Hi All,

According to Bing, on this day in history:

1) In 1614, Pocahontas married John Rolfe

2) In 1772, Easter Island was discovered

3) in 1885, Darwin submits "Origin"

4) in 1992, Kurt Cobain died.

In his "Mass Events" book, Seth does say quite a bit about Darwin's "survival of the fittest" ideas.

I find it kind of interesting that in this particular spring, in the year 2020, where many of us are talking about the coronavirus epidemic mass event and where some of us are reading Seth's "Mass Events" book which talks about Darwin's survival of the fittest theory, that today, April 5, happens to be the day he submitted his "Origins of the Species" where he talks about his survival of the fittest ideas.

I was taught about Darwin in school of course, he appeared very intelligent with ground-breaking discoveries in one area of the mystery of nature and life.

And now, the rest of the story, lol.

A few years ago I read Spontaneous Evolution (Bruce Lipton) and got a whole different view of Darwin and The Origin of the Species. I found this lengthy article that repeats some of the things Bruce said in his book, such as Darwin was born into a wealthy family of doctors, and they paved the way for his frequent study changes in college. Darwin ended up training to be a priest since, he couldn't hack the medical field. He ended up with a BA with some theology and mathematics training.

According to Lipton, Darwin ended up on the research ship the Beagle as a social companion to the captain. There was a bona fide botanist/naturalist (whatever they are called) on board, but he ended up storming off the ship somewhere in South America, possibly an argument with the captain. So then Darwin became the official expert in natural history—with no training, other than a little schooling in medicine and a little in theology.

It's rumored that Darwin's Origins actually plagiarized the work of Patrick Matthew. The article is long and I haven't read it completely, but there's a lot of interesting information in there. Not sure how true it all is, probably no less than what history teaches. :)

Seth mentioned Darwin a few times, had some things to say about his struggles with religion and god. Here's a good one:

• "Darwin was faced with the proposition of a kind god who was more cruel than any human being, and with supernatural power behind him to boot—so Darwin tried to justify God's ways to man."

• "Nature took the place of the devil in an insidious sleight-of-hand that initially Darwin himself never expected. He wanted to show that God was not responsible for the world's cruelties. Darwin loved nature in all of its aspects, yet he could not reconcile its beauties and splendors with the course of its events. He could not bear to see a cat play with a mouse, without blaming God who would permit such cruelty. He tried to wipe God's hands clean, as he understood the nature of God through his early beliefs—but in so doing he wiped the soul from the face of nature."

Oh, there's a link to an article at the bottom of the page, "Darwinisn and the Nazi Holocaust." I bet that's an interesting read.
