Quote from: ECS4 Nov 2, 1971All plants have minds.
*****
they are highly active
*****
For one week stop asking questions of the universe and simply listen to what it has to say to you. As soon as you ask questions, you are necessarily directing information in a certain manner which is all right, but for counterpoint this week simply listen.
*****
the universe speaks in many voices, and it can indeed speak through a leaf if you have the wits to listen. Then you can learn much. It can speak in the silence of a room
*****
At times you fill the atmosphere, as you think of it, with questions and with noise and you demand answers. Yet all the time far more important messages are there for you if you would once forget your questions and simply listen. Concepts that you have not thought of are there for you.
*****
there are also more important issues, and you should learn of them. There should be questions in your mind besides, what was I in the previous life?
*****
Such as, what is the nature of reality? What is the meaning of existence?
*****
through direct experience and through opening yourselves up you will receive direct knowledge even though you may not be able to verbalize it later. And you will not get such knowledge by asking goodies of the universe
*****
In the silence of your own thoughts, listen. As I have told you before, look where there seems to be nothing. Between sounds, between objects, not in your thoughts but between your thoughts, and there you will find answers but not to questions that you postulate in a demanding manner. And this is what I want you to do for the following week.
*****
What does the plant say? Forget that the plant speaks to you, but what does the plant on its own say? What does the tree say? Not as you are related to the tree, but what does it say, for it speaks. What does the air mean when it swirls about the windows? How is this related to the nature of reality, for it is? You are focusing your questions too deeply upon yourselves and in so doing you are cutting down the kind of information that you can receive.
*****
I want to open you all up to those unspecified dimensions that escape your notice.
*****
I want to shake you out of yourselves for a change.
*****
Now, first of all, over here to our profiled friend you are already the self that you want to be so do not let it bother you so. Relax more with what you are doing and let the perceptions from the whole self become your own. You are making artificial separations. You are trying too hard to be too good in other words. The self that you are is already good. The compassion itself is already there so you do not have to work so hard to be compassionate. Simply allow yourself to be.
*****
Now I want you all to ease up and realize that you are also your entities now. The deeper self wants you to become familiar with its own identity. The reincarnational material is excellent, but many of you have been overemphasizing it so that it serves to set up separations within you, and you think in terms of separate selves and this is not the case. That is why I want you to be more open this week. To listen uncritically. To not set the bands or questions of any specific nature but to listen as you go about your day. To listen to the day.
*****
I want you to settle yourselves within the moment as it exists for you. Do not take it for granted. Do not take anything for granted this week, either that objects are stationery or that time goes from one moment to the next. Simply watch the experience that you have and try not to transpose old concepts upon it, but leave yourselves open for the fresh experience of what is now. And begin now. Your thoughts, all of your thoughts at this moment, to you seem to come and go without a trace and yet they leave traces that you do not see, nor perceive, nor even sense, and yet if you quietly examine your experience, if you listen to the universe, you can begin to perceive some of these realities and that is what I want you to do. In the dreaming state as well as the waking state.

Quote"When you are in touch with your psyche, you experience direct knowledge. Direct knowledge is comprehension. When you are dreaming, you are experiencing direct knowledge about yourself or about the world. You are comprehending your own being in a different way. When you are reading a book, you are experiencing indirect knowledge that may or may not lead to comprehension. Comprehension itself exists whether or not you have the words — or even the thoughts — to express it. You may comprehend the meaning of a dream without understanding it at all in verbal terms. Your ordinary thoughts may falter, or slip and slide around your inner comprehension without ever really coming close to expressing it."

Quote from: TES7 #304The physical universe is real and not real, as you know.  You create physical matter and then perceive it.  If there were no purpose in the creation of physical matter, it would not exist and you would not perceive it.  That is, it would not exist even as an illusion.
****
There is every reason to explore inner reality, but this exploration should lead you to understand the nature of physical reality also.  Perhaps your physical existence could be compared with an excellent book, given to you by a teacher.

You are completely immersed in it.  Because you realize that you are reading such a book and acting out the part of the main character, and plunged into a three-dimensional existence, this does not mean that you can afford to throw the book away nor that you should refuse to read it.

You may of course realize its nature, and this is a step forward.  The teacher who gives you the book is reading another book, and acting another part.
****
When you have out-of-body experiences, you can become aware of the nature of inner reality more directly.

This knowledge helps you use and direct physical laws, not ignore them.  You use them more efficiently, and for the purposes of the inner self.  You begin to create physical matter so that it does indeed reflect the inner self, and in so doing, you effect changes that are noticed by others and serve as an example.

Through exploring inner reality you are indeed in contact with All That Is.  The experience must be primarily a solitary one however on your part.

... the ego is a part of the self.  We are acquainting it with other portions of the self.  It is still the director of physical activities.  Properly trained and intuitively governed this portion of the self can be of benefit in survival circumstances.

Quote from: NotP #763It is not just that there are other functions of the mind, unused, but that in those terms you have other minds.  You have one brain, it is true, but you allow it to use only one station, or to identify itself with only one mind of many.

It seems evident to you that one person has one mind.  You identify with the mind you use.  If you had another, then it would seem as if you must be someone else.  A mind is a psychic pattern through which you interpret and form reality.  You have physical limbs that you can see.  You have minds that are invisible.  Each one can organize reality in a different fashion.  Each one deals with its own kind of knowledge.

These minds all work together to keep you alive through the physical structure of the brain.  When you use all of these minds, then and only then do you become fully aware of your surroundings: You perceive reality more clearly than you do now, more sharply, brilliantly, and concisely.  At the same time, however, you comprehend it directly.  You comprehend what it is apart from your physical perception of it.  You accept as yourself those other states of consciousness native to your other minds.  You achieve true personhood.

In terms of history, some ancient races achieved such goals, but in your terms, so long ago that you cannot find evidence of their knowledge.

Throughout the centuries various individuals have come close, yet had no vehicle of expression that would have enabled the members of the species to understand.  They possessed methods, but the methods presupposed or necessitated a knowledge that others did not possess.
Although I don't always write it explicitly, it should be inferred that everything I post is "my belief", "my opinion" on that subject, at that moment.

Quote from: NOME #822The inner ego is a portion of the self, for example – is the portion of your self – that is aware of your reincarnational activities.  It is the part of you that exists outside of time, yet simultaneously lives in time.  You form your own reality.  The ego that you are aware of obviously could not form your body for you, however, or grow your bones.  It knows how to assess the conditions of the world.  It makes deductions.  Your reasoning is highly important, yet alone it cannot pump your blood or tell your eyes how to see.

The inner ego does the actual work that brings about the events you have decided upon.  In very simple terms, if you want to pick up a book, and then do so, you experience that event consciously, though you are quite unaware of all of the inner events that occurred to bring the motion about.  The inner ego directs those activities.

If you want to change your job, and hold that desire, a new job will come into your experience in precisely the same fashion, in that the inner events will be arranged by the inner ego.  A body event involves the working of numerous muscles and joints and so forth.  An event involving a job change concerns motion on the part of many people, and implies a network of communication on the part of all of the inner egos involved.  Obviously, then, a mass physical event implies an inner system of communications of proportions that would put your technological communications to shame.

You may then, again, unknowingly acquire an illness and recover, never aware of your malady, being healed because of a series of events that would seemingly have nothing to do with the illness itself – because in Framework 2 the inner ego, knowing the reason for the illness, and its cure, brought those precise situations and remedied the condition.  Such events happen automatically, when nothing hampers recovery at your end.

The communication between the inner and outer egos should obviously be as clear and open as possible.  As a general rule, the inner ego depends upon your assessment of physical eventsYour involvement in the private aspects of your living, and your participation in mass events, has much to do with your estimation of the physical situation, and with your beliefs and desires regarding it

A very simple example: If you want to write a letter you do so.  There is no conflict between your desires, beliefs, and the execution of the act, so the action itself flows smoothly.  If for some reason or another, through a poor assessment of your reality, you believe that such an act is dangerous, then you will hamper the flow between the desire and the execution.  The flow of creativity begun by the inner ego will be impeded.
Although I don't always write it explicitly, it should be inferred that everything I post is "my belief", "my opinion" on that subject, at that moment.
