heard of this Body Map / Bodyanimc thing before, but some really interesting reading at Gestaltreality.com (a site I often link to for its hosting of the complete Seth Exercises in downloadable PDF format)

The idea is that it maps out locations of stored trauma / unprocessed stuff via the physical body. It's interesting to see a number of different fields confirming some things that have been in Yoga for a long time, and any long term Yoga practitioner will be familiar with trauma stored in the physical body.

To me this makes great sense, from an intellectually and intuitively, and through experience.

If our body is one expression of our spirits, then it makes sense to me that different areas (muscles, organs, etc) are expressions too on a micro level.

I see an energy mover here in Melbourne. Maybe once a year now. I've never heard of the body map idea before, but when I read it and checked the link, it's very similar to what this man does.

He doesn't do it as academically as what I read, but rather intuitively. But a touch from him feels like surgery, and pushes out thoughts and emotions, many that are repressed, or unnecessary beliefs come into focus.

Its all very love focussed. I highly recommend him to anyone here who brings up certain issues they are facing. Unfortunately, many go once, but find it so confronting they rarely visit twice.

Nice find John.

I totally believe this.  Louise Hays work is another good resource.  She has a list in one of her books that identifies how each part of the body symbolically  represents an issue...."pain in the neck"  "can't handle it"   "cutting off at the knees".

Oh cool. I had no idea. I lived in Gippsland for several years and have moved to Perth for the second time around 1.5 years ago. But actually I grew up in NZ, but now I'm an Australian Citizen so they can't kick me out. Yay for me!

Cool John. If you're ever visiting out this way, let me know, we can catch up over a coffee.

I've been wanting to visit NZ lately. Maybe my next holiday.

I won't be over that way for at least a couple years. Half my family was in VIC until recently but now we are all over the place.
But yeah next time I am going to  VIC I'll let you know, it would be cool to meet a fellow Sethie.
