Hello,

I came upon the symbols in "Seth speaks, part two chapter 18 session 571 from March 3 1971.

He said :
"[.... ] One person may symbolize fear as a demon, as an unfriendly animal, or even as some perfectly simple ordinarily harmless object; but if you know what your own symbols mean, then you can use the knowledge not only to interpret your dreams but also as signposts to the state of consciousness in which they usually occur"

Yeah well, if I knew my own symbols... Anyone here who figured out how I could know my own symbols?

I tried to connect my beliefs with symbols. Is that the right approach?

I interpret everything that attracts my attention: a quote, a dream, a situation, an event, a feeling. I do this all the time.

I get into a light trance, I put aside all my beliefs and expectations, I contact my inner-guide, and I ask for interpretation and guidance.

Sometimes I try firstly to get my own intuitive interpretation. My guide's interpretation is usually deeper than my intuitive interpretation.

If I am directly involved with the object of the interpretation, that is a test for me (my outer-self, my ego). If it is about somebody else, then it is a lesson for me. Either way, there is always a guidance for me.

The same symbol has different interpretations for different people, because they have different things to learn. Even for the same person, in different contexts, the same symbol has different interpretations.

Everything has multi-layered symbolism.

I just read this paragraph, from another channeled entity, and I think it relates to this thread:

• LP asks if "He" agrees with Federico Faggin's theory (wiki) which states that basically, reality is like a book that communicates ideas between the author and reader (in his case between the different beings who interact with reality itself), assuming both are able to technically handle the communication. The book's 'exterior' details and statistics can be scientifically analyzed, as well as many other books, but the ideas therein are not measurable, so the messages are only received by those who are able to access them. The author codifies a message and the reader may decode it either correctly or incorrectly, or – if more sophisticated than the author– even read a message that the book's author did not intend to write. The book doesn't change, but how well it's understood depends on the reader's awareness. "He" shares this position and, using the analogy of the book, we can say that the message it contains can go beyond what the author wanted to convey and the reader may take from it an idea that was originally unintended by the author. The communication occurs not only between two beings, but reaches many through different channels.

That's quite right. In my nearsighted way of perceiving contents of books I really thought there must be "the one message". Until I had the opportunity to read the above statement.
And it's funny how it so clearly looks me in the face and how obvious it is. Omg. How could I? Not realizing the fact that I myself said so many times to another person : I didn't understand it that way.....

I'm totally on board with meditation or asking my oversoul for guidance. I do get a lot of answers that way.

There are also websites that are dedicated to symbolism interpretation. They are not the end-all, because some symbols are societally common while others are strictly personal, but they could be a place to start if something resonates with you.

I think personal symbols are adopted in life. For example, I see cars/automobiles as a symbol of freedom due to my personal history. Some things that appear in my dreams are practical... issues I'm dealing with in my waking time or things that are going on physically with my body while I'm asleep. Such as hunger or needing to use the loo.

Maybe just take some time to explore things that appear in your dreams and try to get a feel for what they represent. I don't think everything in my dreams are symbolic. I could be wrong, but for me most seem to be literal.

I like to try and see if for example I dream of a bear and it carries certain traits... who in my life also has those traits.

Its been helpful with certain things. Any person, place or thing to include events etc.
Symbolisms are very individuated and the psyche wastes no space. Once you uncover some of the top layers you can see how they are applied in other parts of life and.... universally.

Uuh, that sound great. I must confess that even if I state a question before going to sleep I usually dream things I can't categorize at all.
Mostly I am in fact doing things wrong or I have the impression I didn't get it at all - in the dream. And when I am awake I'm like yeah Doro, you don't get some important stuff... And I am frustrated.
There are also dream of course where I do things I find interesting and not threatening or confusing. For example last night I woke up at least 3 or 4 times and I was aware of my dreams. One of my memories was that I had purchased a trip far away. It must have been expensive because I was asked why I was spending such an amount of money as in : it was every thing I owned. And I answered that it was OK and that I really wanted this, otherwise I would have bought me a Harley Davidson. Which was funny.
So now I'm thinking on it and I really have no clue at all what that was about.
Interestingly I also remember after that dream I woke with an unpleasant dream and turning around in my bed to go back to sleep I consciously remembered the episode of buying a trip because I didn't like to have another "bad" or confusing dream. I did this at least 3 times.
And it's like this : some times I am really tired of dreaming strange stuff! Like I'm afraid of doing so.
I guess this is the wrong approach also

Doro, thanks for sharing your dream with us. It seems to be about the purpose of money, and I can see how it applies to my own life. Not that I am going to purchase an expensive trip!

Yours are for you to interpret purely. However if I was to take a gander at my own dream like yours I would say I have found a new way of life and I am going all in. I could have squandered again on the same pattern of life but I have found a new life and I am head over heels!!!!

Ah dont beat yourself up with the strange or crazy dreams. Yes they can be frustrating BUT

YOU actually course corrected the memory of the unwanted and then replaced the memory with what you truly want !  Kind of like an algorithm giving you more of what you do look for online. Keep doing that and getting MORE of what you actually do want.

The mental muscle work out is something we all practice to become better and better. Because it is a muscle we have rarely consciously used!

Also, the unwanted dreams are also "treasures in the trash" if we want them to be. Sometimes our beliefs have gained such a momentum in our lives that seeing them face to face in dreams can be reminders of our work to do. And we want that. I think? I used to dream of "crazy town". So annoying lol but with gentle reminders and me rewriting them later to portray a more joyous and workable outcome, was for me a great therapeutic recovery! 

I have a dream journal, and a notebook for rewriting, and a few other notebooks for my exercises and psytimes. And a free flowing doodle notebook lol

I like writing my dreams down versus voice recorder. When I wake up from a dream I sometimes will write down only key points. That way when I wake up for the day I can see the jotted notes and recall everything as I am writing them down.

OH wow. What an interesting interpretation. Thank you! This was so much fun to read 😄. It felt really good.
I must confess that I don't really look too far in good directions when dreaming such nice things. I'm afraid that it can't become true - in whatever sense that would be - when I sort of claim it and celebrate it.

I also started writing down my dreams but I didn't continue because it didn't made sense after a while. I had dreams and couldn't translate the pictures and impressions into words. Very confusing.

Also the whole concept of dreaming is still something alien to me. Sometimes even scary. I didn't have that puzzled out...I guess I have to search this topic here and read opinions and insights on this matter. This should help.
But I definitely start again with a dream journal!
