How is it that our intention in what we create is understood? I've been reading about what Seth said on units of consciousness but haven't come across intention. Is this ever mentioned? Thanks!

Blue, that's a good question. I came across this quote:

""These simple remarks will themselves be the basis for further rather involved discussions, as the mechanisms that are set into motion in such mental or psychic manipulation of matter have never really been explained. Remember however that such psychic manipulation of matter is the normal occurrence. It is however usually operating at subconscious levels, and without either knowledge or intent as far as the conscious mind is concerned. To be able to bring these natural but subconscious forces at all under any domination by the conscious mind is a terrific task. Such domination will never be habitual, but conscious awareness of subconscious manipulation of matter may become habitual, and may often of its own accord follow the desires of the conscious mind, if certain conditions are met. First of all, the conscious desires must be in league with, and unopposed by, subconscious expectations. Two, sufficient emotional impetus must be discharged, and this will be on or from subconscious levels. And three, communication between the conscious and subconscious, or the inner and so-called outer parts of the whole self, must be excellent." Session 81, p.305, The Early Sessions, Book 2"

Excellent summary.  :)

That explains why - even though we all create our own experiences subconsciously anyway - some individuals are better than others at manifesting what they consciously intend. These can be called  magicians. (I am aware that Seth doesn't use this term, but I have studied many different systems, and I like to highlight parallels sometimes.)

Maybe that is what real enlightenment is, when the conscious mind is perfectly in synch with the subconscious.

Great point Sena! That's when we get to mastering conscious creation.

I found these quotes too (I added the bold):

"This sort of communication also comes close to action in a fairly pure state. There is also another result of such relative ease of communication between the ego and the subconscious, in that the subconscious, which is listened to and taken into consideration by the ego, will have relatively little need to make its wishes known in other, perhaps less pleasant ways. Illnesses and various minor and major physical symptoms are often caused as the subconscious tries to speak out, in an effort to make itself heard by the unheeding conscious mind. If the conscious mind consults with the subconscious, such nagging or sometimes explosive efforts will not be needed."
—TES4 Session 152 May 5, 1965

"Here, however, I merely wished to make the point that this communication between your own egos and your own subconscious must depend upon yourselves, and the easier the communication between the ego and the personal subconscious the greater the strength, abilities, potentialities and value fulfillment of the present personality as a whole."
—TES4 Session 152 May 5, 1965

"What happens here is that the subconscious communicates with the entity through the inner senses..."

That makes sense. It's also in accordance with Hermetic Alchemy, in whose symbolic language the union of the Sun and the Moon (which stand for consciousness and subconsiousness, on one level) lead to the creation of the Philosopher's Stone (or a higher state of existence).

Deb, this seems to be consistent with what Freud wrote, although Seth was critical of Freud.
This is Seth on Freud in "The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events":

"If Christendom saw man as blighted by original sin, Darwinian and Freudian views see him as part of a flawed species in which individual life rests precariously, ever at the beck and call of the species' needs, and with survival as the prime goal — a survival, however, without meaning."

I wonder whether Seth would have agreed with Freud's statement that dreams are the royal road to the unconscious?

From the preface by Seth in NoPR:

'An examination of your conscious thoughts will tell you much about the state of your inner mind, your intentions and expectations, and will often lead you to a direct confrontation with challenges and problems. Your thoughts, studied, will let you see where you are going. They point clearly to the nature of physical events. What exists physically exists first in thought and feeling. There is no other rule.'

LenKop

"The formation of events is initially an emotional, psychic, or psychological function. Events are physical interpretations, conventionalized versions of inner perceptive experiences that are then 'coalesced' in space and time.
"Events are organized according to laws that involve love, belief, intent, and the intensities with which these are entertained."

I think the intensities of our intents are really what's key. pouring our emotional energy behind a thought in order to manifest it for a better life...but too narrow a focus and it just might not be in your best interest.  :D

Seth: "When I say "You create your own reality through your thoughts," you, meaning anyone, have a tendency to imagine each thought as a small brick, a psychological object, each one being formed into the structure of your experience. This can be an advantageous way of understanding certain principles—and I may have well hinted of such analogies myself. In your existence it is quite reasonable to visualize a desired event, for example, in the belief that the image and thought will help make the event physically real – and so it shall. It may also of course mean that other, perhaps more desirable events that you have not thought of may not happen—because you have been so specific, and perhaps determined your desire from your own level of understanding only—where the reservoirs of this deeper mental system might have been able to tell you that the event you want so badly is not, after all, to your best interest."

Len, so it's better not to be too specific when you are trying to create your own reality. I think that is worth keeping in mind.

Definitely worth keeping in mind; valuable information. I've heard it said that rather than focusing completely on an intended event/result/desired possession, to instead imagine and hold onto the emotion we will feel when our desire is fulfilled. Because that's basically what we're after anyway—the feeling. That gives F2 complete freedom to put together all the opportunities and synchronicities that will get us to our goal. And maybe along the way we do recognize, or are more open to, other opportunities that are more in alignment with our greater good.

I only read part of the page you linked to in this post, have worked all day so didn't have much time, but will get back to it. I was curious about the site, and didn't realize until now that gestaltreality.com has been referred to a few times on this forum.

The person, Jonathan Zerbin, who writes the blog, is pretty amazing. I'm going to keep an eye on him, will start a topic for him maybe tomorrow. Whenever I come across people like this who are intensely intelligent, deep and yet very diverse, it makes me think about the lead-in for the return of the Christ personality. To have many people of this caliber around the world working to raise the consciousness of the masses is very encouraging.

He has several posts related to Seth on the blog. I have some reading to do!
