Often, from Seth's perspective, the apparent cause is the effect, and vice versa

This is quite interesting:

Nature realizes that there is no such thing as waste. This statement applies also to your earlier questions this evening about the sperm. Nothing in the stream of life is wasted, and everything, whether in your system of reality or not, is in the stream of life. You were born in the Depression, Ruburt shortly thereafter. Thrift was a necessity in those times. There were great contrasts in that period, however—deprivation, severest economic conditions, a spareness of attitude, set off by the greatest criminal activity, the wildest of parties. People broke the prohibition laws who never drank before, and did not like to drink. The ideas of thrift and the puritan attitudes were not the result of the Depression, but helped cause it.

It often seems that our perception of a cause-effect instance needs to be reversed, when looked from Sethian perspective: the apparent cause is the effect, and vice versa.
Although I don't always write it explicitly, it should be inferred that everything I post is "my belief", "my opinion" on that subject, at that moment.

Whoa, that deserves more thought. THAT was a huge example of mass reality. But of course, we make our own reality on a mass level too.

Then there are always people who make money despite "everyone else" struggling. Look at all the money made during covid...

Recent studies discovered that low serotonin levels don't cause depression!.

This is a funny presentation of this scandalous discovery:

Focusing on lack leads me to despair. And depression.

Man so true!

THIS guy again, he's a crackup. I'm surprised he hasn't been banned from YouTube over this one.

I escaped to the mountains yesterday, spent the night in a motel that has live TV. I only have cable at home (thankfully) and so haven't been exposed to commercials in quite some time. It's amazing how many these days are dedicated to pharmaceuticals and the high speed list of side effects (usually diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, strokes, heart attacks... death lol) always cracks me up because yes, they're always distracting people with happy social interactions while they're doing it.

We do get what we focus upon. I seem to recall Seth also talked about these pharma commercials, plus regular wellness exams like mammograms, that keep ill health on our radar.

Just had a thought. If we get what we focus upon, isn't THAT essentially cause and effect?  ???

No Evidence That Depression Is Caused by Low Serotonin Levels
·July 20, 2022

Summary: A new comprehensive review disputes the serotonin theory of depression, reporting there remains no clear evidence that serotonin levels or serotonin activity is responsible for depression.

Source: UCL

After decades of study, there remains no clear evidence that serotonin levels or serotonin activity are responsible for depression, according to a major review of prior research led by UCL scientists.

The new umbrella review – an overview of existing meta-analyses and systematic reviews – published in Molecular Psychiatry, suggests that depression is not likely caused by a chemical imbalance, and calls into question what antidepressants do.

Most antidepressants are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which were originally said to work by correcting abnormally low serotonin levels. There is no other accepted pharmacological mechanism by which antidepressants affect the symptoms of depression.

Lead author Professor Joanna Moncrieff, a Professor of Psychiatry at UCL and a consultant psychiatrist at North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT), said: "It is always difficult to prove a negative, but I think we can safely say that after a vast amount of research conducted over several decades, there is no convincing evidence that depression is caused by serotonin abnormalities, particularly by lower levels or reduced activity of serotonin.

As I recall, Seth says that there is no cause-and-effect as-we-understand-it. I think his main contention is the sequentiality and determinism that we attribute to the cause-and-effect relation. The "cause", as the initiator of an action, can be in the past, in the future, in another probable reality.

Although I don't always write it explicitly, it should be inferred that everything I post is "my belief", "my opinion" on that subject, at that moment.
