Rachel Weisz gives a great performance in this film in which she plays historian Deborah Lipstadt, who was sued for libel by British Holocaust denier David Irving.

Thanks for the tip, it looks interesting. It's not in theaters here any more, I'll have to wait until it's on Netflix. Maybe it will help me understand why there are people that refute events like the Holocaust. Because I honestly don't get it.

My parents lived through those days, but here in the US (Russo-Polish descent), and would tell me horror stories about it when I was little. I read Anne Frank's diary as a child. My ex-husband is Jewish, his maternal grandfather was a Russian Jew who escaped during the Holocaust. He refused to talk about it. I spent a lot of time within the folds of the family, learning more about their perspective. I'm still fairly close with them.

When I saw Schindler's List in '93 I was so deeply affected by it that my first thought was maybe I'd lived through it in another life. I swore every high school kid should be required to watch that movie as a part of their basic education. I went as far as buying the movie, but never had the courage to watch it again. It's still sealed in cellophane.

Anyway, I went off a bit here. I'm just trying to understand people.
