About letting go

Our biggest contribution to growth and change is to imagine greatness, but then we must give the details and circumstances of our creation of it over to the higher intelligence — and get out of the way to let it work. Ala "miracles are nature unimpeded." We must send out that cosmic order and then let go. This:

"Once more, it is extremely important that Ruburt (Jane) keep his mind on his goals, and not burden his conscious mind by trying to figure out circumstances and conditions that are best handled by the infinite intelligence that is within his own subconscious mind.

The way and the means will be taken care of.

They will indeed appear almost effortlessly -- but he must let the burden of worry go."

~ Seth (Jane Roberts), Session January 22, 1984, from FB, Seth Network Australia, 02/21/16

It really is the crux of life. Surrendering and trusting the greater power that flows within us. I think our ego fears losing its identity if we let go and just enjoy the ride. Many Seth readers (myself inc) have taken 'I create my own reality' into their awareness without investigating what the 'I' in the statement really means.

An ineresting take on it came to me through one of the Bartholomew channelings, where he states that letting go should not be considered as a loss, but rather a 'power-up'.

I like that thinking -- powering up. I'm okay with the letting go to a degree, realizing I'm limited in my own resources on this plane to create what, and when. But some people call it surrendering, and to me that sounds more like giving up than letting go. I guess I've been tainted by the "Let Go, Let God" credo.  (Was that from AA or something like that?) That one never sat right with me. It sounded too much to me like admitting we are powerless, victims almost. Anything that tries to tell us we are victims really makes me see red.

I think I like the Abraham-Hick concept of going downstream.

Having started life before TV and now coming to a time with so much media/phones/net it makes me wonder how people are being "created" by media?  I don't think people were any more noble and media has actually made people more sophisticated world citizens...but at the same time, I remember being a person and not part of the collective.  Back in the day after reading Seth I just let me insurance go and have not had it since.  It was still a challenge.  I felt I was putting myself in dangerous territory.  But looking back I probably remained healthier because I didn't have that safety net to go to the doctor each time I had an "issue".  I had to rely on myself to figure out what the deeper meaning was.  This led to deeper understanding.

I do feel more powerful because I am aligned with the Flow of Life.  I expect to run into just what I need and I do.  But it's taken a bit of ego busting to accept that I needed certain things that society/media would say was inappropriate.  Living with limited $$ is one of those.  I value time/freedom at the moment.  Too many things need attention right now.  One year I made $25K, but I've driven red sports cars, lived all across this country in cool cities, been to Europe, eat very well, have always had access to the entertainment that satisfies me the most, met very interesting people.  I've had people with lots of money be jealous of me because I can move around freely while they are tied down to their business.

There will be a time when I will be that tied down, but that commitment does not serve me now.

Chapter 18: Conclusion-The Perfection of Renunciation

Quote"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear."PURPORT The Lord has described various kinds of knowledge, processes of religion, knowledge of the Supreme Brahman, knowledge of the Supersoul, knowledge of the different types of orders and statuses of social life, knowledge of the renounced order of life, knowledge of nonattachment, sense and mind control, meditation, etc.

He has described in so many ways different types of religion. Now, in summarizing Bhagavad-gītā, the Lord says that Arjuna should give up all the processes that have been explained to him; he should simply surrender to Kṛṣṇa. That surrender will save him from all kinds of sinful reactions, for the Lord personally promises to protect him.--"

I'm a fan of the Indian spiritual classic "The Bhaghavad Gita" and the phrase and idea "surrender" to the western mind gives the idea of giving up, which to me is a misunderstanding. It is quite a different concept, and the experience is not of giving up anything, but a losing of that which is false and unreal, and a gaining of that which is truly real. The surrender is like saying, you, your overself and All That Is are one thing, one nature.

You can spend your whole life trying to fight your own nature, or simply surrender to your higher nature.Think of a river flowing downstream, imagine how hard it would be to try and paddle upstream, and doing nothing, you could flow down river, with little to no effort at all. You surrender to the flow of life.God then is the ultimate river, and we try and swim upstream, making our lives a constant struggle and battle, or simply surrender, floating downstream, enjoying the journey, which will still be both difficult and painful, but we surrender to our own God nature.

We surrender to the strongest version of ourselves, we surrender to our own highest idea of who and what we are. This is not something that came to me easily, I spent many years meditating on the idea of "surrender". It's like saying, be happy, be blissful, it's not always easy, but we can make that choice. It's saying feel that Spirit and Life that flows through you, and let that reach out and touch everyone you encounter. Let people see that sparkle in your eyes, and remind them they come from the same Source.

And immediately after posting here I "accidently" found this video about "Let go, Let God".   ;D

Well said!   :)
