sensing and probabilities

Hi All,

Just recently, in the last few days or so, as we all find ourselves in this very unique time and set of circumstances, the thoughts and feelings that keep popping into my mind are in relationship to Seth's ideas having to do with "probabilities".

I seem to be "sensing" that we are on the precipice of a very large opportunity of possible choices that we can choose for our future, at a mass level.

I'm sensing that this slowdown, people self-isolating, was chosen intentionally as part of a grand plan such that the world could stop and take a look at itself for a moment and really see, where it is heading and asking itself if that's the direction we want to go.

Kind of like giving yourself a "time out" in the middle of a set of crazy and confusing circumstances, in order to stop, meditate on thing and take a look at them.

I'm not talking about a thinking, logical or intellectual experience, here. Instead I seem to be sensing or feeling this.

Is anyone else here picking up on something like this as well?

I'm just curious about this.

jbseth, I agree that in the present sitaution it could be useful to think about Seth's teaching on probabilities.

""Probabilities are an ever-present portion of your invisible psychological environment. You exist in the middle of the probable system of reality. It is not something apart from you. To some extent it is like a sea in which you have your present being. You are in it, and it is in you. Occasionally at surface levels of consciousness, you might wonder what might have happened had you made other decisions than those you have; chosen different mates, for example, or taken up residence in other portions of the country. You might wonder what would have happened had you mailed an important letter that you subsequently decided not to mail; and in such small wonderings only, have you ever questioned the nature of probabilities. But there are deep connections between yourself and all those individuals with whom you have had relationships, and with whom you were involved in deep decisions."
—Seth Speaks Chapter 16: Session 566, February 15, 1971

""To dwell upon the possibility of illness or disaster is equally poor policy, for you set up negative webs of probabilities that need not occur. You can theoretically alter your own past as you have known it, for time is no more something divorced from you than probabilities are."

Totally. Certainly with Seth readers.

Even more so since I've started listening to Mass Events again. I can't believe how pertinent it is to what's going on. It means even more to me now than the first time I read it since we're living it.

...In terms of the species' integrity your mental states are, then, highly important. Despair or apathy is a biological "enemy." Social conditions, political states, economic policies, and even religious or philosophical frameworks that foster such mental states, bring about a biological retaliation. They act like fire applied to a plant. The epidemics then serve many purposes — warning that certain conditions will not be tolerated. There is a biological outrage that will be continually expressed until the conditions are changed.

Roberts, Jane. The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events (A Seth Book) . Amber-Allen Publishing. Kindle Edition.

That last part I bolded concerns me, because not that many people are on the same page as Seth/Abraham/et al that see mass events like this as catalysts/precursors or opportunities for change. And who at this point knows specifically what the change must be? Somewhere in Chapter 1 of NoME Seth said that while we participate en masse in events like this, we still continue to make our personal reality. So probabilities are still operating on both levels and my feeling is the personal reality takes precedence. And I continue to wonder if this is somehow leading up to the return of the Christ personality.

Daily I see more acts of kindness and stepping-up-to-the-plate in this and other countries. Offers of help. Research. Sharing and sending needed supplies as much as possible. I think it was yesterday that I saw a list of the nice things people and businesses are doing to pitch in right now (for instance, various industries repurposing their typical manufacturing to make things such as masks and respirators). I want to track it down so I can add that here.

My parents lived through the depression and WW2. I've heard stories and I'm starting to see signs of the heroics I associate with those times. Am I just romanticizing?

Hi Deb,

I don't think so.

If you use the Seth Search Engine and search on the words, "good intent" (which I just did) you'll see that many times, across many of his books, Seth said that man is of "good intent".  As a matter of fact, in WTH, Chapter 2, Session Feb. 7, 1984, he even tells us that "All creatures are basically of good intent".

I'm not sure that we always recognize this in our world, but I believe that fundamentally it's true. Furthermore, what's happening now is that not only is this being demonstrated, but its also being brought to our attention, from various sources.

I didn't see this yours earlier so I wrote in "Coronavirus source" discussion: " I wonder much these days How and What will change...One thing I surely have noticed more than before ( and don't know how to take it) is how this "thing" divides us.  First: physically.  Second: panics and no panics-people.  Sometimes I see the difference and feel the distance very clearly, distinct.  and sometimes it feels like a void opens between us.  not so nice feeling.  I Am a part of this, of them.  It's hard to have patience, understand and comfort a friend who calls to tell how all this is a american secret agents conspiracy or idiocies like that.  so what?  - keep silent - speak?  - maybe What is changing, at least, is that I'm learning more patience?! "
I can't know about world and changes ( yes, I'm very much a doer)  but now days I see what happens to me:  Between ups and downs I finally sat to use my brains ( very hard work ) and intuition.  Some conclusions (until now):  We all are "Influencers"- right. -  We/me, having the gym, get in contact with many many people.  First:  Gym is a place where - apart of the sport - you go there every other day, often, and many come there for social contacts, to talk, sometimes to "confess" - you know how it is.  Second: I'm also a teacher/trainer as are my boys.  We-many of us- have a tendency to "create masters" in whatever we are learning and keep following.  So that's why I'm in (often too) close contact with - anybody.  Third: my life- Long time ago, I worked in political-party head office.  Starting with all youthful idealism, ending after one year with a trauma that took ten years before i started to vote again.  So here I see this tendency of my life - to change something.
All this brings me to: seriously and sincerely consider my responsibilities.  and to act consequently.
rest we read reading Seth or other sources, learning, growing, searching.
So lovely Seth phrase: " It comes from the intimate experience of your own being."  But you must each find your own way."
I'm not inventing warm water here.   this is what I realized today about my life, today, when at last trying to use my poor, lazy and rusted brain-cells.
and then, to me: so what's next?

Hi Isa,

Thanks for your reply.

I particularly thought that your comments about how this thing divides us were very insightful. Especially in regards to the "Second: Panics and No Panics people". This was an interesting thought.

From what I've seen, I would say that some of the Seth readers are probably "No panics" people.

Recently I saw an article on the internet about 2 men in Florida, who instead of opting for social isolation, were sitting outside having lunch at a restaurant. The article talked about how they were discussing both politics and this coronavirus event. While these 2 men came from opposite sides of the fence, politically, they were both convinced that all of this non-sense about the coronavirus, was just some sort of big government conspiracy and they refused to either believe that it was true, or be concerned about it.

I would say that these 2 men were also "No Panics" people. However, they are "no panics" people who perhaps have a very different belief system, than others who for example are no panics people because they believe in Seth's messages.

I suspect that there may be many different separate groups of "no panic" people.

Likewise, there are probably many different groups of "panic" people.

I suspect that it's probably our personal beliefs and our belief systems, and not the coronavirus event itself that divides us into the specific groups of panic or no panic people that we each belong to.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

Thank you dear Jbseth!
This is a good / useful and sound reminder of our unity for me.
I was - with my ups and downs - too hastily dividing.

If interest, about how authoritarian leaders tend to profit in emergency situations, and how people/we empower them.
some interesting articles, like anne appelbaums:

Isa, thanks for the interesting links:

"The fourth lesson is open to interpretation but very important nonetheless. Unfortunately, the coronavirus could increase the appeal of the big data authoritarianism employed by the Chinese government. One can blame Chinese leaders for the lack of transparency that made them react slowly to the spread of the virus, but the efficiency of their response and the Chinese state's capacity to control the movement and behaviour of people has been impressive. In the current crisis, citizens constantly compare the responses and effectiveness of their governments with those of other governments. And we should not be surprised if, the day after the crisis, China looks like a winner and the United States looks like a loser."
I question whether China will be a winner in the long run. It is true that they have controlled the virus, but for how long can they continue the lock-down? If there is economic hardship in China, will the people continue to put up with the totalitarian government?

I've seen some of that too. But I've actually seen more signs of people reaching out to others in other ways while they still maintain their physical distance. Small acts of kindness. Smiles. Hellos. Small talk. Driving courtesy.

We ARE all in this together, but people react in different ways due to their beliefs, upbringing or personalities, so we are also facing this as individuals. Seth said, in Mass Events, that "no one can be born for you, or die for you, and yet no birth or death is really an isolated event, but one in which the entire planet participates." (session 803) I think that probably applies to a lot of things we as individuals experience. And since we're so focused in F1, what we sense here predominates.

I agree the Seth folks are less panicky. But many of us are being bombarded with bad news, not all of it is completely avoidable, and since we've lived the OLC for the majority of our lives, sometimes we can't help but worry. Seth had a few good things to say about worry, but I thought I'd just add just one little quote:

"You are used to thinking, however, that worry is an acceptable method of showing concern for private or public affairs. The best thing you can do for yourself, or your loved ones, or the world, is to stop worrying, and hence release all of the negative thoughts therein generated."

I feel most governments are trying everything they can think of to save lives, which includes looking at what other countries are doing to try to get a handle on the spread to see what works and what doesn't. In most countries people, look to their government to protect them. I know Americans do, sometimes to their own detriment (thinking FDA here). But if leaders did not take steps to create new laws and restrictions during a crisis like this, they would be criticized for being weak and ineffective. I realize there are some leaders who will capitalize on this, just like anything else.

I saw this article the other day and it points out a few of the requirements the Chinese government enforces on its citizens in order to control them. I could not live that way.
