Quote from: usmaakChrome/Chromium is loaded with bugs and memory leaks.  It uses more memory than any application that I've ever seen.  Its ability to use extensions is great, but many of them are garbage and each extension also uses a ton of memory.  I used Chrome for years, but moved away from it last year when I realized that it was a lot cheaper to choose a different browser and not have to spend money on a new computer when mine finally melted down.

Pros and cons.  It's not unusual for Macs to overheat when running Chrome.  When I was researching to try and find a useful fix, there were a ton of people complaining about it.

They know it is a problem and yet do not fix it
Hmmm

Good for you!

Less stress way more beneficial!

Seems you picked the perfect place for your topic.

I loved Chrome but gave it up because it didn't play nice with the outdated OS on my laptop (I can't upgrade for technical reasons), and there were also some different problems with my brand new iMac. Safari was just ok, same with Opera and Vivaldi. I've been using Firefox because it will sync on my Macs. I'll take a look at Brave.

As far as email, take a look at Protonmail. I have email through my hosted domains (unreliable), Gmail (better... but Google owns everything and that creeps me out) and the Protonmail one seems to be reliable and tame.

I've felt Apple has been more intuitive than Windows based stuff, my feeling has been that Microsoft thinks everyone is a moron. But that's just my take.

Sooooooooooooo

I am looking for a search engine ... a plain ole search engine. One that does not use artificial intelligence!

This is becoming a PITA

Anyone know of one? If I find one I will post it. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤪

I was looking for a doctor using startpage and all I got was the bombardment of the thing that shant be named lol I felt censored by startpage and that was a first!

I miss DMOZ 😐

Deb

I have NO IDEA about most of what your wrote, lol. CERN, DMOZ, SEC... another language.

I used to use Dog Pile as a search engine, but I've been using Google mostly because of the speed. But I'm sure you're looking for something more sophisticated than those. Hopefully someone here is technical like you are, and will come up with some suggestions.

Awww I used dogpile I forgot about them!
I will check them out tysm

DMOZ was a search engine database once upon a time, then google came out and ..... well...they are not around anymore.

SEC is the security exchange commission that holds a huge portion of all of the encrypted keys for https and pgp and a company called entrust is in "care" of them

Its not like I have top secret information to keep from prying eyes LOL
But stay out of my stuff 🤣

Cern is the big collider over there... they smash atoms and whatnot... surely you have heard of them ? The particle accelerator? Well people who worked for them own proton

My spidey senses are tingling... I am happier when I pay attention to those

Im ok with my email for now but I would prefer something else.

I will probably just blow it all off and come terms with my own beliefs about certain topics.

I am already in route anyway...

I dont know... lol .... I know my data is secure ... I would prefer to have it elsewhere however.

I have my own olc beliefs about certain topics I choose to push through at this time. Which is probably why I am facing it all. LOL

I still would prefer a non AI search engine.
They are creepy. Imho but that is a whole other topic lol

Thanks for the explanations. I thought they were some sort of programming acronyms I'd not heard of, lol. Yes, I've heard of CERN, and also the SEC. DMOZ looked familiar, but I'm not the techie type so couldn't place it.  ;D

Have you ever seen a video with a great quote in it ?

Well have no fear!

Online Image to text is here!

Simple take a snap shot of the screen and make an image from it.
On my desktop depending on browser, I can use the snapshot function or print screen and paste that into paint or adobe. Then save it ....

Head on over to any Online Image to text converter, upload image file, and boom. Text!

https://www.ocr2edit.com/convert-to-txt
https://www.onlineocr.net/

I have used both and they are free. One gives you a daily limit. You might like something else.

The search string is "online image to text converter"

PS. If you strip the exif data from your images all you will get is garbledy gook 9 times out of 10. So do that later. lol

site: borderlandsciences.org video
put a space between the : and a space between the website and the search term "video" or whatever words or phrase you want to use like "oldsite"

VPN INFO

If you are looking for a VPN you want to make sure they do not have tracking cookies on their home page! If you have ad blockers etc you can see the list they have blocked on the page you are viewing. Or in a desktop browser you can view source and look at them. Also, there is ZERO point to having a vpn that uses google analytics. If you see a vpn listed in all the top 10 sites then rest assured they are paying for that placement!

What can a vpn do and not do? Go here, https://www.ivpn.net/, and scroll down where it says "Do you really need a vpn?"

If you are a person concerned about payment, get a gift card! You pay cash for them, and there isn't anything attached to you. *S* (maybe the location of the store and one can easily get change somewhere)

Some folks live in very strict areas and they dont want you talking about the Seth material on top of many other things. I believe in freedom. I believe in your birthright. And we are all here working together. There might be "hydra heads" multiplying but so are ... ours. Countering the counter so-to-speak.

Blessings!

I update these links - The vpn info is also updated

Just wanted to let yall know

If you really want to keep programs from connecting online, add them to your firewall. I do not allow programs to update automatically. I like to check the updates and whether or not I need it or... want it.

Just because I practice and understand the Seth material does not mean I stop using preventative measures or allow my intelligence to go to the trash bin. I might enjoy using a program but it doesnt mean I want it to inspect everything I am doing.  ;)

Thanks for looking out for us! I'm on Apple so I've never worried about hacking or being tracked. But as more people use Apple products over the years, that will change. And wifi... I have at times taken precautions when traveling when airports are involved. But travel seems like a lost luxury in my distant past.  :-\

VLC Player converts videos!

Also, if it is not converting a file, inspect its security permissions. Right click on the video file (windows)  you want to convert, select properties, click tab security, and click through the listed access list and see if your normal user has full control. Sometimes a file only gives system, administration etc full control. If you see only read for your user, click to highlight the user name and then click edit, and check mark "full control", then apply, then ok.

Now you can convert!

You can tell it is converting because the blue line is moving like it would if you were watching a video.

Man VLC is awesome! lol

I think Brave pays you to view ads I think it pays in bat tokens? So you can allow ads and then you accumulate tokens - this is the blockchain aspect of it. If everything used it bat tokens would be worth a lot of money and everyone would get an income albeit small from the advertising they watched. However because blockchain is decentralised there is no central mammoth company (like Google/chrome) to brainwash ppl into using it. In blockchain the brainwashing is missing. This is good ofc but it means mass adoption is more difficult to obtain than when a central entity like Google puts out massive waves of brainwashing material so we then love it because of the images it has associated itself with. All lies ofc and the way brand entities distort reality and our perceptions.

Oh I did not know that! Thanks!
I do not use it for that though I just like it lol

I am thankful I do not use fb or google anything. Funnily enough those that watch and make notes on everything, ie; fb and goog, will also be watched and noted on lol

There is a saying about that somewhere teehee

I also like Snowhaze for mobile devices, it gets an A+ from me.
