Looking inside exercise

Hi All, does anyone recall the looking inside exercise, where you sit still and with eyes closed turn your senses inward? It's either in SS or NoPR but I can't find it. Seth says to first listen and from listening images will appear. Believe you are seeing a hidden world and know the things you see there are as real as what you see in this world. I like this exercise a lot but I am completely rubbish at it, I literally see nothing in half an hour of sitting still. However I do feel very light and slightly euphoric when I have finished, I just wish some images would come to me. Has anyone had any success with this exercise and what kinds of things have you seen? Thanks

Deb

I do remember that, from a long time ago. There's a PDF compilation of Seth's exercises, you can read or download it through a link on this page: https://speakingofseth.com/index.php?topic=80.msg=msg445  Take a look at the PDF index (it's on Dropbox) and you'll probably be able to figure out which exercise it is, and in which book.

I guess I do a version of this almost every night when I'm trying to get to sleep. I'll focus inward, focus my "sight" to beyond my eyelids (not sure how to explain this, but can feel my eyes shifting focus into distance). Then I mentally say to my inner self, "please show me things." Pretty soon various images float through my vision. Some of them are objects that I recognize, some of them are objects that seem other-worldly. I can tell they are objects of some sort, but I don't have the experience or words to make sense out of them. It's really interesting.

It could also be the feeling tone exercise (NoPR), where you turn inward and find the feeling inside that is you. I've done that in the daytime and find, it's great for grounding. Such as if I'm stressed out about something, it brings me back to my whole self rather than being completely in my head.

Thanks Deb for the pdf link, I can't find the exercise there but I will try your method. I think my psychic powers are weak so any tips are gratefully received  :)

You're welcome. I'm normally thick as a brick with the psychic stuff myself, but things seem to be loosening up a bit lately. I suspect there's a learning curve there. I have a feeling that once things start coming through, the flood gates open.  ;D

For anyone else who happens to lack a copy of Seth Speaks, I found the exercise online:

"The inner senses will allow you to perceive the reality that is independent of physical form. I will ask you all to momentarily forsake your roles therefore, and to try this simple exercise.
...
Now, pretend that you are on a lighted stage, the stage being the room in which you now sit. Close your eyes and pretend that the lights have gone out, the setting has disappeared and you are alone.

Everything is dark. Be quiet. Imagine as vividly as you can the existence of inner senses. For now pretend that they correspond to your physical ones. Clear from your mind all thoughts and worries. Be receptive. Very gently listen, not to physical sounds but to sounds that come through the inner senses.

Images may begin to appear. Accept them as sights quite as valid as those you see physically. Pretend that there is an inner world, and that it will be revealed to you as you learn to perceive it with these inner senses.

Pretend that you have been blind to this world all your life, and are now slowly gaining sight within it. Do not judge the whole inner world by the disjointed images that you may at first perceive, or by the sounds that you may at first hear, for you will still be using your inner senses quite imperfectly.

Do this simple exercise for a few moments before sleep or in the resting state. It may also be done even in the midst of an ordinary task that does not take all of your attention.

You will simply be learning to focus in a new dimension of awareness, taking quick snapshots, as it were, in a strange environment. Remember that you will only be perceiving snatches. Simply accept them, but do not attempt to make any overall judgments or interpretations at this stage.
Ten minutes a day to begin with is quite sufficient."
