I know this topic has been discussed on here many times and in the future as I find those discussions I will link them here or this can be moved and linked elsewhere however I think this is very appropriate for this discussion.

"Conscious desire to achieve a given end may represent only a superficial, culturally-adopted wish, that may even be directly opposed to the emotionally-charged desires and expectations of the inner self."

—The Early Sessions Book 2, Session 81,August 26, 1964

I find that an ecology check with our desires is definitely beneficial in discovering if this is something that our inner self  is fully supportive of.

Seth mentions over and over how important communing with our inner self is in my own words, like a highest order. If we lack this relationship then we can feel quite cut off from the world, from anything that makes sense, that we do not belong here,  how to create or what to create and these types of things.

We are our own myth and our own best friend. We are the friend that lays down its old life for the new self to emerge.

Do you think using a pendant works to check outer and inner goals are aligned?

Chestnut bud Bach remedy is good if you manifesting is hitting a wall. Some people keep attempting the same goal but keep failing the chestnut bud will bring outer physical manifestation in line with inner so you will either drop the goal or approach it in a different way. Great if you feel stuck.

Yes, it's a popular topic. And a good one. I'm going to share something that I've been holding onto for probably months. Lynda Dahl posted it on Facebook, and I think it fits nicely here.

Quote from: Lynda DahlHi Seth friends, the whole 'you create your own reality' line has been so misunderstood at times that some folks completely miss the true purpose of physical reality—and it is not to create whatever our hearts desire, no holds barred; and it's not to organize each event alone, all by ourselves, with us literally creating the players we need to fulfill 'our' event from scratch.

– Here's Seth for some clarification:

"What you are learning is a technique for self-development. You cannot use it, therefore, to attain those things that do not pertain to your own self-development and the techniques will not help you get something that you were not meant to have nor that you have before decided as an entity that you should not have.

"Nevertheless, the facts remain that your own inner self and your own entity have given you challenges that you have accepted. Now you know these challenges; subconsciously you are aware of them. ...

"There must be an open-minded, an openhearted attitude here. You must not try to use what you have learned in a narrow, limiting way. This hampers your own development. It closes your eyes to many possibilities that will be important to you.

"It is natural, perhaps, to want to use what you have learned, this information, as a technique to achieve what you at any particular time think desirable, a particular person, a particular thing. But what is important is the inner development. If this is taken care of, it will automatically lead you to the person that is best for you and to the circumstances that will help you develop.

"To insist that a specific individual or a specific goal be attained through these methods is limiting. There must always be the acknowledgement that you do not consciously as yet realize the depths of yourself, the goals you have set and the challenges, and this material should be used to open up your inner horizons and to lead you in those directions toward which your inner self has already set you.

"If you then egotistically, say—No—this particular situation is what I want, then you may be blocking the inner direction which has been meant for you."

Our (individual) physical universe is like a baby activity-center ...

It is meant to help us grow in our early stages, while keeping us safe.

We are here to learn and practice creating reality. We already do it, as every unit and gestalt of consciousness does. It just is that we aren't good at it yet. Some are more advanced at it than others, and we're all protected, can't really hurt ourselves, and in no way can hurt others.

"You create your own reality" is like "you cook your own meals" ... Everybody does it, but results vary. Some get indigestion, food poisoning, bland meals. It isn't a mater of just wanting to cook well and following recipes.

We need to improve focus, intellect, intuition, use of inner-senses, accumulate knowledge, practice, get confidence  ... It can't be done "overnight".

As you learn and feel different, inside, and as we are testing this information, doing the exercises/the work, the outer part plays catch up. So does a questioning and curious, personality. Identity can be a major thing. All the while our beliefs are being questioned by our in-training parts of self as they orbit the inner self.

The session below can be very useful to remember.

And so much more !

I think this session fits here:

      The Nature of Personal Reality

Part One: Where You and the World Meet

Chapter 4: Your Imagination and Your Beliefs, and a Few Words About the Origin of Your Beliefs

  Session 622, October 18, 1972

[... 9 paragraphs ...]

For a time then you may experience a feeling of loss as you move from one group of beliefs to another. However, others, sharing your new beliefs, will gravitate toward you and you to them. I will say more about this later in the book, but it explains for example why a diet-watcher, suddenly determined to lose weight, may meet with veiled or even open resistance from family or friends; why the person who makes new resolutions may find himself baffled by associates' ridicule; why the alcoholic trying not to drink finds others tempting him quite openly, or teasing him into indulgence by hidden tactics.

This next session I find, is a huge one. I encourage a reading of this entire session because this post does not convey the entirety of this information rightfully.

But it does show key points.

The art of abundance and plenty. Oh my!

The Early Sessions: Book 8 of The Seth Material

  Session 404 April 8, 1968
        9 PM Monday

[... 7 paragraphs ...]

Now. I recommended Maltz because his exercises are based on truths, even though he does not fully understand what lies beneath. Do you want me to tell you how to better your financial circumstances, or do you want to learn the hard way?

[... 4 paragraphs ...]

Now your financial situation will not change no matter how you push yourself, unless you apply such simple exercises. You do not do this naturally, which is why they are required. You must indeed think consciously in terms of plenty rather than of want. On several occasions Ruburt has followed these and your wants have been fulfilled.

You have been fighting him in this regard, and this has impeded the efforts he has lately been making. Now these exercises will prove themselves out in practical terms, but you must give them the opportunity to prove themselves.

[... 67 paragraphs ...]

Whenever you find yourself thinking of your bank account follow the exercise I have just given you. I am not suggesting that you take the time out. I am suggesting that you devote the same amount of time constructively that you are now spending destructively, and that the new exercises take the place of the old automatically followed negative exercises that you have indeed been faithfully following.

Simply this. Whenever you catch yourself in the old worries, remind yourself of this session, and immediately substitute one of the minute and simple exercises I have provided. You do not have to kneel down before a money god two hours a day.

For all of your objections Ruburt has studiously taken 15 or 20 minutes a day in what he rightly believes to be practical exercises to better your financial condition. He has had enough success spasmodically to know that the exercises work.

[... 8 paragraphs ...]

You were not indeed, far from it. From the time you purchased your car Ruburt has daily done exercises to lead toward its payment. Whenever your rent has been raised he has done the same, and any outstanding bill for the last six months has met the same treatment. Before this he made subconscious efforts that he felt you did not understand.

[... 5 paragraphs ...]

Since you are however so strongly concerned with it these exercises will be of great benefit. I will give you a practical example here. Now Ruburt in his exercises has been imagining vividly his dream book sold, selling. While you have been imagining the dwindling accounts and pessimistically thinking that after all the book may not sell, and to be practical you cannot be sure that the outline will sell and your efforts therefore have been knocking each other out.

[... 6 paragraphs ...]

You must allow yourself to think naturally, and thoughts of plenty will follow. You should not ideally have to do any exercises. They are to counter the negative exercises that you are doing.

[... 10 paragraphs ...]

Understanding will help you. The exercises I have given you in themselves will begin to negate the causes behind this failure. Do you see?

[... 11 paragraphs ...]

The whole session in the book is very detailed about how Jane does the 15/20 minute exercise daily, in the land of plenty.

QuoteFor fifteen minutes a day agree to suspend critical judgment, and following the Maltz method imagine yourself vividly in the position you would like to be. The rest of the time consciously make an effort to control your attitude when you find yourself thinking in terms of want or poverty. Then switch your thoughts to ideas of plenty. This need not involve hypocrisy, indeed must not. You must feel that this is legitimate and practical, because the thoughts of plenty will automatically begin to attract plenty. This is sufficient. There should not be an overemphasis on material possessions or security however.
